[ROM][STOCK][4.4.2][N7105XXUFNF2][Rooted || Deodexed & Odexed || KNOX Free] - Galaxy Note II N7105 Android Development

Code:
[FONT=Tahoma][left]This rom is build from the original [URL="http://www.sammobile.com/"]SAMMOBILE[/URL] source firmware.
I remove [URL="http://omegadroid.co/wanted-knox-void-warranty-0x1"]the Knox crap[/URL][/left][/FONT]
.
The 4.4.2 bootloader isn't include in the rom but:
For those are on the 4.4.2 bootloader you will have "KNOX 0x1 WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY FOREVER" blame it on samsung but rom will function as intended even if you use original kernel
For those are on the 4.3.1 bootloader you will have "KNOX 0x1 WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY FOREVER" blame it on samsung and for wifi to work you must install AGNI Kernel.
For those are on the 4.1.2 bootloader the rom could work normally with AGNi Kernel include in rom
Features :
Unbranded
Removed all Knox things
Aroma (with option to add some tweaks to the rom and choose between original or agni kernel)
Unlock external SD Card writing for all apps
Rooted (SuperSU v1.94)
Multilanguage Keyboard and Fonts
Installation :
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP
I recommend installing Rom via Philz CWM Recovery (v6.48.4). On install do a wipe Data/Factory Reset and Clean to install New Rom.
Flash My Rom.
You are done. Post a little message here if everything work (or not)

[ROM][STOCK][4.3]N7105XXUENC3][Rooted || Deodexed & Odexed || KNOX Free]
This rom is build from the original SAMMOBILE source firmware without removing anything just the the Knox crap and add the Chainfire SuperUser binaries .
If you are interesting i will provide late some little modifications to make it more optimised and debloated but for the moment here we are:
The 4.3 bootloader isn't include in the rom so:
For those are on the 4.3 bootloader you will have "KNOX 0x1 WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY FOREVER" blame it on samsung but rom will function as intended.
For those are on the 4.1 bootloader (as me) you won't have "KNOX 0x1 WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY FOREVER" because it won't be installed but wifi don't work so you must install the Devil Kernel or AGNI Kernel.
Features :
Original Kernel
Unbranded
Removed all Knox things
Rooted (SuperSU v1.86)
No others modifications
Installation :
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP
I recommend installing Rom via Philz CWM Recovery (v6.00.8). On install do a wipe Data/Factory Reset and Clean to install New Rom, then reboot recovery
Flash My Rom
Wait for the first boot (wi-fi probably won't be working)
Reboot recovery and flash Devil2 Kernel or AGNi Kernel
You are done post a little message here if everything work (or not)
IF YOUR USB IS NOT WORKING AFTER FALSHING DEVIL KERNEL FOLLOW THIS INSTRUCTION (Thanks to baddesthad for posting and trickyhurl for sharing).
I make this rom for the pleasure and to participate on this forum which i learn a lot of things, but please consider a small donation for maintaining the upload quality and the storage space on the seedbox.

Thanks for the new ROM.
The latest XSP (Singapore) firmware has higher changelist number (2229877) compared to the MK9 (2138564). Not sure why it wasn't used.
-----------
In the description rather than saying latest versions of X and Y, can you update the exact versions of the Super SU and Philz CWM Recovery you have used.
Also, the link isn't working in the sections below. Kindly update them.
1. The KNOX CRAP
2. "IF YOUR USB IS NOT WORKING AFTER FALSHING DEVIL KERNEL, FOLLOW THIS INSTRUCTIONS".
------------------------
For time being, to get the USB working,
1. Dial *#7284#
2. Select qualcomm settings
3. Select MTP +ADB option
4. Save and Restart (if needed).

Op updated, thanks ysrini.
I will make the same for the last XSP later but the new samfirmware download server is very slow !!!

