Hi,
I am configuring a tablet for my grandparents, and I am struggling to find an Android keyboard which arrange keys in alphabetical order (A B C D ...) instead of QWERTY.
I am not looking for a keyboard with combined keys using dictionaries like dialpad/T9 (which would be too complicated for them), I just need a basic keyboard with one virtual key per letter.
I thought that this would be very common and easy to find, but it's not
The only applications that I found are :
Keyboard for Senior Citizens : would be perfect but does not scale up correctly on tablet.
Keyboard for Dyslexics (lol) : seems to be exactly the same as the "senior" version, did not try because it s an other pay app and has same developer, screenshots and description.
Kids Keyboard : Scale problem in landscape on tablet : too small.
Alphabetical Keyboard : takes the whole screen in landscape on tablet.
Simple Large Button Keyboard : Scale problem in landscape on tablet : too small.
SlideIT English - ABC pack : layout addon for SlideIT keyboard, but I don't like the suggestion panel remaining on the top.
Dextr Alphabetic Keyboard : the only functional from the list, but I would rather use a design closer to a traditional keyboard.
If anybody knows a better keyboard with ABCD order or a keyboard which would let me customize the layout, I would be very interested.
Best regards,
Laurent

I was wondering if there is way to make the keyboard any smaller
Not really, The keyboard layout is part of the input interface.
If you need a smaller keyboard, you will have to look for one, but that will not include swype.
Why would you want to do that? It's small as it is.
all the eye candy and optimized roms for the HD2 are awesome!!! i haven't got into upgrading mine yet, so might as well want to post a new request prior to doing that -- in case, one developer has the time to create a:
a US English Dvorak keyboard layout that is non-staggered (in straight rows and columns) key alignment.
there are Dvorak typists who would really appreciate this one keyboard layout option aside from the traditional staggered qwerty, most particularly if it is straight and non-staggered....
Hey there.
The Swedish keyboard layout is rather squashed together because of the additional letters (see attached picture) and I wonder if there is a way to have the UK/US keyboard layout but with Swedish auto-correction and prediction?
I like the stock Samsung keyboard, and the US/UK layout have good spacing between each key.
It might be a simple thing to fix but I have no idea if it's possible or how to do it but if someone knows how or have any ideas and care to explain I could probably do the work myself. A search through XDA and Google didn't help.
Thanks!
Hi
Can anyone help me to edit my hardware keymap?
I want to use farsi language and when I open my slide keyboard it type letters in arabic so it hasn't some letter like "گ".
I want to edit keyboard layout to use my hardware keyboard for typing worlds.
Hello,
I was wondering if someone can help me. I am new android user. So far I was blackberry 10 user (Q5 in my case) and I've used on the physical keyboards, and now when I was forced to move on android I am so desperate because I can't find any touch keyboard which is nearly comfortable as physical keyboard.
I am mostly looking for the options which SwiftKey and Gboard have but with much more wider keys than I am getting on Huawei P Smart 2019 with 6,21".
Mostly all keyboards which I have tried have the option to change the height but none of width of the keys.
Big Letters Keyboard is one of the rarest keyboard which I like so much, but it has nearly 30% of the options of SwiftKey or Gboard.
Please look at the screenshots below, which I have made on my 6,21" of 4 keyboards I have installed.
SwiftKey imgur com slash a slash sfvrJVN
Gboard imgur com slash a slash r2PncDK
Big Letters keyboard imgur com slash a slash 5q4nl91
Grammarly keyboard imgur com slash a slash wHwpB5H
My question is, because with my fat fingers I am correcting nearly every word on android touch, is there any possibility to change the width on Swiftkey or Gboard, or is there any keyboard which looks like Big Letters keyboard or Grammarly, but with the options like SwiftKey or Gboard?
I am for now forcing my self to use Gboard, because I need such options, but would like to have much fatter keys ?
Thanks in advance.
P. S. On my beloved BB10 Q5 with curved physical keyboard, the typing was phenomenal, but I don't have enough money to buy BlackBerry Key2, and that's why I am stuck with Huawei P Smart 2019, which is also ok, but with such typing on "the glass" will never be near any BlackBerry 10 or Blackberry Android with physical keyboard.
