i heard about region lock. my s4 is from kenya and now i live in Germany. Will region lock affect me?

I have Samsung galaxy s4 i9505 lte with a weired build number KOT49H.I9505XXUGNJ8.
It was originally from an Italian network company called TIM.
But now it's unlocked, and I haven't received the lollipop update while all of my finds did.
Plus I can't find a frimware with the same build number.
Is there any solution to get the ota lollipop.