I have the widi not working after the odin 4.3 update. Can i just flash the kernel to the stock rom. I have this singapore version. PLease help. Dying without wifi. Thank you.

@sadiqsabia
You could try the devil2 kernel if your model is compatible but normally if you have a 4.3 bootloader with an original kernel your wifi must be ok.
If it doesn't it's because you have a 4.1.2 bootloader so you can try reflashing your Rom with odin or the devil2 kernel.

I meant the startup shows Devil Kernel because i flashed it. But after reset to factory default. It doesnt go beyond. Sorry can upload photo as now i trying to do all over again

@sadiqsabia
My Rom is a actually a MK9 version not a ML3. You could try it or make another wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache and reflash the devil2 kernel.
@thedadio
Yes from the v2.2 version there is a devil boot logo

Hi, thanks for the ROM...at least now our phones have more choices for TW ROM...
Anyway, those who wants to use the stock kernel, you must have the 4.3 bootloader but be known that you will get the knox issue and your warranty will be voided. You will get the wifi working as well.......
Another alternative if maintain the 4.1.2 bootloader but then you need to use the one and only one kernel available for now which is Devil's kernel. I have tried this kernel and all is working fine except the gyro part is still a little unstable yet(you will know once you try a compass apps). Once you are on the Devil's kernel, your wifi should work also.
I am hoping Dr.Ketam will also have a patch for us like he did for N7100, so that we can also use the stock kernel.......
Enjoy peeps and thanks again to the cook.....

Thanks I really like the TW look

If you wait a little, I make some test with the devil kernel and I can tell you that with a professional use of my phone (call, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi all day) I don't have to charge my phone once a day even with this wakelock!!!
Look in the devil2 post there is really good init.d script.
The things that eat up the most my battery was all Google things like location, Google+, Google now,etc....

I will wait ...and thank you ! happy new year to all devs like you.

[Q] Little help flashing to cyanogen

Hey guys.
I just bought a samsung tab 2 10.1 and want to flash it to cyanogen to get the multiple users that comes with android 4.2.x
I havent flashed in a while since i updated my i9100 to 4.1.2, so i thought best to flash my i9100 to cyanogen first to try it out as my phone is already rooted. I found a few guides for installing cyanogen to my phone using cwm recovery to install from the SD card.
I remember rooting my device back when i updated it to 4.1.2 but when i tried to boot into cwm is would boot into the stock android recovery.
so i figured i needed to flash cwm recovery.
after checking all kies processes were stopped i flashed the kernel "GT-I9100_ClockworkMod-Recovery_4.0.1.4" , but the phone would not boot and hang at start screen.. as a plus side i now had access to cwm recovery from boot... ironic.
so i booted into cwm recovery thinking to install cyanogen mod as i thought maybe the rom wasn't compatible with the kernel?
but noticed that the cyanogen rom was not present on the menu in cwm recovery, must of put it in the wrong place. I was now thinking to get my phone to boot into 4.1.2 that should still be on the phone, since the current kernel wasn't working i flashed "Siyah-v5-MCM-i9100-vsync_sysfs-20130217" in hopes it would be compatible.. still no luck with it booting. but i still have access to CWM recovery.
Any thoughts on how i should proceed? if i can get cyanogen onto the SD card should i install it via CWM?
little lost at the moment. been a while since i done all this.
here is the information i noted down before i started today.
4.1.2

Philz kernel lss flash that through odin. Reboot to recovery, do the wipes and and reboot. 4.1.2 should boot up then. Then move custom rom to int sd and flash away. Philz installs custom cwm. Once you have flash custom rom philz will be replaced with stock custom kernel with cwm built in to it.

