It seems some of the things I installed on my Note 3 also work on my Note 10.1.
Attached are 2 files: bootanimation and bootanimation.zip
1. Unzip bootani.zip
2. make a backup of /system/bin/bootanimation (I just renamed it bootanimation.bak)
3. copy bootanimation to /system/bin/
4. make sure permissions are -rwxr-xr-x (755)
5. copy bootanimation.zip to /system/media/
6. make sure permissions are -rwxr--r-- (744)
7. reboot and enjoy!
If you want you own custom bootanimation, just changed the bootanimation.zip file to whatever you want.

What other things work from the note 3? I'm getting a 10.1 for Christmas and COMPLETELY new to the whole note family.

So far everything I am using on my Note 3 works on my Note 10.1, except for some of the lock screens because they are used in portrait mode and I use my tablet in landscape mode (they work, just work only in portrait and not landscape).
You WILL enjoy your Note 10.1. Battery life is about 6%/hr, but is more now that I have a sim card in mine (mine is the P601: WiFi+3G), but still better than my ASUS TF700T Infinity.

These audio files were pulled from the Tmobile Jedi-X7.2-4.1.2. I take No credit for this...I just wanted everyone else to "Use the Force"
Of course you need to be rooted and Root Explorer[makes it easier]
Take the 2 attached files [Pen_att_noti1.ogg | Pen_det_noti1.ogg] and move them to your SDCard.
Navigate to System/media/audio/ui and find the current Pen_att_noti1.ogg | Pen_det_noti1.ogg make sure you have switched to R/W and rename both of the files to have a .bak file. Just in case you might have any problems[or just create a Nand backup]
Ex. Pen_att_noti1.ogg.bak
Now copy the the 2 modified files you placed on your SD and move them into the System/media/audio/ui
No need to reboot.
Now go into your settings>S-Pen>Pen attach/detach sound>Sound 1 and BOOM!!!!
Your Note II is now powered by the force

No need for this. Root explorer changes permissions automatically to match the folder destination its going to. Thats why I said use Root explorer in the OP. Its Noob proof

it like my favorite feature right.
i used rom toolbox and didnt set any permissions and it worked great. thanks for telling me root explorer sets permissions automaticaly, i did not know that

Me too. I had actually thought that the samsung keyboard was what came with android when I tried it in the shop but bought a nexus 10 thinking it's a better tab (well technically it is). Alternatively is there a keyboard that does handwriting as well as the samsung keyboard?

I had the galaxy note 10.1 at first but herd the nexus 10 was better. I miss the keyboard so I search all over looking for a apk file of the keyboard but came up empty. I know somebody can figure out this. Just need more people to help.
PS. I don't know a keyboard that's good with handwriting

I don't know if it's quite what you're looking for, but have you tried the ”PC Keyboard” layout in Android keyboard settings? It has slightly smaller keys than the normal keyboard layout, but maps a US style PC keyboard almost exactly including shift, tab and a full number row always on top...

the galaxy note 10.1 keyboard is something in the Touchwizz Framework there should be a release of 4.2.1/4.2.2 for GNote 10.1.
if they release it i will try to port the whole rom ( so full note 10.1 mode like multiwindow and stuff ) or port the keyboard if i find how to port one app ........

Do you have any clue if ink effect from Galaxy note II can be ported to the Nexus 10? As it's been ported to Galaxy S III (but I guess that's also something with the touchwiz?)

I was wondering if someone could port apk files from the Note 3 to the Galaxy Note 2 or other devices.
I'm looking for the folllowing apk:
•Action Memo lets you handwrite a note. (New S Note)
• Scrapbook lets you circle content you like, such as a YouTube video or a news article. It automatically saves and organises the content into a format that's easy to scroll through. Scrapbook, with its boxy format, looks a lot like social media site Pinterest.
• Pen Window, draw a box and launch an app like the calculator.
• I don't know the name but, it is the circle that pop up the screen when you're using the S-pen with options that show air- command.
Is it possible that someone can fix this for me please?

I'm looking for it too but it may be a moment ... people are enjoying their Note 3s! We just have to wait for a system dump to see what's really going on and it's being taken up in the Note III forum.

Unzip
Replace PowerOn.ogg in the system/media/audio/ui folder.
