Hello. I have a problem with my phone. For example, when I want to uninstall an app, I click uninstall but it gets stuck at processing, and it stays like this, and the app doesn't get uninstalled.
As an other example, if it explains the problem better, when I enter in an app's page, it doesn't show me how much space it's occupying, it's just keep showing "calculating".
Can I get any help? Thanks.

For the first question, if u are using the settings to uninstall. Try using play store. Second. If u are using alot of space. It is normal unless its like a min or so.

Yes, I use settings to uninstall, because so I can clear the cache and app data before uninstalling so there won't be leftovers.
Not even the space is a problem, I have only half of the memory occupied, no SD card.
Edit: it's not like "a minute or so", it just stays like that, I left it 10 minutes and nothing changed, it was still "processing".

First. There is an app called Clean Master to wipe out the residual files tat apps leave when uninstalled. It saved me more than 7 gb of space total.
Two. Tat is weird. How much is ur half? Ur half can be 32 gb as there are 64 gb variants. But 10 mins still nth is sth wrong. Try copying out the big files to computer. Like the dcim folder.

Even if I was sceptical that this app might help with my problem, it actually did! It cleaned me 879 MB of cache and residual files of uninstalled apps, and after that I could unistall what I wanted. Thanks a lot, very useful app!
Edit: I've got the 16 GB version.

Well i used it and it is awesome. U can set it up such tat it reminds u to clean the space every week or month etc. And u can put a widget of it to clear ram. U can even uninstall apps using it.

Yes, but I could uninstall apps only after cleaning that cache and residual files. I don't know why, but I'm happy it is solved without the pain of backing up all the files and wiping + restoring factory settings/reflashing. Thanks again!

Hi all,
I bought my neo v last week and it was brilliant for 4-5 days. But nowadays the phone response very slow. When I come out of any app the icons take time show up. Earlier it happened only when I came out of games like temple run. Now I've uninstalled it. Now even when I came out if messaging or camera, the icons take time to build.
Sometimes during a call incoming, it takes long time to show the contract details.
Should I do something to check if everything is fine with the phone. I really doubt it is the speed of a 1 ghz processor. Also the ram has only around 50 mb free even only music player is running.
I've installed avira, which I suspect could be the reason for this slowdown. Im unable to uninstall either.
Could someone please help me with these for a android new comer? Please let me know if u needed more details to help me out.

Avira could be the cause, is it installed from market?
Find it Play or the phone's manage application screen to uninstall.
If it is still that slow then try a master reset, anyway it is just 4-5 days' thing to lose.
use superchager v6

Thanks. Im thinking of the reset as the final option if nothing else works. Manage applications can't uninstall avira. It says uninstall faulted. Will try thru play and let you know soon.

wifi disconnects may be router's fault too, some funky power saving crap i know my router has setting to kick clients when no activity is on it

Yes I've now uninstalled needless talk and power managers. It's getting better. But still I've only around 75 mb ram free. Most of the used part is occupied by system services and the software installed by se lyk liveware manager and data monitor. Any suggestion to stop them from unless needed? Anything other than rooting the device?

If you want to stop the bloatwares, you really need to root. You can freeze them or uninstall them permanently, just make some back ups. Have you tried resetting it? I mean factory settings reset? You should try it. Dont install battery savers, task killers and antivirus. It may slow down your phone and eats up your battery. Its better to restart your phone daily to free ram and reset it. If you have done everything but it still becomes slow, contact your phone dealer. You just might have yourself a factory defect phone
like what other said, root your phone or better yet, use custom roms. those bloatware is eating your ram thats why your phone is sluggish. as pandemic said use v6 supercharger to handle the memory.
It is a primitive sort of advice but if u don't want to root your phone...then try auto memory manager and set a parameter to autokill background processes...the processes u don't want to be killed can be whitelisted.
And try some kind of startup manager to prevent unwanted apps from launching by their own...but even then some of them would initialize bcoz of other events...that's where auto memory manager comes to play.
But last advice...its really a very good idea to root your phone to gain full control...service centres really don't care if you are rooted or not unless you unlock the bootloader.
Edit: am not sure if startup managers require root or not...it would have been stated in the app description.

Hey guys,
I'm having a weird thing happen with my internal storage on my phone.
I'm using stock XWLP7 firmware.
When I try and install an app it says I haven't got enough space, it tells me to delete 1.6gb (I'm trying to install a large Gameloft game)
Sure enough I look in settings-storage and I only have around 700mb available, but I should have ALOT more...... Where has it all gone?
I'm totally stumped and would be very great full for some help.
Here's a screen shot to explain my issue.
If I deduct the used memory from my total 11.49gb I should have 9.8gb spare! It tells me I only have 745mb available, does anyone know where it's gone? lol
Or why this happens?
Thank you guys!

Get app called sd maid and go through each section clearing stuff.
If you got cwm, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache, fix permissions and reboot.
Thats all i can offer, it may work!?
IRONY = XDA app, buggy and doesn't work properly!
Mod Edit - do not advocate warez
Thank you for your advice
I already have pro version if SD maid and regularly go through each section deleting stuff.
I also regularly wipe cache and dalvik cache. Probably do them both almost every other day!
Fix permissions whenever I install an app and I also zipalign all my apps.
So I don't really know what's going on..... It's really puzzling me.

The free storage displayed by the system usually only reflects the sdcards partition status, while the low space warning is probably talking about your /data/ partition.
Hi all, I searched but I couldn't find an answer to why it won't install any app when the internal memory is under 500mb?
Thanks

Hi there, I think that has got something to do with memory needed for storing messages, call logs, cache, passwords and things like that mate. If you have an external memory card, then i would advice having any music and photos on there. Plus try clearing your browser cache, deleting any downloads you dont need anymore.
Hope this helped.

I have around 410mb left.
It's not a big problem as I'm uploading to dropbox and plan to buy 32gb card next week but I wanted to know why is it like that and if there is a fix just in case .

Which ROM have you got?
You need about 1GB, because the apps are bigger, when they are unpacked (Installed) and they need to store their data somewhere, don't they
Try deleting some bloatware apps, or some apps you don't use and try dowloading again ^^
Hi guys, i just work up and i found the attached notification. I didnt even go to market for the past week iirc. For the past 3 days i am very sure i didnt. And i went to Setings -> Application i saw i was left with 14MB. It keeps jumping between 13 and 14MB free.
Anyone encounter this before? Can guide me where to start troubleshooting? Im gonna restart the phone first. But i hope to find out the root cause
EDIT: just tried and it is still persistent

I do surf the web but i do not download stuff often, including apps. Im on the stock jelly bean leak and philz kernel. I just cleared cache and dalvik from recovery but no help. My total apps size never crossed 1GB and when i came over to this rom i only restored what i needed only which i doubt it every crossed 600MB. I am on this ROM ever since it was released on xda and i have no issues until this morning which i find it odd.

Here's what I tend to do every now and then (about once a month or so):
Clear call and messaging log, reset voice call duration (I do this at the beginning of each billing cycle).
Delete text message threads
Clear the browser cache and history
Clear cache on downloaded apps (mainly Facebook and Facebook Messenger).
Move pictures/videos from internal memory to external SD card using "My Files"
That's all I feel is really necessary and even then it's more of a "spring cleaning" thing than anything else, just to keep things organized. I don't download and uninstall a whole lot of apps or anything either, everything is pretty much set up the way I want it with the apps that I need.
i just look through a file manager for pointless files and delete them
Leave it as it is. Won't change the performance of your phone.
Thanks guys. Not really looking for performance improvements. Mainly general housekeeping and space saving. Obviously not to much of a problem now but was concerned about long term build up.