I'll give it a shot, is the Philz kernel you mentioned this one?;
<< 03.06.2013 - PhilZ-cwm6 v5.06.1 with CWM 6.0.3.2 based recovery >>
I'm not to sure what kernel version i need.
how would i find out this information ?
Many thanks.
Edit:
I noticed in my previous notes i made when first flashing my phone a year or so ago. The kernel i used was this;
3.0.15-I9100BGLP8-CL317471 [email protected]#3
It is now kernel version;
3.0.31-863787 [email protected] #3 smp preempt thu jan 31 12:20:07 kst 2013
which has no reference to previous kernels. but my current baseband version is: i9100xxls8
LS8 stands out in both... so would using PhilZ-cwm6-XWLSY-ORA-5.10.0.tar.md5 work on my phone?
Lss will work as it for 4.1.2 it just has newer cwm installed.tar is for odin. You could get the zip one and put on an sd card put bk in your phone and flash it like that. Make sure its zip not tar for flashing in cwm.
Thanks

Thanks, that worked. opted for no installing the nightly version of cyanogenmod as i would like something more stable on my phone.
I've been looking at Resurrection Remix 3.1.2 or CM1UI Jelly Bean.
Is the Philz kernel i installed a widely compatible kernel or should i install Siyah ? my last attempt to install Siyah kernel lead me to write this post.. how would i go about installing a more widely compatible kernal with out ending up in a hang screen again ?
Kind regards and many thanks.

By 'compatible', you mean the kernel works with many ROMs?
Philz is a stock based kernel. So it only works on stock based ROMs, and depends on the android version and the build versions (like LSS, LSJ, LSD etc). Siyah is more compatible, because it only depends on the android version (like JB, ICS or GB).
You had a bootloop before after flashing Siyah mcm kernel, because the mcm kernel supports AOSP 4.2.2 ROMs, not stock JB.

To avoid bootloops after flashing a kernel, use these tips:
1. Flash only kernels supported by your current firmware. Suppose you are running stock JB and you want to flash AOSP 4.2.2 ROM. You might be tempted to flash Siyah mcm kernel (because it supports AOSP 4.2.2). But that would end up in a bootloop as Siyah mcm doesn't support stock JB! :good:
2. Use a kernel cleaning script before flashing any kernels. :good:

Thanks for your reply, i have a few questions to try and understand.
Would i be right in saying;
When im looking to install a new kernel and/or Rom. My check list should be;
1. Kernel to phone compatability. I.e my phone is LS8 so i look for LSS/LSY/LSD soforth and so-on.
2. Kernel to Romcompatability. I.e Philz is a stock kernal hence why it works with 4.1.2 stock Rom.
So if i want to install Resurection Remixed i believe its a modified stock Rom so it should work with Philz?
As would cyanogenmod as it is modified stock?
Or is even that modified to much?
If i want to change both kernel and Rom, would it work if i installed for example siyah kernel then boot into CWM recovery and installed from there a new Rom?
Im looking to try out a few roms on my i9100, mainly Reserection remix, and other cyanogenmod clones with light modification as i enjoy the stock android experiance.
Also looking to install cyanogenmod to my p5100 tab. Flashing Philz p5100 kernal and then installing superuser through recovery and then installing cyanogenmod 10 stable version?
thanks for reading and taking the time to anwser my previous questions.
Many thanks
Serathian.

Don't worry, things can be a bit hard to digest at first.
Let me make it easier:
1. U are currently using a stock or custom ROM, but you want to change the kernel (without any plans to flash a new ROM). In this case, you need to select a kernel that is compatible with your current ROM.
2. U are on a stock ROM, and you need to flash a custom ROM. You want to flash a kernel to root it and install CWM (to enable u to flash a new ROM). In this case also, u should flash a kernel that supports your current stock ROM.
3. U are on a custom ROM, and you want to try another custom ROM (which may require another kernel to support it). In this case, you DON'T need to flash a new kernel that will support ur new ROM. You can flash the new ROM directly. All custom ROMs come with their own supported kernels bundled in the ROM. So, after flashing the new ROM, your current kernel will be REPLACED by a supported one from the new ROM.

