I think the best solution is to install a 3rd party launcher like nova or apex.

With DPI=182 effects are the same? Have You cleared cache? Tried another launcher (maybe KK Launcher)?
Ok i'v tested go launcher and this is the effect with 182 DPI
And this is with 240 DPI
It hard to say which is better quality of icon. I think that when we change the dpi all icons has little poor quality but this is my opinion. On 240 dpi i think that all stock icons has the best quality and every other makes fuzzy and unclear

Do you wipe cache and dalvik after changing the dpi? Maybe that helps
I once used 213 or 221 dpi on 4.3.1 and it was fine.Icons were clear.

Yes i'v done this cache and dalvik wiped. On CM 10.2 was ok on another dpi. I think this is icons fault in some launchers i will test it tommorow with few launchers. I want to have clear and small icons
Ok i'v done some resarch and...
Buuum!
Epic launcher is the bullseye
I set 200 dpi and everuthing looks gr8
If you set lower dpi the menu icon will be "uncomplete" little bug i think
But i think we can say that the problem is solved.
Fuzzy and unclear icons are google stock launcher problem.
Epic launcher solved my problem.
Not every launcher support multi dpi icon( i think)
SOLUTION
if you have problem with unclear icons in your launcher stock or not, find another launcher.

Hey guys, does anyone know if dpi changers work with these roms that are built on Samsung roms, or do they only work with aosp builds?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Yes dpi can be changed, you need a file manager with root permissions like root explorer and go to system - build.prop (change ro to rw) - open with text editor and you see something like lcd density. There you can change the number (320), save and exit and reboot. But i`am not sure what the lowest number is. At 240 touchwizz launcher crashes i know, maybe an alternate launcher doesn`t.

Yeah I want to set it to 240. I don't plan to use touchwiz so hopefully everything should be fine

yeah made one already, & I've already changed the dpi thanks to you, but I've noticed one issue. When I go to dial a number, the keypad doesn't take up the whole screen. Is there a way to fix that?

DPI changes do not work well with Samsung based roms because his framework not support redimensions. You will always have this effect. The only way you he to use dpi change properly is using AOSP, AOSP roms.
240 dpi
I have been using 240 dpi for a while now it has some issues like:
Dialer not aligned properly.
Camera button in phot mode only not aligned properly; but is completely usable.
SMemo not working when you try creating new memo.
Built in email not aligned properly; just as the dialer.
Calender Notifications not aligned properly.
Touch Wiz is completely un-usable; So make sure you change the launcher before changing DPI
Despite of these issue still 240 dpi looks gorgeous and I am planning to stick with it.
I used lcd desity changer to change dpi.
Caution: do not experiment much with different dpi settings as you may end up in boot loop. 220 dpi did this for me; luckily i had a nandroid backup.
But 240 dpi works as mentioned.

yeah im not fussed with minor things like that. I was running an AOSP Rom at 240 and it was perfect. but I've decided to try a Samsung rom for a week to see if its more stable or provides more battery life. and while running it, I would prefer to have it running at 240dpi and noticed that the dialer was a bit off. but its not a major problem. I rarely make calls through the dialer so its not an issue but was just wondering if there was a 240dpi touchwiz dialer available
This is just a simple guide to change DPI of certain apps and make it look like tablet apps (just the same way as in Paranoid Android ROMs). There's no complex method involved, no flashing zips and stuffs. Just wanted to share my findings with you guys.
Requirements:
Rooted stock ICS or stock ICS based ROMs (Tested on Viper Xperia v2.1)
Procedure:
Download and install latest Xposed Framework from here:
[FRAMEWORK] Xposed - (2.1.2)(05.02.2013)
Follow the How to install steps in the OP of the link.

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Reboot.
Now download and install the Xposed App Settings from here:
View File
After installation, enable the module from Xposed Installer.
Reboot.
After booting up, now you are ready to open Xposed App Settings to change App preferences.
Now let's proceed to edit the DPI, for example Settings apk to make it look like as in Tablets.
Launch Xposed App Settings.
Search for Settings.
Select it, and enable the toggle above.
Now set the DPI to 160 and Screen(dp,px) to 600x1024.
Click the Save icon and exit.
You'll have something that looks like:
Enjoy experimenting with other apps.
More Examples:
Walkman:
Friendcaster Pro:
Youtube:
Note : For those who are using small apps, its better not to play with SystemUI DPI.
One humble request, since many of us already know about Xposed Framework, so please don't spoil this thread for those who don't know. Thank you. :fingers-crossed:

Try your own values to make things look perfect to you.
And for the Walkman, change the dpi to 100, and screen (dp,px) to 800x1280, that will fix Landscape layout.

