Cubot CW9 add Google Maps API support
One of the problems of CUBOT C9W is not have Maps Api support and some software can't be install if need google maps
I add Here the files to update your CUBOT C9W after install the files reboot the phone
The files are in the folders necessary inside the 2 zip. As we can't flash zips from recovery you'll have to put the files in manually. As this uses google services you probably need to have GoogleServicesFramework.apk installed already in your /system/apps directory (to do this if you haven't either install the market which will include this step or transfer the GoogleServicesFramework.apk there and chmod to 644 like the others below [do this before you reboot as it will be required])
1. Extract the zip files on your computer
2. Copy the extracted files to your device
3. Copy com.google.android.maps.jar into /system/framework via ADB or Root Explorer
4. Chmod (long hold select file in Root Explorer and select permissions) to 644 (owner read/write, group read, others read)
5. Copy com.google.android.maps.xml to /system/etc/permissions the same way
6. Chmod that file to the same permissions
7. Restart your Cubot CW9 to allow it to recognize the new framework

Hi My friend the sell phone is sold in English but your language is in the list of Android sure you can change
---------- Post added at 11:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:11 PM ----------
Cubot c9w have a smal problem have a rom very small anyway if you think you can't install many app is not true
I play for many days and I solve the problem like that:
1.- Frist you need to root with framaroot
2.- forget link2sd and all that staff only make problems
3.- look in your phone is select save app in sdcard
4. look in Playstore for SDCARD CACHES PLUS BOOSTER PRO is also a no pay version a test version but work buy that version
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gejos.android.sdcardcachesboosterpro
5- Install the app and select the options exclude only some app from bidding process app like banks app and youtube
6.- Reboot your phone and start install app
That app is magic for cubot c9w if you get some problem any time with a bad reboot scard cache aplication can get superuser access or there and other bidding process go to the app scard cache aplication select delete all the bidding cache and reboot that solve the problem.

here's a link to sony's update utility:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/sup...eserviceapplication/xperiax10mini?cc=gb&lc=en
procedure:
1. download and extract to you descktop the newest GUI flashtool
2. in your phone go to settings ->applications-> and check unknown sources
3. in settings ->applications-> development-> check usb debugging
4. in you extract flashtool folder that should be on your desktop you will see a flash.bat file, open it to start program.
5. click on root and follow the procedure to start z4root and allow it to root and restart your phone, do not manually restart you phone, z4root will automatically restart your phone for you.
6. once your phone is completly restarted and functional, colse the flash.bat program and re-open it from the extracted program.
7. click on customise and allow it to fully install the applications, it will tell you finished when done.
8. mount your phone's sd card to your pc
9. download the root explorer.apk file from the download link provided and save it on you desktop.
10.copy the root explorer file from your desktop to the root of your sd card (do not put it in any folder)
11. unmount phone to computer
12. you will see on your phone that you have a program called astro, open the program,
13.in astro, navigate to your sd card and install root explorer.apk
14. once installed, exit out of astro
15. mount you phone again to your pc and create a new folder on the root of your sd card called new build, and create another folder called old build.
16. download the two build.prop files supplied in my download link and save it to your pc's desktop.
17. now open the build folder on your desktop and you will see two files, one called build.prop.claro and another called build.prop.vivo.
18.delete the build.prop.vivo file.
19. right click and rename the build.prop.claro file to build.prop (delete the .claro part)
20.drag and drop that file to you new build folder you created on your sd card.
21.unmount your phone from you pc.
22. on your phone, open root eplorer
23. scroll down to SYSTEM
24. find the build.prop file and copy it
25. back out of the SYSTEM folder and scroll down to the SD CARD
26. paste the copied build.prop file to the old build folder you had created on your sd card (its basically a backup in case you ever mess up)
27. now in root explorer, go to you SD CARD and copy the build.prop file from your new build folder that you initially downloaded and renamed.
28. scroll back to SYSTEM and click on the r/w button on the top left of screen
29. then past and overwrite the file
30.now exit out of the program and restart you phone.
31. don't worry if you phone menu system looks kinda wonky or doesn't really work properly once your phone has restarted. just make sure its fully rebooted
32.download and install the sony ericsson update service program from the download link supplied.
33. accept the terms and follow the instructions... (it will ask you to put your phone in recover mode by turning off your phone and pressing the back button while plugging in your phone via usb) you can make this process quicker by simply already having your phone plugged in and simply pressing and holding the top power button+back button+home button until the green light remains on.
34. the program will tell you that there is new software available for your phone
35. install and enjoy 2.5
Extras step to making the experience even better!
i personally don't like the boot animation of the new 2.1 update and would rather not have the claro operator logo at the boot startup. the way to do that is:
root your phone again by following my instructions earlier, and install the root explorer.apk file again from your sd card. once your have root explorer installed and working navigate to SYSTEM and then to MEDIA. in media you will see a bootanimation.zip file, simply delete it.
Now for removing bloatware (operator specific applications):
to remove application that may be of annoyance, just go into root explorer again and navigate to SYSTEM and the to APP and dele and .apk files that are programs like ei: claro.apk... make sure you press the r/w button whenever you want to delete or overwrite something in SYSTEM. And be aware that if you don't know what your doing, you can brick your phone. SO BE CAREFUL!
And finally, as most would already know, this is all at your own risk. Sometimes its better to leave these types of hacks alone if you don't know what your doing.
I take no responsibility or credit for any of these hacks. thanks to all the members on XDA Developers for your support and help.
There are steps to make it simpler ... which is independent of the version they have in the cell (2.1 Uk or other ... 1.6) is achieved by having the American firm ... thus reduce it without diminishing the tutorial: alex0983
1. Planet app install
2. Find and install z4root
3. Permamente root install and follow instructions, the phone will reboot ...
4. In Planet app also find the Root Explorer and install ...
5. Connect the phone and copy the build.pro (Claro) to the SD and disconnect
6. Open root explorer and if I get a message to: super user ... allow him ....
7. mounted R / W. ... go the SD route where the build.prop copy and recopy this time from root explorer and find the path: / system and replace the phone ....
8. Turn off the phone ....
9. Connecting to Seus and select repair ...! and ready ... your phone now is American again! And firmware 2.1
10. To remove things Claro, just make the points 1,2,3,4! then the path / system / media to copy the boot loader found in the forum and in the path / system / app to delete the applications they say. clear (remember to mounted R / W)
I hope you find it useful! And that worked for me! Obviously, thanks to your tutorial alex0983 which also served me as a whole, but I found the quickest way!
Sorry for my bad english!
re:
hey no problem, i'm glad you found it useful. Sorry for the 35+ steps... I just wanted to make it easy to follow for people who had never done something like this before. Just trying to help ppl.
Actually the tutorial is very well prepared but no longer so necessary to the root from the phone! And for that we are in the community to help and facilitate the process to other users!
Kudos for you alex0983 and kloriahdez, thanks for your posts!!!

