Used to have some decent 4G wimax here and there in the Twin Cities. The new G2 was down to sprint 3G and now running on LTE, finally.
I've hit 30 down and eleven up in the twin cities...but your results are pretty normal for me on lte

Sorry is this is a dumb question. Just got my new LG G2 setup and we aren't supposed to get the new 4G till January. Should my network preference be set on global or CDMA/LTE?

I saw a post somewhere at xda saying a sprint staff suggested the op to put it on global, while both work fine with mine; cannot tell a difference when yours are connected to sprint network.

Signal strength only lights up half of the bars or less near my apt, so mostly it's below 20 down and sometimes less than 10. Don't know how reliable the speedtest app is, but had no problem with audio/video streaming.
There were a couple of times the spark hits over 50 down while up speed fell really low...
Hope sprint quickly improve lte coverage in the coming new year, as they said. Cheers ~
When LTE from Verizon first came here in Richmond, I was getting 40 to 50 down. I am lucky to get 20 any more.

Here's one for you. My iphone5 did not get LTE inside my house. My G2 does. I use wifi, but I had turned it off for a test, and forgot. It's funny, it will show LTE with Zero bars or the one tiny bar and I get around 5.5/1.5.
I don't know if they did tower work in the last month and a half. Either way, I am not unhappy. Speed tests are for fun...what I care is that it works. With a good LTE signal, it is faster than my "20Mb" DSL. I use pandora when I drive and love that it doesn't buffer constantly.

Wow! After what seemed like two weeks of worse than dial-up speed, I just ran a test (same time in the evening as the abysmal speeds) and I am back up to pre-iphone speeds, avg around 1.2-1.6 Mbps. SE NC here.
I've been using the speedtest.net app to test this wonderful LTE speed pretty much everywhere I go. When I tested it several times inside the building at work Monday I got roughly 20mbps. Earlier today (Wednesday) I tested it several more times and was consistently getting 14-16mbps which is still good. Just now I tested it several more times and I'm only getting roughly 4-6 mbps! What gives? All of these tests have been done in the same spot in the same building. Should I be alarmed? Please help!

Blame it on the LTE service not the phone. I have 3 LTE towers with 10 miles of eachother and the same thing happens. But I can consistently hit 20+ mbps on a good day.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
If there are not 10,000 ppl using lte when u do ur speed test, the speeds should be awesome, but... if there are 10,000 ppl using it, and all trying to dload stuff t the same time.... well, its gonna slow down.
Just like a wifi router at home... just me surfing, dl'ing stuff... speed is unreal... but get the gf with her ipad goin, the kids playing xbox, and whatever other devices are connected and using the web... speeds slow down... same concept. More ppl using the network = slower speeds.
yeah, the 4G LTE network is still relatively new and will keep growing. Not unlike the early 3G days. It'll get bogged down by high traffic. Just be glad you're getting 4G consistently. Around here in western NY, it's hit and miss. More often than not, I'm on 3G.

AT&T LTE is nice, but it's a bit slower than I expected in San Diego. I was seeing 35-50mbps everywhere else. I'm averaging around 12-15 here in this area.

I get decent speeds in Minneapolis, Minnesota 15-30 down 10-25 up. LTE just came to our area.
In Phoenix, AZ last night. I'm impressed.
I'm about 20 miles west of Boston. This is about as fast as I get on FioS at home, give or take a few Mb/s
Daytona Beach
Daytona Beach weekend mid-day.
Coming from a galaxy nexus which had kinda meh 4G speeds, my 4G speeds on the N3 are insane.
I take my son to/from school every day and it's only about 3 minutes down the road. When I'm there waiting to pick him up in the afternoons I've been doing some speed tests. In that specific location I've been getting crazy speed readings. I tried a few diff servers with similar results. There must be a tower literally right there.
These are my two fastest results. The faster result is about 7 MEGABYTES per sec. That's pretty crazy. I pay $39/month for my home cable broadband, and that's only 10 Mbps, which is only about 1 MB/s. lol, sad.
It's not a false reading either. Just to confirm I downloaded a few apps, and sure enough a 13MB app downloaded in about 2 seconds.
Anyone else getting speeds like this??
Back before LTE was overloaded I got speeds like that. The one below is my fastest of all time. Just waiting for AWS to roll out now.

Here's what I'm getting
Back when I got my first 4g phone I got something like 40up 60down at SEATAC airport. About 40 and 40 at denver airport. Had to run the test a few times before I believed I was actually getting those speeds. Which brings up the interesting point of data caps and just how stupidly fast you can pass them with these speeds -_-
Eh, Speedtest timed out trying to find a server in downtown San Francisco. Is that the apps' fault or is something else awry?
Finally connected: 1.01 mbps down, .08 mpbs up.
Called the local corporate store in downtown SF, their service department is booked solid for the whole day...I wonder why.

I got about 70 mbps with ATT in an area that I only got 30 to 40mbps with my Note 3.
Im on tmobile and I'm actually having the reverse. I upgraded from a Note 3 and when I run speed tests in the same places that I did with my note 3, the 6p is on average 50% slower. Can't be because of the lack of band 12 because the note 3 didn't have that band. Hmmm
It seems Sprint just updated the network today. I'm in San Antonio TX, I've always compromised service for price but if this stays consistent then I'll finally have both.
