Don't you know it is not allowed to ask question in DEV section?
Answer to your question is filled all over XDA.
Here is one of the good one:

Make sure that You are rooted and took backups.
There are a file in system partition what you should change.
/system/media/bootanimation.zip
or sometimes in /data/local/bootanimation.zip
You can find a lot of bootanimation in this forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=527
Just type "bootanimation" to search
And of course what hakneo said: your phone have to be rooted.
yeah, but in my file expert i can't delete the old one, and copy new one
Use my bootanimation installer

this is bcos your phone dont have root access.
after rooting, make sure you use r/w access for replacing bootanimation.zip
For God's sake, please stop asking questions on development thread !!
Dear community,
several months ago, i swore not do modify or anything with my after a soft brick, but since this day legs were annoying, so today ich got rooted again and wanted to speed up all things a little bit as described in the forums here.
I also removed the "build.prop" ot better renamed it to "build.prop.bak" because off the" Install the Pimp My Rom app" as it was written in the description on modification in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2230779
now after the asus/tegra logo, i get stucked on a black screen and do not know what to, i think i´ll first try to put an update.zip file on external sd, but don´t know if it functions,
via adb, the device is not found by my computer, do you have any ideas what to do? please please please help
i hate it, such a nice, beautiful, expensive device, but delivers bad performance.....
problem solved....if somebody got questions contact me

Do you have a recovery flashed? Normaly under "Advanced" there is a File Manager with which you can rename the build.prop.bak to build.prop again.
Otherwise you can always flash another ROM.

nope, the last chance to get things working, was to flash the official image from the sd card...
Hi guys, before I start I'll say that I have searched all over the internet and here on the forums and I couldn't find my particular issue. Well the thing is that I edited the line in my build.prop "ro.build.version.codename=REL" to "ro.build.version.codename=L" so I could get the material design on the Google Now Launcher pulled from a Android L build here's the thread I got that app: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-android-lollipop-apps-launcher-apps-t2912905
I did that and now my device will boot up normally then I will reboot by itself then show the boot animation then repeat the same process again and again until I force the phone to recovery or fastboot.
By the way my device is the LG Optimus G (E970) running GEE 3 ROM 1.2 and TRWP 2.6.3.0 and I have a backup of the original build.prop on my PC. I don't want to lose my data and apps since I forgot to make a backup (silly me).
I would like to know if there is a way to push the build.prop file on my PC to my phone so I could just replace it, or create a flashable zip.
Please help me, and thanks in advance.
Nevermind. I managed to push the original build.prop file to /system set the correct permissions and now my phone is working again.
Admin feel free to delete or close this thread.

how were you able to do it when you couldnt get past booting.
I am trying to change my boot animation on my HTC desire 626 but I've run into a snag. I cant rename the stock boot animation to something else so I can add the custom one. I initially tried using adb to change it but it said permission denied. I then tried using Root browser and I still cant rename it or delete it or anything. I can copy it and paste it (for a back up) . Other than that, I am unable to do anything. My phone is rooted and also has a custom recovery. I'm not very experienced as you may have noticed, so any and all help will be appreciated. I've seen someone say to change the permissions, but I have no idea how to do that.
