Hey Guys,
I got a phone here with NO IMEI or and invalid IMEI. I am trying to figure out how to get into the NV items of the phone to just put the "ORIGINAL" IMEI back on.
My main issues is how the heck do you get into this on an HTC One, or How do you turn on the diagnostic com port so I can do it using the qualcomm tools.
And NO. the kid did not backup his EFS before trying a custom rom.

First I'm so sorry if my question is similar with another threads. But I'm pretty sure I have been looking for the answer around the internet and of course XDA developer for a week. I follow every guide and method I found. But it still not answer of my problem.
I flashing camera driver I've got from my friend backup using TWRP backup. Actually I only need to choose uboot only to install. But I'm in hurry so I accidentally choose everything includes NVRAM. Since then I've got wrong IMEI on my phone because the IMEI overwritten with my friend phone. But it's not a problem because I can restore my original IMEI with MTKDroid & Tools.
And the problem is my IMEI is now back and corrected. But there is no network detected on the phone. SIM card detected fine. When I go to EngineerMode by pressing *#*#3646633#*#* and open Radio Information on CDS I saw IMSI field was unknown and Radio Status is turning on and off rapidly.
What I have done is :
1. Full flashing with the stock ROM via SP Flash Tools.
2. Change the IMEI with MTK Droid Tools
3. Change the IMEI with AT command ... echo 'AT+EGMR=1,7,"myIMEI1"' >/dev/pttycmd1
No result. IMEI is correct but no network.
I believe this is not a hardware problem, so please help me to solve this problem. Because it's my only phone to communicate with my whole families. I really appreciate with your help. Thanks.
hello, somehow my imei got null probably because of rom. I couldn't succeded restoring imei but I know the number so is there a way to write my imei manually ? Thank you.
Google RIFF box. Or you could try flashing some stock roms; sometimes the IMEI disappearing is temporary & flashing stock brings it back. Without a good EFS backup, you won't be fixing this easily yourself.
If flashing stock doesn't bring it back, my advice would be to take it to a local mobile repair shop/someone who knows what they're doing. It will be a lot cheaper than you paying for a RIFF box (that you'll never use again), plus, if you don't know what you're doing, you could bork your phone to the point where you'll need a motherboard replacement if you get it wrong.
Do the smart thing.
Hi everyone

Well I am not sure where the cert would come from for that but it sounds like the EFS folder got corrupted or deleted somehow.
I know I did that on purpose for a little while to get my galaxy tab 1 to work on a cell phone connection until tmo recognized it as an invalid IMEI I guess.
If you have a backup of that partition somewhere, you should be able to restore that and get it working again.
Flashing the samfirmware would not fix a efs folder issue.
by a accident i deleted my EFS file etc. when i was flashing a custom firmware. Then my phone was working correctly except my GSM.
I searched all the internet and i couldn't find a way to take restore my efs. Than i went to a local telephone technical service in my town and he fixed my phone. But i didn't realise he didint use my original imei. I used the phone a several months then suddenly my phone's gsm didint work. So i controlled my imei and it was "004999010640000". And now i need to change my imei number to my original one. How can i do that? i tried "IMEI MAKER/MP0B_001 file method", "MtkDroidTools" and "MauiMETA 3G" and also some other programs. They worked but specially IMEI parts didnt work.
So i need your help. If its a illegal thing. Just PM me. I didint do anything illegal an i need my phone back.

IMEI is send over your carrier database, they check all IMEIs over network, your IMEI probably was banned because used IMEI number from someones lost or stolen phone
So i sucessfully rooted this device maybe 2 weeks ago... however bricked it trying to modify build.prop ( i still dont know how to mount system rw on this device)
so when i didnt have the firmware backed up i kind of was stuck so i ordered a junk phone off ebay same model but imei was blacklisted i did a full backup of the firmware and was able to unbrick my original device.. however the problem i face now is that it also copied the IMEI number from the ebay one onto this one.... ive tried numerous imei changer apps , tried clearing nvram nvdata, all that stuff but still it has the imei from the ebay device..... Im not asking how to change imei number persay because i know that is frowned upon and iilegal in some countries... but is there any way to restore the devices actual imei??? its a MT6833 ( mediatek dimensity 700 5g k6833) TCL t767w (30 XE 5g)
do i need to erase all paritions before flashing to get my imei number back? where did i go wrong? when flashing the ebay phones firmware should I not have flashed a certin partition pertaining to the imei ?
any insight or suggestions i thank you in advance
I can't help you with your question, but if you don't mind how did you root the phone? I'm trying to do this myself with no luck. My phone doesn't boot in bootloader or fastboot. It used too when I first bought it but after ota update it went away
with correct drivers installed (mediatek) you can use mtkclient gui or mtk meta tool... basically have your phone turned off have the program running on computer and plug your phone into the pc and it should automatically detect it or you can hold down all the buttons and mtk client gui should pick it up, load it up, from there can unlock bootloader and , backup firmware, flash firmware and so on