So my breakdown would be I'm using a Stock ROM with Philz kernel rooted and CWM. I want to Install Resurrection Remix which is a 4.2.x ROM, Philz is a 4.1.x Kernel so i need to install a new kernel to support Resurrection Remix? or would that come with its own Kernel?
And for my tablet. I flash Philz kernel and install superuser to root the device. so now its stock Rom with Philz kernel. So when i install Cyanogenmod Rom it will install its own Kernel or do i also need to install a Kernel that supports 4.2.x?
Or is it Firmware version based Kernel updates that happen when you install and new custom ROM?
i.e Running 4.1.x kernel and installing a 4.1.x Custom ROM will update the kernel, but installing a 4.2.x ROM will not?
vice versa Running a 4.2.x kernel and installing a 4.2.x ROM will update the kernel, but installing a 4.1.x ROM will not?
Kind Regards, I appreciate your time for reading my mind numbing questions.
Serathian
For you i9100 just flash the rom using philz cmw recovery and once its done you will have a custom rom with custom cm kernel which is rooted and has cwm with it. I would say to format system ,data, cache and preload before you flash it using philz recovery and make sure the rom and gapps is on int sd card were you can find it.
As for the tablet make sure philz is compatible with that tablet first!! Dont just flash it on that thinking because its 4.1.2 it will work.
Btw with philz also come with root access too.

No, you don't need to install a new kernel, because flashing RR will flash a compatible kernel (included in the ROM) by itself. :good:

Don't overcomplicate stuff mate. When you flash a ROM, the kernel contained in the ROM will be replace your current kernel. Simple.
Thanks a lot!!!
I installed RR to my i9100 and cm10.1 to my p5100.
I'm having a little trouble with i9100 device though, I keep getting random sim locks on the device.. Not sure what could be causing it. It didn't happen on stock 4.1.2.
The devices will be locked and when I wake it I get prompted for the sim lock code. I now have the sim lock on my phone deactivated but I'm fearful that even thought I am not getting prompted for the sim code, the sim could be de-activated while the phone is in sleep thus not connect to the network?
Could be a loss of signal activate a security feature of the sim. Or a problem with the kernel?
Kind regards.
Many many thanks for all your advice into helping me understand a little better.
Serathian.

If you're sim locked, then you want the app 'Galaxsim unlock'. Search for the xda thread, the OP is spocky12 if that helps you find it. It won't be kernel related. And, test it for yourself. See if you get messages /calls / push notifications while your screen is off & phone is sleeping.
Sent from a galaxy far, far away
The i9100 was originally sim locked, but I paid someone to unlock it, once I got the phone back from him "unlocking" it. It was apparent that he has flashed the device with a new kernel and ROM in order to unlock it... Not to sure of the process. A couple months later I flashed 4.1.2 as it wasn't available as a update on the ROM he installed. The phone re-sim locked and I downloaded the app you mentioned and unlocked the phone successfully, been happily using it up until I installed RR. Now I'm suffering from random pin locks. The phone connects to the network and functions perfectly, apart from said sim locks.
My only fear is missing important calls if this lock is causing network disconnections. Can I log network functions and connectivity to see what's causing it?
Regards