[Q] Market.apk problem

I have deleted new market to get back old market, and I followd this procedure:
Code:
Procedure to use
Make copy of both downloaded files in your SD card.
Mount system as RW and delete the files name “Vending.APK” and “MarketUpdater.APK” from /system/app by the help of file explorer/Root explorer app.
Also do it manually by deleting the folders com.android.vending and com.android.vending.updater in /data/data.
Now reboot the phone.
Now again mount your file system as RW by File explorer/Root explorer.
Now after it copy the downloaded file “updater.apk” in /system/app/ from SD card.
Reboot the phone again.
Again mount your file system as RW by the help of explorer apps after restart.
Copy the downloaded file “market.apk” in /system/app/ from SD card.
Reboot the phone again.
That’s all.
But now I can't run market anymore, after hard reset I have these mesage from:
(process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly
now I can't install any version of market, please help
i think u forgot to give proper permission to the file. those step also didnt mention about it. improper permission for any file in /system/app folder can even resulting to bootloop.
Also, to get back old market, just uninstall market updates, start the market, then when it can run immediately go to titanium backup to freeze market updater. In my experience even mounting correct permissions may not work for some provided market apks.
Thanks for your answer, i dolved the problem with flashing to 2.3.4

[Q] Where is Google Play download cache located?

Hello.
I'm facing the infamous problem of "not enough space" when downloading from the market, while I actually have plenty of space. The ultimate solution seems to be moving download cache to the SD card (symbolic link). The problem is that the download cache with ICS and Google Play isn't located in /cache/download anymore, and I have been unable to find where it is located both searching with Google and browsing the filesystem.
Any help?
Look in the market for opda system tuner lite, it'll clean it right up
Go to /data/app/ and delete the Titanium Backup ODEX. If this doesn't work, read the PM I'm about to send you (moda will complain it's illegal (it isn't for this purpose though)).
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
Hello. Thank you both for replying, but you both answered a different question than the question I asked. I have already tried to clean market cache, to no success, and I believe very strongly that the solution is moving download cache to the SD card. I found lots of people with Google having my very same problem and fixing it this way. The problem is that I am now using MIUI ICS with Google Play, and the download cache location is different. Does anyone know where the download cache is located with ICS / Google Play Store?
Just to be 100% sure I also tried okmijnlp solution, and as I was expecting it didn't fix the problem.
Ok, solved the problem myself. The folder I had to link to SD card is /data/data/com.android.providers.downloads/cache. This worked on a MIUI v4 ROM (after rebooting).

