Great ROMS DCD!

The seems to be alot of people here that have devoted ALOT of time to making our Titans the products we always hoped our carriers promised. It is amazing to me that with all their massive infrastructures, engineers & support staff they just can't seem to keep pace with DCD, no2chem...the list goes on.
I am avid computer gaming and graphics enthusiast, home theater, XBOX hacker...building my own systems and am learning the ropes here on my Moguls (3 in the family). I have not gotten to the point of building my own custom ROM's for my specific needs..yet.
I just wanted to say thanks for spending the time making these units a better device for all of us. I can only imagine the hours it must take everyone involved. I love the fact that there are others out there still that say "F*** That!" when we are given crappy software by manufacturers and have the dedication to do what they seemingly cannot!
So Thanks!

Well then you have given me hope I can master this. On a side note, I hacked the old xbox along time ago with a Xenium ICE chip and now just received the Globe 360 v2 chip from Europe for the XBOX 360 to make that console more agreeable. Should be fun...
w00t xbox hacking!
im still waiting for some reliable solution for homebrew on the 360 though...
and thanks for the roms dcd, but youve got me reflashing my phone almost on a daily basis with the 2.x.x releases, lol
This is way off topic but I'll jump in. I used to hack the original Xbox to get XBMC, copy my games to HD to make them load faster, emulators, etc. I found the only real feature I used was XBMC and I was using it all the time. I personally don't play games all that much and when I do I like to play them online so ripping games wasn't something I did often.
Honestly, with the Fall 360 update I have zero reason to mod my 360. XBLA fills my classic game fix (I play Doom and Sonic ) and I can access all my media over UPnP.

Awesome Rom's DCD
First off, DCD your roms are amazing i wish i had the skill/talent/time to do the amazing work that your capabile of!
I too used to Mod xboxs (i was an x-ecuter guy myself), PS1's, PS2's and now my PDA!
Thank You DCD! I took am enjoying your custom rom update...GPS works great...just need to test the bluetooth now.
yea, thanks for all the help to dcd and everyone else. this is also off topic, but there is no way i would even buy an xbox 360 if i couldnt burn games, so bravo to everyone who hacks them, cause i did and 360 is better than ever

one thing that's good with GTA is that you can have the tablet upside down and the screen rotate so the usbadapter can be used while Prime is placed in a stand.

what is the most portable gaming controller compatible with the prime?

Like the title says, I like to find a game pad that is portable enough to carry around.
I see the zeemote available from Amazon. Anyone has experience with this?
It only has one analog stick...is that a problem?
ps3 controller?
It's not out yet
http://steelseries.com/products/other/steelseries-ion-wireless-controller
Can't wait for this one
http://www.icontrolpad.com/order/
I would love one of these for portability but they are spendy. It would fit inside a case easily.
I have the zmote, and it works well. It is very small, which some people don't like.
The steelseries looks pretty sweet too bad it isn't out yet.
the zmote doesn't play all the game tho right? since it only has one analog stick?
Small is what i'm looking for so zmote look okay too.
Been using the PS3 controller which works great. But a bit bulky in my laptop case. Looking forward to other options.
The Gametel bluetooth controller looks pretty portable. It is intended to be used with Android and iOS phones (hence the phone clip) however since it is bluetooth it should also work fine with tablets. It is also pretty portable.
The only downside is that it seems to be pretty hard to find 'stateside.
http://gametel.se/
The gametel one like the zeemote only has one directional control or analog stick so I don't know about the game mileage i can get out of it...
That Gametel one is a rip off the iControlPad anyway. I recommend every check the ICP out; it's made by the same people who made the OpenPandora.
My icontrolpad is in the mail on its way here now. Ill let you know how it goes.

How is the Gametel controller a rip of the iControlPad?
It has a different button layout, it looks completely different and best of all it doesn't have "i" at the beginning of its name.
I've got the icontrolpad since almost a year now. Bought it right when it first came out, and i have to say its just soo worth it. It has the perfect d-pad, better than ps3/xbox even, in my opinion. Also the analog nubs are really nice to have, and its the perfect mix between portability and comfortably to use.
You can even emulate xperia play control input (except the analog pads) with an app called BluezIME and the best thing is that most emulators have native support. For example n64oid has full native analog support on the icp. Zelda OOT is just a blast this way.
Well i'd recommend it to anyone who is looking for something portable and has a wide compatibility range. That thing connects to anything. If you one day decide to go for something from Apple (shame on you ) it even works with ios.
Oh have i mentioned, if you use it with your phone its even able to charge it while you're playing. It has a pretty big battery inside.
Sure its a bit more expensive than other products, but the ICP is an indy product and its worth supporting the devs behind it. They are always in the forums giving all the support they can.
I use a PS3 controller through Bluetooth and it is a great fit for me. Its smaller than an xbox remote or the on live or gamestop controller.
I think I am just going to wait for this one:
http://www.thinkgeek.com/electronics/retro-gaming/ecea/
It seems to offer the same features as most of the other controllers, yet is the only one offered at a reasonable price.
Can any of these smaller keypad emulate what sixaxis app can do where you can create on screen layout? If you're not familiar with what I'm talking about, basically you can overlay a virtual dpad, buttons, anywhere on the screen so when you press dpad or specific button on the controller it will trigger the corresponding onscreen overlay. This makes the controller work for any games not just emulators.

