[Q] bootloader.. is different from note3? - Samsung Galaxy Mega

Or to be more specific, is the bootloader of the note 3 unlocked yet? If it is what makes it so dificult to have our mega to unlock.

Yes..Every single different device has a unique bootloader, just as they have specific firmware, modems, and kernels. If you mean does the mega i527, have a similar locked bootloader to the att note 3, then yes i believe so. Although, the method would be similar to unlock it, we have yet to break the note 3 n900a, we only have safestrap a custom recovery workaround. I have an att note 3 running safestrap, a note 2 att i317 that just got 4.3 and they locked the bootloader on the 4.3 update so. I guess just be are from now on, all att devices will have locked bootloader unfortunately.

Update to Casual for unlocking 4.3?

Does anyone know if there is going to be an upcoming update to the Casual software for unlocking bootloader on the newest firmware (MJ9) on the verizon galaxy note 2?
Or is there another tool for doing that?
I mistakenly did the OTA from verizon and I now I am unable to find a method for unlocking bootloader to install a custom recovery. Is safestrap possible for note 2?
thanks

I agree it worked for rooting the device, but I still can't install custom recovery, which means the bootloader is still locked. Anyway to unlock that?

Yes that works for rooting and no there is no way to currently unlock the bootloader on the 4.3 OTA.

Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app

safestrap

Since my note 2 has 4.3 and a locked bootloader I understand I cant flash custom roms its rooted though. Is there a safestrap version that works it looks like it could be a very long time maybe never if we get this 4.3 bootloader unlocked.

[Q] Looking for a one click root . I am running Android 4.4.2

I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (SCH-1605) that is running android 4.4.2. I am currently out of contract with Verizon and I would like to start installing custom roms on my device. However, the latest OTA update has my bootloader locked down like Fort Knox. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike

You can use a method in the general section to get root, which isn't one click, but you have to unlock the bootloader to install custom recovery to flash roms which can't currently be done on 4.3 and up for this phone.

If the Note 2 that you're considering purchasing has Android version 4.3 or 4.4.2 on it, there's no current do it yourself method to unlock the bootloader.... so you could only root and use safestrap.
Android 4.1.2 is the last Android version for the SCH-I605 that you can unlock the bootloader on.... so if the phone you're looking at has 4.1.2 or earlier on it, you can unlock the bootloader.

OK what about the sprint note 2? That's what I already have but didn't want to be stuck with 3G only.
Sorry, but I'm only familiar with the Verizon Note 2.
