Ok so a while back my galaxy player would give me 2 battery low warnings. The first was at 30 percent(I think) which was a robotic female voice. And the second was at 15 percent which just lets me know on screen the percentage. But recently it no longer gives me the first robotic female voice which was a lot cooler. My question is, why doesn't it warn me anymore? I'm pretty sure it wasnt an app. It was most likely connected with the stock rom.

I'm guessing TalkBack was switched on under Settings/Accessibility. If you want it, try enabling it again.

Ok thanks I think that was problem. But why is it talking for everything? Lol it never did that before. As I type this, it does commentary for everything. Even when I click something. Can I control what it talks back for?

No... TalkBack and any other Accessibility service with TTS functionality will speak everything you can read on the screen. TTS was made for people that can't see or that have problems.

Help. So I was playing robo defense. Got a text and it automatically read it out loud.
Was using handcent. Deleted robo defense and handcent and its still reading them out loud with stock messaging app. Phone on vibrate or loud. Doesn't matter...
I get text it says out loud number and message..
Update: when someone sends me a text it no longer automatically pops up. I have to turn phone on for notification of text and it to be read out loud...
How do I make it stop?? Please. Thanks.

Try the accessibility menu in settings.
What am I looming for?
Says no accesibility apps.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using XDA App
possibly a setting under 'voice input & output / text-to-speech settings'
I looked there. Don't really see any options. Is there a way to.turn it off completely?
It just turned on at random. Thinking bout putting it in some other language so no one understands it.
Holding off on factory reset. Until nexus comes out.

There's an app for that!
Did you install it?
This has got to be the most incriminating bug ever! If my texts got read aloud every time I got them, I would not be alive to post this here today... lol
I think you have some shady friend who downloaded an app on your phone to make this happen.

Defintiely did not install any app or let anyone install anything on my phone.
Again, it happened while I was playing robo defense, I received a text and it read it out loud while i was playing. It then started to read them no matter what.
Just did a factory reset. Hopefully that fixed it.

lmao... I can imagine the messages from my drunk friends being read out loud!!! Hahahaha... Hell, texts from my sober friends would be bad enough.
Glad you got it fixed, but also glad you posted this thread. It really made me laugh.
Same here!
I have this same issue myself, it must be a bug. Luckily it always stays on vibrate. It started out of nowhere and I don't feel like doing a hard reset yet. I looked at every single possible option and none were selected. Hope the next MR update will fix it! HTC and VZW are normally very timely and effective at updating their phones so I'm not too worried. I must say, I don't have a single other bug in this phone which is impressive for such new hardware these days.

I remember this happening on my hd2 on winmo. I think voice cmd had accidentally been turned on.
I hope you weren't sexting.
Ok, so my mom has a Photon and the volume (ringtones and notifications mostly) wont work when shes had it on silent for more then 30 minutes. Ive tried everything I can think of to fix the issue and nothing has changed. Oh yea and she is on her 3rd one and they have all had the same problem. If anyone has any thoughts Id love t hear them!
Thanks.

Yes its on the stock rom. She wont let me root it because shes affraid it something will go wrong.
Does the sound come back once you've rebooted the phone? I mean, taking it out of silent should be enough to unsilence it

You would think that unsilencing it would be enough but for whatever reason in this case its not but yes the phone has to be rebooted every time in order or the volume to work again but sometimes that doesnt even work.
Odd... the only thing I can think of would be to restore it back to a stock SBF, but that might not do much since you've had the issue with 4 other phones. You shouldn't hurt it though

Yeah I agree. I would factory reset, not install any apps, test and see if the problem appears.
On venom, can't really test.

I'm on venome as well, but for some reason... Verizon pushed the 135 mb firmware update on me. I keep denying, but it keeps coming back... How do I stop this or is it the Venome auto update? If so, how do I install the update correctly. Thanks in advance!

I just got the update, and I still have terrible buzzing... I'm getting really pissed about this!
I would say it's something wrong with your phone then. I use my music every day on the way to work on the bus and I haven't had any buzzing since taking the ota. I'm on complete stock never unlocked or rooted. I like this phone the way it is so I'm leaving it be. But the ota fixed it for me.

Please realize not all electronics are dependable out of the box. Nothing mass produced is. If you are having issues i would advise taking your handset back to the store and having it replaced. It's not supposed to "Buzz"

If you are on your 4th and all of them are buzzing, i would look for another explanation.. The odds of getting 4 with the exact same problem is minimal.
I think the buzzing has something to do with the LTE radio interference

I've replaced the mini to RCA cable in my car with a high-end cable, and I've tried multiple headphones. I understand the odds, but I don't know what else to blame it on.

I'm on my second one and I've tried a few different ear buds. Still lots of static at low volumes. I haven't flashed the new update yet though I'm waiting on the next Viper beta with the ota merged in to see if it fixes it. Its on Verizon's change log so it must not be very rare. I don't get this static on ANYTHING else but my DNA.

Hey all, I have a question for all you out there in XDA land, rezound county. Is there a way to prevent the torch app from timing out when the screen shuts off? It is really annoying, as the toggle and app day it is solo on. I have only encountered this issue on this device. My old T-bolt and Eris before that never had the issue. Is it an ICS/JB thing or device specific?

I tried to play with the code in the android.XML once. I was obviously unsuccessful. One thing i noticed is that it uses the keep screen on command rather than android.permission.wakelock when i changed it the app would force close so i missed something somewhere relating to permissions. I haven't messed with it in awhile but i may try again when i get my new computer