[Q] Rooting i9100 4.1.2

I'm trying to root+cwm my brother's sgs2 to bring it back to life (so much lagg).
I've done this with my sgs3 but it's tedious trying to find the right method and files for this particular device.
I have searched these forums but am not reassured that I'm going about this the right way to get the rooting process over and done with as there doesnt seem to be much info on rooting 4.1.2. Better to be safe and ask than to be sorry...
Device Info:
PDA: i9100XWLSD
Phone: i9100XXLS8
CSC: i9100ojvls6
Basebrand: i9100XXLS8
Build: JZO54KJ9100XWLSD
Kernel: 3.0.31-889555 dpi @ dell 228 #3 smp preempt TJ31 14 48 54 KST 2013
Android version: 4.1.2
This thread says I have to look under kernel version for something similar to 2.6.35.7-I9100XXKG1-CL349526 but this info seems to have been moved from kernel version with 4.1.2.
I'm guessing that i should use CF-Root-SGS2_XW_OJV_KF1-v4.0-CWM4.zip based on my CSC but don't see anywhere in this thread if I can use this rooting method for 4.1.2.
This thread also asks you to look at kernel code similar to XWLPX-NEE but this does not exist under kernel version on my phone. Now I'm not sure if I should use XWLSD (bootloop fixed) or XXLS8-FOP (Jellybean) as both of these are relevant to my device info.
Or should i use this method and run superoneclick later?
Any clarification would be thanked and appreciated!

use a custom kernel (eg siyah,dorimanx...etc)that comes pro-rooted and CWM installed.
link for dorimanx kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1617219
link for siyah kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1555259
download the TAR version of the kernel and flash it with odin 3.07.
how to use odin:
download odin http://d-h.st/SdH
boot your phone in download mode (Press and hold the Volume Down key, Home button (middle key), and Power button simultaneously. A warning message will appear on the next screen. Press the Volume Up key to continue).
open odin, click on PDA,choose your downloaded kernel, and start flashing.
hope it helps.
No problem asking, but its not that there isnt much info about rooting, its that there is far too much.
My answer depends on exactly what you want, with a view to present and future desires.
If you want root and cwm you can flash apollo/siyah or philz kernel. You can do it by odin, or see what signed zips are available to use stock recovery.
You should also run a kernel cleaning script.
So what you're saying is kernel version, csc etc. all dont matter as long as its simply an i9100 running 4.1.2 when using the above siyah/dorimanx/phillz methods?
I intend to keep it as stock as possible (my bro's terrified of rooting) until he sees its safe and wants features only available in other roms at which point i'll probably use cyanogenmod with no custom kernels.
My question (how to root when on 4.1.2 for my particular hardware) is probably what most new rooters for the i9100 come to this section of the forum for today. But unfortunately the stickies give you the idea 'do not use this method unless made for your exact device!!'
or maybe its just me...
i think i'll go the philz route for pure stock experience. i have trouble figuring out which version i need based on what my about page says:
XWLSD (bootloop fixed)
or
XXLS8-FOP (Jellybean)
??

I'm trying to root+cwm my brother's sgs2 to bring it back to life (so much lagg).
I've done this with my sgs3 but it's tedious trying to find the right method and files for this particular device.
I have searched these forums but am not reassured that I'm going about this the right way to get the rooting process over and done with as there doesnt seem to be much info on rooting 4.1.2. Better to be safe and ask than to be sorry...

Wow i don't know what you guys are talking about
But if you just need to root your device why don't you try
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2130276
1-klick and root
And if you need to install cwm you just have to download rom manager from playstore - he will automatically install the latest cwm for your device

No. Do not use Rom Manager on the I9100/T/G/M/P. At all. Ever. It will break recovery/cause bootloops eventually, which will require an wipe and/or an Odin flash to recover.
Besides, any recovery flashed on its own on this phone will only persist until the next reboot anyway, due to recovery being baked into the kernel/not on a separate partition like many other devices.
Flash a custom kernel of your choice = rooted phone + CWM & you can then flash whatever custom rom/kernel you want from there. No need to flash CWM separately.

Didn't know it shouldn't be used on these models, only tested it with my phone.
however how do i know which model he is using? I'm a bit confused know
Nevertheless, sry for giving false information, never would have thought it could break the phone cause it says in rom manager it will find the fitting cwm ...:screwy:

All good Yeah, Rom Manager breaks stuff. You might get away with using it for a while (maybe even a long while), but in most cases it do the things I mentioned sooner or later. CWM has everything you need anyway.
How do you know what model someone is using ? Ask them.

