Hey Guys,
I'm having a weird issue where the screen brightness keeps changing itself every time I turn the screen off. I tried disabling Smart Actions & Automate It (tasker-like app), changing the brightness in the display setting, unchecking the display power saver option. In all cases if I set the brightness to 100% after turning the screen off and then on again the brightness will be down to like 10% or so, although the indicators I have will still tell me the screen is at 100%. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Me too, it only happens randomly though, i thought it had something to do with the"Lux" app i use to control brightness.
Do u use any screen protectors? It could b interfering with the light sensor
Sent from my ICS Moto Razr XT910
There is a screen protector but this is happening when brightness is not set to Auto. It's set to 80% and every time I hit the power button and then turn the screen back on it dims to like 0-10%. I've tried closing all running processes and it still happens. I also tried resetting the phone and it initially wasn't doing this but once I setup all the programs it does, so it must be somehow related to a non-running process program configuration. Any ideas?
Thanks
Edit: Found out it was the Lightflow app, uninstalled it and no more brightness dimming issue.

interesting. I had that app installed for a while, maybe it messed something up that uninstalling didn't fix. I guess a hard reset is in my future. sigh.
Hi,
I have a A501 and Just installed Tegraowner's ICS 4.0.4 rom
I want to know if I can control the a501's screen to dim after X seconds, then shut off after X minutes.. of my choice.
I would find this feature useful.
Ive tried wakelock and others but it keeps screen on DIM, and never off, sometimes an alert comes then doesnt turn off.. Battery dies..
So I would love a program or app that can do this, does anyone here know of any app I can use or some type of script or automation.
I wish android would have this as an option on screen timeout options.
thanks
Shaun
Hello, i got an issue with my Huawei Ascend G510 (rooted, using cyanogenmod 10.1 i think or idnknw but i know I am using ROM optimalised for Huawei Ascend Y300 so here might be the problem). I were doing some stuff on my phone like checking fb etc. and I locked my phone. After few seconds I wake it up, button backlight come on but display seems to be "dead". The phone works because when I "blind" do my unlock gesture I got the vibration feedback right. I know there was issue with my old phone (HTC Wildfire S) and when I set lowest level of display brightness in settings and then I locked the phone, when I pressed the power button to wake it up the backlight wont turn on and I had to restart the phone and then change the brightness and everything was OK. But on my huawei now I tried fastboot and recovery too but the backlight seems to be dead, i dont think its a HW error because when this happened I had my phone in my hand and I have not dropped it or shaked it so I really dont know whats going on. Had somebody teh same issue or I am the only one?
Hi all! I have problem setting brightness manually. When i set brightness level at minimum, the screen goes completely black. Hard reset and change ROM don't fix the problem. The phone is a nexus 4 :fingers-crossed:
EDIT: looking at youtube i discovered this video...the problem is the same http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvgt17sKQsU
who can help me?
Hi all,
I want to re-pourpose my old ZTE Skate (512MB 800MHz, Gingerbread 2.3.5, root) as a weathermaps display. The device shall boot right into my weather app upon power-supply-connected . After 10 minutes or upon power-supply-disconnected the screen shall get dimmed or dark. After an hour it may fall asleep but immediately continue with the weathermap display on power-on again.
The stock ROM won't even let me disable the screen lock nor change the power management the desired way. I tried My Profiles Manager which fits most of my needs but it won't auto start on boot.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Toshibashi