No. Instead, everything gets smaller, when you decrease the LCD density. To make things larger, increase it.
Usually we use this trick to make better use of the screen. More content and less interface area.
Try increasing the font size, or play with the accessibility settings. Maybe this can help you.

Those things certainly help. I wish you could modify the invert option. Triple tap to zoom is good. Just need a little more than the standard large or extra large font.
Thank you for the quick reply. Much appreciated.

You need reboot 2 times to verify if an app became incompatible. On 260 Botanicula, Bright weather and Angry Bird HD were blocked.
But if you don't use anything that is blocked, be happy! Like me, with the Nexus 5 on 261 (1 pixel before going into the world of phablets). ?

No difference at all.
I was able to install the 15 second adb installer on windows 10 and follow the directions from the thread to do this with no problems. Thanks.
The only small issue that I noticed with this was with the Xperia home launcher. I'm getting "unfortunately xperia home has stopped" as soon as I changed to 320 density. Also, if you try to change the launcher settings at 320 density the grid option and the shortcuts options don't show. I think it's a setting in the home launcher but I haven't figured it out yet. Sometimes it does it when I hit home from the camera app, sometimes it doesn't.
I mirror my phone on a 10" joying head unit and having the higher density really helps with android auto.
Thank you work like a charm. No issues at all.

So changing the density of the process^ works on the Xperia C5, Xperia Z5, and Xperia XA Ultra. However, I've upgraded to the Xperia XA1 Ultra currently on Nougate 7.0. The steps seem not to work. I found a workaround, but it has it's issues.
An alternative is to go into Developer Mode settings and change the "Smallest Width." The numbers are not the same as changing it with 'adb command prompt.'
When changing the dpi in Developer Mode settings "Smallest Width." There are multiple things that happen when across the board Xperias with Nougate 7.0; including Xperia XA1, Xperia XA1 Ultra, Xperia XZ, Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XZ1.
When changing 'smallest width' dp (dpi) between its original number 423; i.e. 540-599 the 'action bar' buttons move out of place in landscape mode.
When set to 600 dp (dpi) or higher, is in tablet mode and the action bar moves to the bottom when rotated in landscape mode (avoiding the warping of the action bar). However, another problem occurs; the file management system becomes locked. Gmail cannot attach a file, nor other apps cannot open it's file management system.
At first I tought this was a 'Write Access' problem, restarting and troubleshooting. I found out reverting the dp (dpi) to a lower density, the error pop-up disappears.

Guys, my navigation dock has turned from its mainly white color to a semi transparent light gray and it is harder for me to see it, depending what is there on the screen it can be almost invisible to see it.
This happened to me once, like a month ago, but it somehow reverted back to its whittish color (after phone restart or a theme change). However it has now been a couple of hours, I recharged the phone, changed some themes, restarted the phone a couple of times, but still the dock remains light gray and hard to see.
I also tried turning it off/on but still no change of its color.
Plz help.
This is on mate 10 pro. 129
Maybe u switched on eye comfort?
If nothing works its easier to factory reset phone.
Good luck
Nope, I tried eye comfort on/off as well. Nothing happens. The dock behaves as if the brightness was set to lowest, and after the brightness went higher the dock remained at lowest brightness setting.
Solved: changed the launcher, then turned the dock off/on
And I have another question, it is possible to change the color to transparent navbar? Is there any application

Not really an answer to your question, but you dont really need NAV bar on mate 10. It will take only a day or two to get used to nav dock. As I presume your question is because you'd like to see the more screen possible. With nav bar off, and nav dock on, you will have that. I have not been using nav bar at all for the 99% of time that I used my m10pro. Nav dock only.
I would like to order was like the picture but that was not autohide

Hi, can i ask the exact sequence you did to solve this problem?
I think I'm having the same problem as you do. It's not as white anymore and it's harder to see.
I'm using Nova launcher pro.
I tried switching to default, then switching back, then turning it on and off.
I tried turning it off, switching to default, then switching it back then turning it on..
Still no change.
Thanks in advance.
Double post
The other day it again turned pale for me, and I went for agressive few changes between the launchers, turning the phone on/off, but I have also turned nav dock on/off a few times, and all of a sudden it sprang back to life.
Just intensify these changes and the navdock will gain full luminousness.
I'm facing the same issue with my nav dock. It's irritating, because it should be something we shouldn't really have to bother about