Well okay but for me it worked, i just used it to install temporarily cwm. Afterwards i flashed a new rom and yeah ...with that you have cwm anyway.

Well this didn't go at all as I'd hoped even if it could be worse:
-rooted using Philz XWLSD (fixed for bootloop) and confirmed supersu was working
-made a nandroid backup in philz
-did a data wipe>clean for new rom as planning to install cm 10.1.3
-wiped cache & dalvik cache
-realized i should probably make a 'clean' stock version first to give my bro the option of choosing stock or cm
-restored the nandroid and rebooted
Now I'm stuck at the samsung logo on boot. Not sure how to go forward as this is my first boot issue ever after flashing 50+ roms on the s3 using cwm.
Installing cm thereafter resulted in no issues but it'd be nice to know i could go back to stock if my bro wanted

Well i don't really see a reason why the restore didn't work. I would try to make a complete wipe after restoring and than run the backup again...sometimes that helps ...
If no try to flash a custom rom first with the same Android version like ur stock rom and afterwards try to restore ....
It sounds not very logical but i had to do that often :banghead:

Apparently the problem was that philz does not backup the /preload/ partition by default which results in the bootloop. The only possibility is flashing the original fw via odin and trying to integrate that /preload/ partition with my current (incomplete) nandroid. Will need some time to test this as my brother is currently quite happy with cm.
Yeah.....I've run into that preload issue with PhilZ myself........
There is a thread on here by Chainfire for one of his creations called mobile Odin.....it allows you to flash a firmware 'in phone' without the use of a PC or PC based Odin.......
With regards to integrating two partial backups.....I'd be surprised if that worked.....integration IS probably possible..... But then you have to modify the MD5 file in order for the recovery to accept and flash the integrated backup.....from what I understand, the MD5 acts *like* a numerical 'bar code'.......
In the same way that a bar code is linked to a specific product, the MD5 is linked to a specific backup or other flashable zip.....I believe it 'encodes' the size, number of folders/files etc......if the MD5 info is a mismatch to the zip, cwm 'scratches it's head' and refuses to flash it........

[FONT=Tahoma][left]This rom is build from the original [URL="http://www.sammobile.com/"]SAMMOBILE[/URL] source firmware removing [URL="http://omegadroid.co/wanted-knox-void-warranty-0x1"]the Knox crap[/URL] and it is NOT ROOTED because of the new bootloader.
YOU HAVE TO ROOT IT MANUALY.
I try to include all the S5 apps which work on our devices and themed the others to look like S5[/left][/FONT]
The 4.4.2 bootloader isn't include in the rom but:
For those are on the 4.4.2 bootloader you will have "KNOX 0x1 WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY FOREVER" blame it on samsung but rom will function as intended even if you use original kernel
For those are on the 4.1 or 4.3 bootloader you must flash another kernel to have working wifi like AGNI Kernel. but you WON'T HAVE "KNOX 0x1 WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY FOREVER".

Features :
Unbranded
Removed all Knox things
Aroma (with option to add some tweaks to the rom and choose between original or agni kernel)
Unlock external SD Card writing for all apps
4 Way Reboot
S5 original apps: Launcher, weather, music player, video player, keyboard, gallery, browser, Photoeditor, Mms, MyFiles, calculator, magazine, media, boot animation, email, splanner, downloadprovider, wallpaperpicker, flipboard&evernote, SNote, Voice, Phone, Contact, SystemUI, Sfinder, Quick Connect, Story Album,ect..
S5 Themed: Framework (as i can), Settings, Clock,ect...
Installation : You must install Chainfire SuperSu to manually root the rom: (SuperSU v1.94)
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP
I recommend installing Rom via Philz CWM Recovery (v6.26.6). On install do a wipe Data/Factory Reset and Clean to install New Rom.
Flash My Rom.
Boot and follow the setup wizard.
Shutdown it
Boot in recovery mod (vol up+home and power)
Flash (SuperSU v1.94)
You are done. Post a little message here if everything work (or not)
I make this rom for the pleasure and to participate on this forum which i learn a lot of things, but please consider a small donation for maintaining the upload quality and the storage space on the seedbox.