Could you please advice how you have changed this, as i am new Android user hence not much aware how do go about it.
Hello.
I have bad news for you: after writing my last post here I realised that the problem wasn't actually solved (it only worked fine for a few hours), so linking that folder to the SD card is not a solution to the problem I was experiencing. However you are likely to need to link some folder to another one on your phone at some time, so I am explaining you these steps anyway.
First, you need to be on a rooted ROM. If you aren't, then have a look on the forum about your device here on xda and good luck for the rooting process.
Afterwards, you need the "Terminal emulator" application. If you don't have it, please download it from the market. Then run it and enter the following command:
Code:
su
This will give root rights to the terminal emulator app.
Now you can run the following commands. This will create the new folder on your SD card:
Code:
mkdir /sdcard/downloads
This should move all the contents of the "cache" directory into the new directory which you have just created:
Code:
mv /data/data/com.android.providers.downloads/cache/* /sdcard/downloads/
This should delete the now empty cache folder:
Code:
rm /data/data/com.android.providers.downloads/cache
This will finally created a symbolic link which has the same name of the old cache folder but points to the new folder on your SD card:
Code:
ln -fs /sdcard/download /data/data/com.android.providers.downloads/cache
I am not a Linux expert and I haven't tested these commands on my phone right now, so I'm not 100% sure that I haven't done any mistakes.
thanks for your reply
the solution didnt work for me as i dont have same .com folder. i tried searching on google and below steps helped in resolving the cache issue
1. You gonna need Android Terminal Simulator or equivalent terminal app. This will also require your Android rooted.
2. Type ’su’ (root permission request will be showned, you need to approve it).
3. Type ‘cd /’
4. Type ‘umount /cache’
5. Type ‘mount -o rw,remount -t rootfs rootfs /’ (to set the folder access to rw – read write)
6. Type ‘rmdir /cache’ (delete cache folder)
7. I personally using root explorer to do point 5-6
8. Type ‘mkdir /sdcard/cache’
9. Type ‘ln -s /sdcard/cache /cache (to link cache folder to /sdcard/cache – which should have bigger partition size)
Now i am able to download 30MB application on my phone from market.

Yes, it works for me using the root explorer under CM10.0. Thanks.
Hi!
I'm having the same trouble with not enough space, and when i run these command, it says operation not permitted. What to do? :/ It says thatsome sd card doesn't allow links?
Have you typed "su"? What happened then?
In any case, let me repeat that the procedure above eventually did NOT solve the download cache problem, if this is what you are looking for. The only solution for me was switching to a different ROM.
It's not need to use the console (Terminal Emulator). Just do the following:
1. Install Root Browser Lite (grand rood permissions if neccessary)
2. Delete the /data/data/com.android.providers.downloads/cache folder
3. Create the /sdcard/cache folder
4. Go to sdcard, select the new created cache folder by long press and choose 'Create shortcut' from list, you will see 2 buttons, 'Create' and 'Cancel'
5. Go to /data/data/com.android.providers.downloads/ and tap 'Create' button below
6. Enjoy!
You can use any other root file manager, of course.
The download cache was also at /data/data/com.android.providers.downloads/cache/ on the 4.2.1 jellybean ROM I'm running right now as well.
Thanks for posting the info!

Thank you for your extremely clear explanation!
Nevertheless, despite having resolved the problem of lack of space for downloading apps from the store, with the help of your expertise, now everytime i reboot the device it shows me the message "android.process.media has stopped..."
I know it is related with the shortcut for the cache downloads.
Do you know how can I fix it?
Thank you.
TX a lot

