[SOLVED] some help please? i can only boot up into cwm(nothing else)

i dont know if this is in the correct section, but i REALLY need someones help. basically i rooted my friends phone, installed cwm recovery, and then i went to test cwm recovery to see if it was working ok,( i dont have the optimus v so im not too familiar with it) any ways, i couldnt figure which button was used to select an option in cwm. so i figured something went wrong when i installed cwm, i basically gave up and just did a factory resest from within the stock rom(not in cwm) forgetting you need stock recovery to do this. now it wont go to anything BUT the cwm recovery screen, i figured out the camera button is the select button, but i tried flashing a few roms via cwm, and when i reboot the phone it just goes straight to cwm recovery everytime..some one please help, i dont wanna buy him a new phone, im pretty sure this is fixable. if you can help, a big thanks from me

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 unable to turn on wifi.

Hi, my Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3.
My device is bought in Singapore.
Its my first time rooting my device.
Ran into a problem that I couldn't turn on my wifi anymore. (tried wifi fixer app and turning airplane mode on and off)
I have successfully rooted my device as verified with the Root Checker App.
I have downloaded all the files from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2330598
I should done all steps correctly.
After I have done those steps, I downloaded Simons_JB_Rom_v100_based_on_AMH1.zip
from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2374899
Transferred it into my phone then I proceeded on installing the Custom ROM.
I've backed up my stuffs through the the recovery.
I have reset my phone to factory settings, wiped the cache partition, wiped Delvik cache.
I did a restart but i did not see any "Yellow exclamation logo".
After all, I proceeded on to install the ROM.
I cant turn on my wifi from now on. I've tried to download the "Wifi Fixer" app but it wont work.
I got a feeling that I have not erased my previous stock ROM but I proceeded on to installing the custom ROM.
Any kind souls out there who can help me or give me some links that I could refer to?
Thank you in advance! :fingers-crossed:

You need to do a complete wipe and install a stock rom and verify if the phone works. If it does then start again with rooting etc. If not return it for a replacement or repair.

As mentioned in the first post, I did it all correctly? i think i am only unsure on how to do a complete wipe. i restored back to the previous backup. it is working again. but i wish to have a custom ROM installed.

Just install the custom Rom over the top of the old one, no need to do factory reset or wipe anything. The custom roms are based on stock anyway.
Try that and see how it goes.

I have same problem like you, and I finally fail back to stock rom of my region. Then get the root access and delete all bloatware.
So any update of your case, maybe we have the same root cause
I know that this thread is very old but I didn't want to make a new topic on something that was similiar to the problem I was having, apoliges if making a new thread was the right thing. I just really need you all's help.
I'm in need of some assistance.
I have my Galaxy Mega on Metro Pcs. Woke up today and decided to root it or at least ( attempt ) to root it myself. I looked up a couple tutorials and eventually did it. BUT, due to me being inexperienced I didn't make a "backup" of anything.
So now, I'm stuck with a Galaxy Mega that seems to be rooted on another platform other than Metro's. I also am unable to use the Wifi feature, and it seems that I can't transfer files via USB - PC
I tried reverting my mistake but I don't think I'm flashing the right thing. Can someone please guide me in the right direction as to flashing this Mega back to the way it was. I don't want to bother with the root anymore, I just want the phone back to the way it was.
I'd really appreciate any help you gentlemen could give me.

you can get the firmware from here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=SGH-M819N&pcode=0
download the zip file. than unzip it and flash it through odin.
That site doesn't have the firmware for the U.S. Galaxy Mega 6.3
Any other link I could try?

I followed the link but I don't see where the it says United States after I check Galaxy Mega 6.3
I could be doing something wrong, but I'm sure I'm choosing the proper Mega Model.
After I click country, there is no option for America/United States

Okay, i really screwed up the previous installation as I said which rendered my screen inoperable. What exactly would I need to install this coming from 4.3 which I believe my replacement phone will have ?
There is a chance my new phone will have 4.1.2 installed coming from the factory which will make me not need to reinstall 4.1.2
any help would be appreciated I believe I need to update my firmware as well before installing this...i'm not really sure what that entails ... I may just not install this at all if I think I can't get it done correctly or if it will make the same mistake as last time
For anyone that this happens to and I know there are others, the fix is really easy.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1672425
Just grab a copy of a completely stock 4.3 RUU from tmobile and then just use that above thread to restore it back to 4.3. It's really really easy.
In a nutshell you will just make sure to have adb and fastboot and you will be able to communicate with your phone even without having USB DEBUGGING on. The RUU will do everything by itself. The thing is that when you start that program it will spend a few minutes opening up. You will think it's not doing anything but just wait or even open up task manager and you will see the file working. Slowly it will get bigger and bigger until it finally starts up as it unlocks the files needed.
I didn't even need to go buy USB OTG to use a mouse to help turn on USB DEBUGGING.
The really strange thing is that somehow my old homescreen pic stayed throughout this whole ordeal. lol
thanks again to blackangst for helping

[Q] Help! I think i bricked my S3!

Hey guys, basically, i'm new-ish to flashing, but i was able to do it following all instructions. Yesterday i installed an s5 theme from this site that caused my phone to have problems such as the wifi not working. I was reading that flashing a custom kernel might help, it didn't.
So i woke up, entered my TWRP custom recovery and stupidly factory wiped everything, now my phone wont get past the 'Samsung galaxy s III' screen, it just stays there. I have no idea what to do, i'm dumb enough not to make a recovery file before i started all this so i've ****ed up there.
If anyone can help me get my phone back i'll be extremely happy, i just want it working again! I have work in a few hours and really hope to fix it before then! Any help is appreciated.
Download a stock rom from sammobile.com and flash it the way you flashed TWRP.

It sounds like you might need to flash a ROM before it will boot. Your contacts, texts etc are gone if you wiped /data though.

[Q] Questions on Rooting GS4

Hey guys, I've recently come across a VZW GS4 and I'm stuck on rooting. I know nothing about Samsung phones so this is pretty new to me. How do I flash in ODIN? Just the same place as the NC5, under AP?
EDIT: Okay so not in ODIN. Like I said, I know nothing about Samsung devices. Seeing as how it is a .zip file I assume I need to flash it in a recovery on the phone. I jumped to conclusions with the wifi fix so I am now going to actually look up the proper way to apply it.

Is safestrap just the stock recovery or is it a custom like TWRP or CWM? And another thing, whenever flash an old firmware so I can root, it doesn't seem to actually change. I'm still at NK4 every time I change it. You know what I'm doing wrong? I've looked into a few different posts nothing is working. I've tried towelroot and Kingo.
And I suppose I should actually address your reply instead of just going on a tangent, I did and it put the phone in a bootloop and I have yet to address that. I just reflashed NK1 deal with it for the moment.

That is the thread I've been looking at most actually. But I just can't catch a break. Every time I try to download the files I want, my G3 fails instantly and my friends Wi-Fi just won't download at all. I think I now know an even better reason to why I've never bothered getting a Samsung haha.
