Today I got my 32Gb for £115 inc VAT through work. Luckily for me I work for a Trade Only IT disti. It's coming on the lorry Thursday, with a hundred or so others for all the guys and gals here (at the office). TouchPad's will outnumber iPads here

I bought over the phone from Carphone Warehouse, so I had to vote "other".
Work for a distributor and they put 50 of each aside in our office for people to buy. Went pretty sharply!

Yeah I know . I've been playing around with it for 30 minutes and it's a steal at this price. Not worth £350 though. I heard HP were getting another batch in, so I'd be surprised if everyone who wanted one didn't get one. The IPS panel really is beautiful.

Managed to get mine from carphone warehouse, they had already sold out but I persuaded them to locate a couple for me. Received them today, very happy with it so far, the touchpad has massive potential.

Okay. So I can finally preorder. I need some advice on where to buy from. Should I pay the extra $40 at Gamestop because the TFP/Gamepad bundle still says 12/9? Or do I go with TigerDirect or B&H even though I think they have sold out of their initial stock and are just still taking preorders unlike Amazon and Newegg. I am in Texas if that helps you guys form some advice. Will Gamestop charge me tax? Who am I most likely to get it on the release date from? Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide!

Well you can always opt for the 64GB model. Not sure about where you're from, but here in Canada BB hasn't even put those up for pre-order yet! 32GB seem to be out of stock though. As soon as the 64GB is up for grabs I'm jumping on it.
I'm getting the feeling that once again Asus has undermanufactured their tablet and it will take them months to catch up with demand. We might be lucky to get one by the end of January.
I think I'm ordering the gamepad/tablet combo from Gamestop in hopes that the Dec 9th date is still good for the bundle. I hope its the amethyst gray version. Wish me luck.

I cannot make myself hit the preorder button on Gamestop for some reason. I think it is the lack of color selection. I thought I didn't care until it came time to order. Now I think I must actually want the Amethyst Grey. Not sure why I capitalized that but it is what it is.

Adorama just started taking preorders the other day, but they werent one of the original preorder sites. So i dont know if they will be shipping out the same day or not as the rest. You'll have to check that out. If i was to preorder now i would pick tigerdirect just bc ive dealt with them in the past.
Thanks rosco. I just preordered at Adorama. They show 'on or around the 15th' as a ship date but it was my last hope to not pay tax. Tiger, GS, & BB all charge tax to Texas. I ordered the 32GB amethysts grey and the dock with overnight shipping ($40...ouch).
Anyone have any idea when a Best Buy or Gamestop might get shipments in and have the dock for sale?
NCIX.com has the gray bilingual one listed as in-stock in Ontario and BC.. Ordered mine for in-store pickup at NCIX mississauga, should be there in a day or two.

Didn't work in what way?
Well mine worked and is full functional. His keyboard and mouse did not work however the settings key would work and that was it. So not sure what the cause is there. He is going to do a factory reset when he gets home. Will let you know status.

I picked one up last night as well.... got home, played a bit with HC, then did the ICS upgrade.... then my brand new tablet became useless, as I have the defect with it rebooting constantly - within minutes of boot it reboots.
Will call the manager and see what they are willing to do. I know I can exchange, and keep it on HC and be fine. It is a solidly built tablet - and a great price.
Will update everyone with what I do!

I'm super tempted... there are "10+ in stock" at my nearest (in Detroit) microcenter, but should I make the two hour round trip drive to get one or should I just wait for my Amazon order which is set to ship soon-ish?
Tough decisions... I want one, and that would be a $25 discount, but a two hour round trip drive seems just a bit silly.

I guess if shipping is free and you don't mind missing work so nobody steals it from your porch. Also hope there is nothing wrong with it so you don't have to mail it back to get another one.

Um... I just picked up an open box new docking station for $45. The store I got it from sold it to me as a "defective" unit. There was a customer who bought it and then returned it right away claiming he couldn't put the TF into it. Sure enough, the store personel tried to put the TF in and it wouldn't go in. They said there must have been something wrong with the locking mechanism. So, I bought it for $45.
When I got home, I promptly pushed the lock ladging thing to the left and put my TF in. Been working flawlessly.
