Hi all,
I've got a broken screen so it doesn't even turn on anymore. I've reflashed a stock ROM, got it to boot up and I can plug in and see it via MHL. I want to use it to play videos etc through my TV as there's no other use for it. I've already got a replacement S3 to use as my main phone. Problem is the touch screen doesn't work for me to get through the setup and install the required apps. I could probably use a bluetooth keyboard/mouse or even physical using otg but I don't think that is possible using MHL. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Scott
mmm you could borrow for a BT mouse/keyboard and install TeamViewer QuickSupport, after that you should install TeamViewer 7.0 on your PC and since then you will be able to control your phone using the PC so you will not need the BT mouse/keyboard and you will be able to install whatever you want.
What do you think?

Yeah something like that was what I was thinking but as the screen doesn't work and it's on the Android setup screen when it's first turned on, I don't know how to pair a BT keyboard and mouse / install TeamViewer. My only thought would be a custom ROM with TV installed and configured and flashing it via ODIN .. but I don't know enough to create my own custom ROM
Thanks! :good:
Maybe I'm wrong but, when you plug the MHL adapter, it automatically mirrors the screen to the HDTV, doesn't it? I don't have it yet but I think it does, perhaps other could shed light on this issue

Yeah I've got an MHL adapter and it just mirrors the image so that's fine. I hoped the touch screen would still work even if it doesn't display anything but unfortunately it doesn't so I've got no way of controlling the phone, despite being able to see the display on my TV screen :crying:
You could set up everything you want on your working S3. Make a nandroid backup. Then flash that to your non-working phone.

I've got an option in my tv set that allows me to control the phone with the remote controller.
Check your tv.
i found it out accidentally in mine.
This option is called "fun link" in my tv set.

I bought a steelseries free bluetooth game controller which worked great until I tried switching modes for the remote. When I switched back it acted funny and opened random apps. I unpaired and repaired it about 20 times which didn't fix anything. I then connected it to a different android device to see if it was the controller but it works great on there. My question is, is there a deeper way to clear bluetooth that would clear out whatever the problem is?

Hi all,
I've got a conundrum that I can't seem to work out from Googling. I suppose I will give the background then my question.
I use my xperia z2 tablet at the gym to watch TV shows because the treadmill is even more uninteresting than the landscape around my place. I don't like to be hooked up to it via headphones because I don't want to accidentally pull it over. So - I use a bluetooth audio receiver I plug my headphones into, and they receive the audio from the tablet (which is paired with the receiver).
I would prefer to just use my phone in place of the receiver, because the receiver is cheap and doesn’t work so well (and i cant believe it can't be done).
I thought two options could be:
1 using the phone as a bluetooth receiver, or
2 somehow using the wifi hotspot on the phone to enable the audio from the tablet to play through the phone.
Am I strange? Any ideas? Does something already exist or is it even possible?
Thanks.
Further update - I've asked at an electronics store and they had no idea. But I have faith in the people on here. Anyone?

Hi,
I've searched but can't seem to find anyone with the same issue.
I'm trying to connect my phone to my hifi via Bluetooth. It connects fine but after 3 or 4 minutes the sound cuts out. Both the hifi and the phone still say they are connected and any music app I use says it is playing, it's just there is no sound. I've tried it on 2 roms, Omega 4.1.2 and S5 Sensation 4.4.2 and it's the same. It's not the hifi either as it works fine on my Nook HD+ tablet. I'd just use the nook but it doesn't support aptx.
Any ideas?