Post corrected thanks.
Woww. Thanks man! It's indeed a surprise.
Is it a odex/de-odex version? And it doesn't include a modem right?
And I guess for people on 4.1.2 bootloader, wi-fi and everything should work with the latest Agni Kernel v 4.0.0 .
Waiting to try it out after my backups
Great, thank you
Great to hear that someone is doing a new rom for the 2 year old phone, will try it and feedback soon

It as the modem include in the rom but you can revert back with the modem i provide in my other thread and deodex like title say.
Thanks you. I tried it. Only problem for me was not being able to use one hand keyboard and dialer. Other than that there was no problem with the ROM.
From another Note (GT-N7105)
Downloading now. Will post feedback after flash -
I've been waiting for something like this to come along for a VERY long time.
Super thanks to the OP.
Downloading now. I'll report back in 10 Hours after I wake up and FLASH IT.
EDIT: Thanks for the ROM. Forgot to mention that... We need more developers for TW Roms.
I'm on the 4.1.2 bootloader and tried the ROM with the Agni kernel, it was smooth and felt great...unfortunately my Note didn't picked up any cell signal...it was showing the circle with the line crossed, I tried rebooting and didn't work. Also, battery was depleting fast. Any recommendations? Thanks dev! Keep it up!
Update: I tried going back to recovery to change the ROM or restore my backup, and it keeps bootlooping! It doesn't enter recovery anymore ........
.
Update 2: :'(.....my phone doesn't boot to recovery OR the ROM itself!.....just after the "Galaxy Note II" splash screen, some on-screen soft keys appear on the bottom of the screen and it goes right back to the splash screen and keeps doing that forever...it seems that I'll have to Odin back to stock :'( so bad...anyone with the 4.1.2 bootloader be aware!

Calm down and explain everything (hopefully someone could help you out). Best thing to do in a situation like this is use an official ROM to flash THROUGH Odin.

Yeah, I'm calmed (read "desperate" lol)...going to Odin then :'(
update: i got the rom to boot after flashing dr. ketan's wifi patch (without going to stock thru odin)...but signal is not working...i've noticed my baseband says "unknown"...maybe thats why its not picking signal up...i will try to fix it, if not, then im going to stock thru odin.
update 2 (yeah, again!): finally i was able to boot this rom correctly WITH cell signal working! i odined back to stock (to recover my imei), im on 4.1.2 BL, i flashed the rom then flashed the TMO MK7 modem and AGNi kernel...PROFIT! thanks for this rom dev!!
update 3: (wth? again? yeah... ..) installed xposed framework (the installer comes built in this rom) and the rom didnt boot!! stayed on the samsung boot animation forever!!...i had to flash the "xposed disabler.zip" to make it boot again...also, the battery drain is still there...i can almost see the percent dropping! i guess its time to update the Bootloader then....
Im loving this ROM so much..
Running from jedi x20, i just clean flash it and everything works well network, wifi & 4G.
May i ask why is the notification bar in grayish can i make them into color mode so i can see the data/wifi network is running well or not.
Cause if the color is gray it make no different whether it running or not.
Thanks keep up the good ROM hope to see much better updates!!
Snote
Hi, Maw2607;52897272, thanks your great rom, seem like everthing work fine, but may i know how to install the old SNote(note2 original)? because i have some important note can't view on the new SNote. thanks.:highfive:
from knoxfree to...?
Hi Maw2607... I am missing the point here... And forgive me if it is a dumb question... What if I come from a knoxfree 4.3, like this one [ROM][STOCK][4.3][N7105XXUEML3/NA1/NC3][Rooted || Deodexed & Odexed || KNOX Free] or that one Ditto Note 3 Based on MK5 (N7105) with Note 3 ...? I can't possibly trip knox, can I? Many thanks for your explanation...
Ok im not sure if this is a bug or just my phone giving me problems.
After running this ROM for few hrs everything is smooth. But I run out of juice on the phone when I charge the phone, it auto turn on. Then I try to switch it off again to let it charged while the phone is off. But it auto turn on again.
Anyone can help me to fix this problem, as I always like to turn off my device to charge, it seem to be charging faster that way...

