Hi I have an Lg optimus P769 I tried too unlock the bootloader but i think i messed my phone up i managed to install cwm recovery but after i rebooted my phone it said it was encrypted and it said to reset phone so i downloaded a backup from another thread and restored it but now i can't do anything because everything is still inverted and don't know what to do. How can i revert to how i was before trying to unlock the bootloader?
Ok so i was able to install V20D_00.kdz but everything is still inverted and the touch screen is bad....does anybody know how to fix it?

Easiest way would be to use the LG Support Tool but you'll lose root and such or if you can figure out how to navigate the inverted screen you can flash the touchscreen fix zip while in cwm recovery.

Okay..just rooted today by downgrading to .15 version of the firmware and using viperboy's root tool...tried to reboot into recovery using the vol down etc method and no dice...all I get is the android dude layed out with his guts all over the place...lol
I went ahead an flashed CWM, figured it might be TWRP related and still no dice...any help would be much appreciated.
*I also tried booting into recovery via terminal "reboot recovery.." -- no luck.
You need to unlock your tablet. When you're rebooting and you don't see a message on the top left saying something 'unlock', you're unlocked.
Rooting will not let you install CWM. Unlocking using Asus's tool will allow you to install a CWM, TWRP, or etc.

Thanks for the response...So what exactly is the point of rooting without unlocking if you can't boot into recovery and install custom ROMS?
Just a quick suggestion if you want to unlock and install CWM. You should un-root yourself and do a reset to factory first. I'm not sure if it's a must but it wouldn't hurt since you want to install a custom rom anyways. You'll lose everything when you install a custom rom. If it doesn't unlock the first time don't keep trying. Just wait until the next day. The unlock tool has to get a code from Asus to unlock and Asus's server seem to be miss firing A LOT.
A few people including myself are having problems with unlocking the prime.
PS - Rooting will let you run certain apps.
OK where to start... Have a P769 T-Moble v 20f. I rooted it previously with LGPwn.apk. Still had locked bootloader. I was trying to switch the storage and somehow screwed that up to where my phone would only say encrypting reset phone. Flashed with a rooted recovery from a post I found here and got my phone working again, but I have no root now and LGPwn.apk doesn't seem to work for me. any ideas or help would be awesome. I do have CWM and it still apparently works.
Hey guys so I ran into anther problem.A while ago I posted on what next for my p769, I have a rooted v10g ICS locked bootloader.I cant do the OTA update because Ive modified system apps and rom settings. I followed the method of flashing a JB Backup with CWM from this link that was provided: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37666447
So then I didnt have CWM installed so I proceeded to install cwm for my phone using this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36620368
As for that my results were a little troubling The flashing led lights when I turn on my phone dont blink anymore and when SU grants permissions it has started to loop it continuously grants permissions to apps that SU just gave permissions to.And on top of that the CWM installation was supposedly installed but I cant even boot to CWM
Hope I can get some help on this one .

So a little add on to that I think I jacked up my phone because now it wont connect to wi fi networks and it seems SU gives access to apps but doesn't really give them root access ....-_- I think the worst part about this is I cant restore to an old back up because I was trying to install CWM so I could make backups .

I have used both Stephen and Robert version. Just install the one your prefer. For wifi issue, it work before you mess up your phone? Try to make CWM work and restore a good CWM backup.

So for the Wi-Fi it did indeed work before The CWM issue ..in fact it worked perfectly I dont know what CWM did to my phone
You have to do a hard reset to fix the problem. Then start over
LG-P769 rooted, debloated, over clocked, under volted, and linked2sd. 'Tis the season to give thanks so hit the button already!
Hi, not sure if this has been asked or is a "noob" question but my phone has that error where updating causes the fallen android and red exclamation mark. So I was wondering if I could just install a updated backup so I could stop having to disable the update notification in the Google Service Framework. Thanks in Advance.
Never mind, should have read the post more thoroughly. Hopefully someone can help you with problem.
Seriously, It's been a couple days and this thread has over 100 views but no one has any form of input.
If you'll install that backup via CWM it's fine.

Mine is a bootlocked P769 and does it matter if its a nandroid backup.
Don't do anything stupid with that locked bootloader.
You should try kuma82's custom
Tweaked stock rom. Works for locked
Bootloaders. Its a great custom ROM
For those without the ability to unlock
Bootloader.
So I let my brother use my rooted LG Volt ls740 to play a game. The phone had downloaded an OTA update about a week ago, but I've been putting it of and not installing it BC the phone is rooted. Well he went ahead and did the update without asking and basically soft bricked the phone.
It just boot loops to CWM Recovery. I bit the bullet and tried to wipe and factory reset the phone to no avail.
i then tried downloading and flashing with stock Roms zv5 and zv6. Both install fine with no errors. When i go to restart it goes to a screen that says "root access possibly lost, fix" followed by 6 nos and a yes that says Fix root (/system/xbin/su) Whether i choose yes or no it just restarts back to the same screen.
I've looked everywhere and figured if anyone could help it would be XDA. Please someone help. This phone is my livelyhood and i can't afford to replace it at the current time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!

This is the fix for the G2 and G3, so I would think it's the same for yours, although I am not familiar with that particular one.
Since you have CWM and not TWRP, which includes a terminal emulator, you'll probably have to do it via adb shell on your PC, or maybe the Aroma File Manager:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
then hit enter
type
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/misc
After that, you should be able to flash a rom or install the KDZ, if available.