[L9 II] Permanent Root KitKat

After searching a guide about this on internet for weeks (without any result), i decided to post my own guide about Permanently Rooting a L9 II mounting KitKat (it also include two little scripts made by me, to simplify the process to newbies) :good:
Code:
[COLOR="DarkRed"]DISCLAIMER: I DONT TAKE ANY RESPONSABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE DONE TO YOUR PHONE[/COLOR]
P.S: You need ADB to be installed on your Computer.
1)Install TowelRoot (go to TowelRoot website with the L9 II and press the red Lamba, it will start the tr.apk download)
2)Open the "TowelRoot" application and press "make it Ra1n"
3)Install "Super User" and "Total Commander" from PlayStore
4)Enable "USB DEBUG" in "Developement" setting's
7)Download "init.engdo.post_boot1.sh" and place it in C:
6)Download and open Permanent_D605_KK_Root_Part1.bat
7)Open "Total Commander" , go into /system/etc/ , delete the original "init.engdo.post_boot.sh" and rename "init.engdo.post_boot1.sh" to "init.engdo.post_boot.sh"
8)Download and open Permanent_D605_KK_Root_Part2.bat
9)Enjoy
If anybody will ask for it, i'll upload a standalone .exe to do all this
P.S: I'm kinda new to XDA and English is not my motherlanguage, sorry about any mistake i could've made

When i try to push file init.engdo.post_boot1.sh with root_part1.bat CMD says: remount failed: Permission denied or failed to copy C:/init.engdo.post.boot1.sh to /system/etc//init.engdo.post_boot1.sh : read-only file system
Much easier instruction.
Most of the instruction in the first post is unnecessary.
1) you do NOT need any computer at all
2) no USB debug needed (because you do not need a computer)
3) two .bat files are also unnecessary to download
All you have to do is to replace init.engdo.post_boot.sh file, which resides in /system/etc
You DO need:
1) towelroot installed
2) a file manager with root capability (I used Root Explorer for example)
Instruction:
1) download the init.engdo.post_boot1.sh, using the link in the first post- download it to your phone SD
2) open the file manager with root permissions enabled, /system/etc must be accsessible for read/write
3) copy init.engdo.post_boot1.sh to /system/etc (using the file manager running on your phone)
4) delete init.engdo.post_boot.sh in /system/etc
5) rename init.engdo.post_boot1.sh that you copied to /system/etc to init.engdo.post_boot.sh
6) reboot
All this is great! But, you forgot one important thing:
TOWELROOT does not work on version 20D (which is increasingly represented)
But here you have an explanation for v20D so who wants to try:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/opt...4-4-2-v20a-t2964723/post57308650#post57308650
forgetting...
I did not know the 20D issue so I also could not have forgotten it.
Thanks for info. I just checked, indeed, I have 20A. Towelroot and the permanent root trick work in my case.
Thanks for the feedbacks
I know it can be done more easily using a file manager on the phone, but i tried to make the process easier for newbies (I'm still a newbie too, i did it for myself because i was lazy, but i decided to post it , hoping to help someone )

Thanks koxyman88, i didn't know about that
When i try to push file init.engdo.post_boot1.sh with root_part1.bat CMD says: remount failed: Permission denied or failed to copy C:/init.engdo.post.boot1.sh to /system/etc//init.engdo.post_boot1.sh : read-only file system

Mmmm strange, are you sure you have SuperSU installed, and TowelRoot started before restarting? (TowelRoot's Root disappear after reboot, and so SuperSu binaries)
the question is ... WHY?
I want to point out that I did permanently root my D605 with KitKat. Took a bit of effort but actually it was wasted time.
I did finally go back to 4.1.2 software, rooted it, installed TWRP and then Varcain's modified Cyanogen 11. It is so much nicer than rooted stock 4.4.2. All the efforts of rooting Kitkat and keeping the root were unnecessary exercise.
Because the Varcain's image does not have any bloatware I could even switch from Dalvik to ART and still have enough free space on phone.

[Q] I accidently erased System Folder

Hi, I really am a SuperBaka (a Super idiot :crying: )
I tried to install Gapps to my new Asus Zenphone 5 (A500KL) by this method :
Which is:
1.Root your phone
2.Install Root Explorer
3.Unzip Gapps and Copy SYSTEM Folder to Internal memory
4.With Root Explorer paste SYSTEM Folder over original SYSTEM folder
5.Reboot
I followed each step, until the 4. But unfortunately, instead of copying, I erased accidently my original System folder by coping into Internal memory.
After that, all the apps closed and since that when i turn ON my phone, I only can see the Asus logo...
Please help me to reinstall Android, I have this phone since only 2 days... I really don't know what to do and i panic beacause i don't have any warranty (bought on To2c.com)
PS: Sorry for my english, i am french (tell me if you didnt understand something)
PS2: It was on Android 4.4.2 Kit kat version
UP
Please Help me
Your only option now is to find a way to place /system back into your phone, which will require a custom recovery.