anyway, just received it today, and let me tell ya, the iControlPad freakin ROCKS. played some 30 minutes of Super Mario World on Snesoid on my prime and it is AMAZING. and now im thinking about using emulators on my phone, it is THAT awesome. (i have a ds flashcart, thus portable emulators would only be redundant, but the ICP is so amazing i cant NOT use em now!)
lighter than it looks, more durable than it looks, bluez ime makes it a BREEZE to setup, this is totally worth it

Future of Tablet Gaming

So, I bit the bullet and bought a Prime, I had talked myself out of it about 9 million times, was going to buy a used one from chin-a-ling (sorry mate) but my fiancee pushed me, and pushed me and I finally bought one... I am in love.
But the title says it all, I am wondering what the future is going to be. My hope is to end up being able to play Portal on this thing one day. With the fact that Bethesda has mentioned possible tablet ports of older titles, Valve has always been one to examine all unique possibilities. It would be incredible to be Chell running through the hall way, aiming and then tapping where I want the portal
Anyways, what does everyone else think? Looking forward to seeing what the major companies might do? Games you hope to see ported or even developed as a standalone counterpart from your favorite series?

I think tablet gaming especially on iOS has a bright future. Some of iOS's best exclusives have trickled their way to Android. But there is still a lot to be desired on the Android platform as far as games go. Currently EPIC is making fantastic games for iOS through ChAIR Entertainment. Hopefully they will one day embrace Android.
Well ios has infinity blade and usually gets games a bit earlier. That's about it IMHO.
Android has amazing emulators and most importantly full gamepad support.
There are also some really nice looking tegra3 exclusives coming. Definately infinity blade lvl of graphics.
I'd say the future is bright. Me personally I'm hoping for point and click adventures getting big on tablets. They perfect for touch control.
Gaming on tablets and Prime will be SICK! Just watch. Already amazed at the types of games I'm playing already. And I don't play b.s. ones like angry birds or whatever. Lol hardcore gamer here.
I used to be a hardcore gamer before I joined the Navy but after I got out I haven't had time with school, but I am a huge Portal/Half Life Fan, as well as a few of the other artsy FPS games e.g. Mirrors Edge. I KNOW the Tegra 3 can handle it, it is a matter of whether or not the big guys will believe in the future of tablet/mobile gaming. It is a growing segment of serious gamers, and I think that tablet ownership would increase as games become more innovative/complex.

And it works like a charm. It never ceases to amaze me that the first time I played day of the tentacle I had to clear my 40MB(!) hdd before I could install it, was supplied om an enormous amount of floppy disks, took ages to install and now I can play it on a apparatus small enough to fit in my pocket (in case of my galaxy nexus)...
They need to bring the Broken sword series to Android. I have both games on Ipad n loved them. Like a touch point n click. Graphics n storyline is very good.
I installed onlive and am playing all sorts of pc games.

There's an app or method to get apps not available in your area or whatever. I forgot what it was. I would think as long as you have a decent to fast internet connection, Onlive should work fine for you. Plus its a free app so technically someone could upload the free apk for you to use. Worth a shot.

Nothing now, I had to turn my Prime over to the wife as hers is going back to ASUS for a RMA;(.........
It's gotta be plugging my prime into the third party chassis that turns it into a great multitrack recorder with options for dynamic and condensor microphones, multiple instrument inputs and amp and stompbox models.
Oh, wait...no...
It's playing "Order and Chaos"
Oh, wait...no...
It's loading up the textbooks and presentations that I need for my nursing degree and highlighting, annotating and printin....
Oh, wait...no...
It's got to be the panorama mode on the camera - that is actually pretty cool.
and I enjoy Crackle, Onlive Desk for access to Office 2010, Mint for personal financials and square for taking credit card payments.
Hmm. it's true I do like those but they are not my favorite - really good uses though.
Ah! here we go -
Sketchbook Pro except for the wobbly diagonal lines is truly excellent.
Osmosis HD is addictive and beautiful.
Quell Reflect is nearly as addictive and beautiful.
Photoshop Touch is excellent.
Shadowgun THD is pretty sweet.

Starting scummvm and playing day of the tentacle, a game when played for the first time almost brought my pc to it's knees and now I can play it on a freaking tablet...
Reading magazines for less money then it would cost me to buy them as the paper version.
Instead of going through 3 1000+ pages of manuals on the job to find the exact working of one button or procedure, I click search in a PDF reader..
Bottom line, a/my tablet does not replace anything but makes life more simple/enjoyable.
