My Christmas Wish to Tablet ROM devs - Nexus 10 General

This is a reasonable request, and I think a lot of tablet users would benefit from it.
Since 4.2, we've lost the Tablet UI. For a while, we were able to get it back by tweaking a little bit of code. But in KitKat, Google killed the tablet UI altogether. This means our only option is to be forced to change the way we hold our tablets (never, google. Never.) or use a pie control that you either hate or you love. I hate it worse than middle buttons.
SO, my simple request to anyone who is baking ROMS for tablets, PLEASE give us the option to justify the softkeys to the left (or right) so they sit in the corner for easier reach. EOS did this and it was great. I hoped more would follow suit, but we got pie instead. Below is an example.

Awesome! I like to use my Nexus 7 as a test device since it's not my daily driver like my N10 is.
Now, the only thing left to do is wait for someone to get flash player working.

[THEME][Preview] Nookie Froyo Theme

While I'm not new to design, I am new to Android themes. This is my first theme and wanted to get some opinions. It's not completed, but before I got too far, I wanted to see if people liked where it was heading.
This will be for Froyo and I am hoping to have it released relatively soon. I'm kinda picky, though, so I'm likely to pick at it over and over again.
Update: This will be posted tomorrow (Feb 6th). Not sure on a time since my wife has been griping that I've spent too much time playing this weekend. Initially, this will be adb push. Not the preferred method so I will get a flashable version going ASAP.
Update Update: This has been released. Download with install instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944278

Nice! I can't wait to give it a go.
Me likes!!
That looks extremely sexy.
Thanks, everyone. I've got quite a bit done. Working on all the status bar icons now. If people don't mind doing an adb push, I can post what I have so far.
The biggest hurdle I need to overcome is changing the font color in the status bar. I've found steps on how to do it, but it involves some Java so I haven't got around to it yet.
As soon as I get done with the graphics, I'm going to start making my way through the XML files as well.

I'm running the emmc install currently and it works just fine.

My bad, here's the link to the release http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944278

Replace my prime with this.

Hey it works out of the box. No tweaking required and is not full of false advertising.

Put an ice cream sandwich on it and see if it runs faster!!!
Can we get an "Asshat" section setup to this forum and move some of these threads there?
Have you tried stripping one end of a extension cord and wiring it up to your device, see if you can get some more juice to it and overlock!! Also you may also consider adding a hamster + wheel for extra umph.
I know huh...I had to reply with that comment, couldn't help myself....we should have a TFP BS Thread section......would be at least a place for many laughs.
Is that 32geebees?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
No this one is latest model it has 128 geebees. No GPS though
yes but does it come in purple? I mean metallic grey?
If you take 20+ steps away, is the text still readable?
does it have a search option? if not maybe you need more geebees xD
is it faster than the overclocked HP touchpad a fellow member put a video up comparing Prime to? we all know how fast that thing is
Hey, and its already rooted! You can access all the files!
I needed this thread, I really did.

Really wish the Mods would start deleting these pointless threads.
Come on everyone lighten up a little. Be happy! Enjoy the comedy don't take life so seriously.
BTW: I have root access right out of the box and no encrypted bootloader. The nice thing about it is I can change the Rolodex cards to any style and color I want and I still get my warranty
I agree, among all this turmoil we can use some clowning.
*coughs* so.. Handwriting recognition is great, too!
The best part is that you don't have to buy a stylus! It also works with a BIC Pen! Now that's what i called backward compatibility.

[Q] JellyBean 4.1 for Galaxy Tab 10.1V?

Has anyone started working on the JellyBean 4.1 for the forgotten device 10.1V?

Just was reading http://www.engadget.com/2012/06/29/jelly-bean-port-passes-the-butter-to-the-galaxy-s-iii-rom-flash/
... and in-patient
Right, be patient, first the devs works for the biggest smartphones and next the forgotten =)
I hope we do get it! should be cool to see! although kernel wise it's going to be a major challenge!
always thought jelly bean would be the name of android 5 ?!
Isn't there a rule about to not making your intended question a statement as the subject title?...
i'll be honest. when I saw "Jellybean 4.1 for gtab 10.1" and it ended up being a question to whether or not it has been done... gotta admit... i get a little angry at the OP for posting something so misleading.. .

You're completely right. Changed the title by adding a question mark.
Sorry for disappointing you.
Two points.
Firstly, questions go in the Q&A section - not the Dev section.
Secondly, it's rude to sit there and ask for ETAs. If you're really that worried about getting a Jelly Bean ROM, then you're free to start working on one yourself.

Yeah. 4 years, and Google still can't make a smooth device.
I wanted to buy this thing, but I'm not so sure now. What's the point of such great hardware if the software can't handle it?

A gif?
Also, look up, the word "gullible" is written on the ceiling in 72 point helvetica font.
Well, maybe you could look at the gif and see that it's the Nexus 10 still having the same performance issues I had on Android since my very first Android...
Thing is, I was promised that the OS would be smooth/that it's beta software/that an update will fix it/that it's just one site.
And it's NEVER like that. Out of the five Android devices I owned (all high-end, I must add), not one didn't have any lag.
Five Android devices, five broken promises.
The device will be smooth, but I must admit that Chrome can stutter like this, If you used Dolphin or AOSP browser it just doesn't happen. Google dropped the ball with Chrome, it should have been updated faster, by making it the stock browser they are hurting the Nexus 10's reputation, this a a quote from the The Verge's review
"Not everything's perfect yet: scrolling in the browser can still be stuttery at times"
If Google had used stock AOSP browser, then perception of the device smoothness would have been much better. I cannot understand why Google released the device when a major part of the software was not bringing its A-GAME.
Are you crazy? Nexus 10 is super smooth you wont believe it, what does that stupid gif tell you? Buy the device and you will see. What a silly impression of the nexus 10-.-"
Let's wait until the device comes out before we start making claims about its performance.

more than likely it won't work with the 4.4.2 firmware but might work with the Xposed Framework according to this article on sammobile.com:

This doesn't seem very practical. What is the point of putting a case on a device that doesn't the basic thing it's meant to, protect it if it falls?

I know, it's not mine. My friend (a girl) just looked up the internet, like the model and just borrow my local online shop account to buy it. :silly:
