Topic pretty much says it. I like to have the power button be able to hang up, because fumbling with getting screen back on, and selecting the red hang up button is a hastle.
But, if I need to get to the keypad and the screen is blacked out, is there a way to get the screen on? Seems like the answer is no. It hangs up when I try to.
Try to wake the screen with the Home button? Wakes it if it's locked, etc... Maybe will wake when in-call?

That does it. Thanks.
screen should automatically turn on when it goes away from your head due to the proximity sensor. if it doesn't, then put your thumb over the proximity sensor and take it off to create a "pseudo-effect"

Using speaker...it goes dark.
But as noted, the home key does the job.

Yeah.... It has come back with the latest firmware.
on the .475 FW upgrade it got fixed. .510 was OK too.. but the current .532 has the problem again.
Lets hope it is gone with the next upgrade, because there is nothing u can do uness you roll back a firmware
your screen protector is bad, change it as it might disturb ur proximity sensor.
screen protector it has to have a hole on the sensor if it does not you have a problem i used a hole puncher worked perfect

Hi I was going to make another thread concerning the screen off while on call with headphones. you see i've got power button to end call when press but when I'm on call with my headphones the screen goes black and I don't know how to bring the screen back on without pressing the power button. because if I do it will end the call. can any body tell me how to prevent or how to bring screen back on
I'm running the stable version of CM10.1.3 on the xt910. Yes, I have a screen protector and the proximity sensor works. The phone is set to "sleep" after about 1min and I enabled "end call" by pressing the power button.
Other threads don't really address the question in relation to Cyanogenmod.
Is there a way to prevent the the screen from "sleeping" and locking me out during a phone call? The proximity sensor works very well before the phone "sleeps". In other words, prior to locking me out the screen dims and lights when the sensor is covered or not. Once the phone sleeps, the only way to end the call and access the phone is to press the power button.
I couldn't find any settings within CM that allowed me to change this feature.
Thanks
Can someone on JB 4.3 confirm if the screen locks by pressing the power button during a phone call ?
I'm guessing we are all on L....
there is a setting in assistance that can use power button to end call. so it depends on that setting on or off
With the setting off because if its on it would end the calls
The reason I'm asking is because my phone calls get discocenected accidentally when I put my phone in my pocket while using a Bluetooth. Since the phone doesn't lock when I press the power button, the proximity sensor turns the screen on while in my pcoket and the end button gets pressed accidentally.
I remember "not" having this problem on JB

Yes, the screen turns off, but the call is still there.
But does it lock? Do you have to swipe to unlock it?

No, just press the power button again, the screen turns back on, and the call screen is still there. Repeat cycle.
now my proximity sensor is acting funny
i use direct call (when i put phone to ear, it will call the number on screen). that works fine, but once its at my face, my screen turns off. when i distance it away, it doesnt come back on, and i need to press home button to light the screen and to end call
tested the proximity sensor via *#0*# and it works fine.
help
This is normal. There's an option to disable this. I don't remember where, but exists. I think it's in the motion part.
