Hi,
I am from India, using an Z Ultra. I was looking for a bumper case for it and stumbled upon a cool one in eBay:
http://www.ebay.in/itm/Ultra-Thin-A...-Case-Sony-Xperia-Z-Ultra-Black-/281162345171
But it is so expensive. Rs 2636.
If anyone have stumbled upon a cool bumper for the Z Ultra, which is a bit cheap, please post:angel:
Does the silence mean that nobody knows about a cheaper option in India?

I've been searching for a long time.... Other than the one which you posted and another (nearly same price), I haven't found any bumpers. Aluminum ones, that is.

eBay Global Easy Buy
I picked up a black aluminium one of ebay GEB. Turned out slightly cheap. And the phone looks amazing with it. http://geb.ebay.in/g/ImportHubSearc...tra&catId=&qbtn=Search&_trksid=p2052119.l1440
Most of cheap aluminum bumper cases are un-reliable due to no protection in between the case and the phone. It gives u more scratch to the phone if the bumper is not tight enough. Plz ask seller about it.

Realize this is an older post, but was wondering if the bumper degraded your cell or gps signals? I have been thinking of getting one but read where some people have issues with them.
thanks

Hey, sorry for the delay in replying. Even though the bumper looks very cool, I have realized (the hard way, though) that you will not be seen using it all the time. First of all, the added bulk, even though very little, does not justify the usage
Secondly, the bumper may not be so comfortable to hold, may be cos of the edges
Thirdly, it does not play well with the Xperia Z Ultra design language. This is not as beautiful as a Nexus 4 bumper, i would say
I AM NOT USING THE BUMPER CASE anymore :cyclops:

Thanks again

It sounds like we all want the same thing... To keep the beautiful design visible and be minimalistic. Can you post where you got the clear case you ended up using and your thoughts on it? I would really be appreciative.

It was a hard glass case. IMAK Case. It scratched my device on the sides. I took it and threw it. Now no case
Silicon cases might be the best option
oh man I'm sorry to hear that. That's kind of a nightmare and it sounds like we need to keep away from bumper cases and this all glass case.
Hey guys
I wanted to test the build quality of my phone so I took it out of the case. Amd grabbed it from both sides and slightly flexed it
It makes a bit of a creeking noise to which concerns me a little, could this be a fault and result in the waterprofness not working?
Let me know if it happens when if you flex yours, the sound seems to come from the lower right hand corner

I'm not talking about bending. If you put some stress on something for a period of time, it'll start to weaken and then probably creek. I don't know how old you are, but i remember when i had the Nokia 3210/3310/3410 etc. which had plastic back covers, and they would start to creek like hell after i'd removed the covers a lot.
If your thigh bumps and puts stress on the frame of the Ultra for some time (walking and sitting a lot with it in your front pocket, for example), it'll start to creek. That, i can tell you.

You can submerge it in 1.5m of water for up to 30 minutes I believe.

Hey guys this is well and truly a sad post
I've had my phone for nearly 3 weeks and on the second day I went out and bought a screen protector and a case for my phone as I wanted to keep it in prestine condition
Unfortunately, they didn't have back protectors. Which is the area that has scrathed the most !
They are light scratches except for one where you can feel it just slightly, and the others ( which there are a lot ) you can't.
I normally have a case on it but when I'm at home I take it out and let it be free aha
Have you guys got ant on yours?

I have always put a screen protector on the front and the back. I buy big ipad screen protector and cut them to size for foth size
I got glass in front and regular screen protector on the back of mine so that I still can use most cases without issues.
Dropped phone, now something appears in front of the front facing camera internally. MOD EDIT: Warranty and returns are not for accidental damage Thoughts? I'll upload pics after work.

My S4 had the same problem. Took it to a repair guy who is comfortable taking the phones apart - it's a little gasket that looks like an o-ring that slips down in front of the camera - easy fix.

I have the same issue with the front facing camera, only I never dropped mine. I started playing with the front camera on Friday and noticed a shadow along one side. At first, I thought this was some kind of filter I had accidentally applied. When I could not find a way to turn it off I thought maybe the top of my case was causing it. When I looked close, I saw that the top half of the camera was being blocked by this gasket. I took it to T-Mobile and they exchanged it as a manufacturer defect and I have a new one arriving today. Once the new on gets here I'll post some pics of the bad one.

Fair enough, but as stated directly following your message, someone had the same issue, took the phone in and was replaced under warranty so our previous talks prove factual, dropped or not this is a warranty issue, not fraudulent?
Either way I appreciate the work you do to keep this place tidy, thanks man.

I sure try... Thanks. The difference with the post after mine is the phone was never dropped. Warranty is for defects. Insurance is for accidental damage or bricking your phone. My statement was meant for just that, if you do drop it then responsibility should be taken and it is not proper to ask here if you can get away with getting it fixed under warranty.
Cheers
Kenny
Here are the pics I mentioned. Hopefully this does not turn into a widespread issue.
Front camera.
I have the same issue, didn't drop my phone. But the oring has shifted in front of the camera. Im wondering if I send it in if they'll fix it or just send a new one? Because I have a spigen glas.tr screen guard on it and I don't want to be out the money on it. I'd prefer they just fixed it.

Front camera defect
Hi guys! I just joined this site to share my problem with my new Galaxy S5.
It's been weeks since i got my new phone from T-Mobile. I love it! It's a expensive phone so a good cellphone case is a must. I have a case and screen protector to protect my device. Suddenly, I just found out the same problems you had with your phones. I've never dropped mine either. So I think it's gonna be a manufacturer defect. Something is blocking the front camera. Again, I never dropped my phone, it doesn't have any scratches on the screen and any dents on its body.
I went to my network provider and ask for help about this issue. They sent me a replacement phone (Galaxy S5) after 3 days then I sent over to them the defective one. They said that it depends on the manufacturer/service tech if the phone defect is under warranty or not. I'm still waiting for them to check the phone. Or else I'm gonna be charge $175 out of warranty fee!
I'll attach pictures of my previous Galaxy S5. I hope this is not a widespread problem. Share your thoughts too! Thanks!
It's a bargain for $5, check out the video for more details.

I second this, the fit is anything but good. There are rather large gaps around the screen which defeats the purpose of having a screen protector.
It has poor fitting(large gaps on the side). Pretty thick compare to other protectors. Are you sure you got the temper glass protector? I find it hard to believe you got it for $1. I paid $6 and it's a waste.
I paid $16 for a flexible glass protector by iloome. Now that's worth the money. Great fit.
I have 0 gaps on mine, I think it's user error. If fits perfectly & I even have a case on mine. I purchased 10 of these for 10 different devices & good investment.

I have the spartan glass on the galaxy s5, and by far its the best one I've tried! I was planning to buy the same for the G3 but they are out of stock and then I see the negative reviews!
More to the point, the video actually shows the flaw everyone is talking about: Even though you have pushed the glass further from one side, the other side, still has a small gap! even ignoring that, the fact that you have left space on one side but the other side hasn't gone off the screen means the fit is not perfect. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great value but I can see where the complains are coming from.
Thank man for the video review nonetheless.

I saw no issues with it & fits fine for me. But if worse comes to worse, I'll just contact them & get it replaced. Their CS is AMAZING!
The edges of the screen protector don't go over because the gap is very minimal when I attached it, if I would have removed it & put it on again I'm sure it would have fit fine.
I'm just glad you don't even notice it with a case on it & it doesn't lift at all.

I don't know where all these rave reviews are coming from, maybe I got a bad unit from XtremeGuard. The glass protector is very thick, it feels sticky to the touch, it doesn't line up well and there's no cut out for the camera. If I hadn't ordered it a month ago for 90% off I would have sent it back. Now it will just sit collecting dust.

It can't be user error because if there are gaps its a manufacturing error not a user one. A user can't make the protector smaller.

Exactly. If you have room to push the screen protector over and it leaves a gap on one side then it doesn't fit.
All the protectors I've had that have the "gap" makes them case friendly. I prefer that myself, but to each their own I guess.