So is there a fix for it. I will like to have my phone switch off while changing.
Im running from 4.1.2 bootloader, what I did was just clean flash/install the ROM. It works fine for my N7105 LTE. I did not need to flash agni kernel after that, cause I already choose it when flashing with the ROM...
Hey Maw,

[Q] Kernels, ROMs and some qestions about that.

Hello,
I want to install Android 4.4.4 on my good old S3, but I have some questions.
The phone is GT-I9300 with stock kernel 3.0.31 and baseband I9300XXUGNA8 -....... with stock Android 4.3
The smartphone is already root (Super Su 2.1) installed busy box 1.22.1 and I want to install this ROM CM-11-20140914-NIGHTLY-i9300 and Kernel boeffla-kernel-2.3a-CM11.0-i9300.CWM
I've changed the recovery (I have TWRP and CMR)
I want ask about:
1. Is it the good choice of the combination of ROM and kernel and are they compatible with my phone?
2 In my situation with the stock kernel and stock ROM what I have to install first? Kernel and then ROM or vice versa, because I don’t want to BRIC the phone.
3 If something goes wrong is there already an option for unbrick or not?
4.Can I used to change the ROM and Kernel, CyanogenMod Installer and Universal Kernel Flash applications or is better to do it manually in recovery. I see that Odin unable to install custom ROM. Am I right?
5 Is it possible and how I can make a backup of the kernel?
6 What is the connection between the baseband number and the compatibility with the kernel?
Thank you in advance for your advices and I know that all what I do is on my own risk.
I apologize for my English because is not good.
Best Regards

1. Yes, i had both of them for awhile and it worked great for me, pretty good battery (i changed the governor and i/o scheduler though).
2. ROM then kernel, atleast ive always done that. If you flash rom second, the cm stock kernel will be installed and you will have to flash boeffla again.
3. Not too sure about unbricking, sorry. As far as i know, brick means pretty much useless/deadweight.
4. CM installer installs a snapshot for the installer and not the nightly you mentioned along with the cm stock kernel. I always flash manually via CWM recovery but that's my personal choice.
5. To backup the kernel, someone else will know but you could just make a nandroid backup of everything before flashing (recommended anyways).
6. I wouldnt know, sorry.
Hope i helped you, Good Luck!

I would think twice about either leaving it stock or getting the power button fixed, because if you mess up and need to get into recovery or download mode(bootloop for example), you are going to have a **** of a time. At least get yourself a usb jig and also familiarize yourself with using adb. Anyways...
First you'll need to flash the modified philz kernel from HERE to get root access. Read carefully, especially the second and third posts. You will have to match the kernel to the stock rom version you are using. Depending on which custom rom you want to install, you'll probably need to then flash a newer recovery, but take your time and read up as much as you can on the steps to take in flashing etc from the OP's and other threads and you should be ok. Follow each step to the letter, as you don't want to mess anything up with no power button!!

Yes there is, but not a standalone zip. You need to flash a kernel that has twrp like apolo or gustavo kernel.

Gustavos doesn't work, only works on later android. I'm not 100% sure apolo will work on stock rom either, it might. It definately works on custom touchwiz 4.1.2 roms such as neatrom(from 4.x branch). The philz kernel from the link I posted earlier(XWLS8) has touch ui if that is your main need. Only it would need to be updated if you were to try flashing a 4.4 or 5.x rom later though.
Apolo thread
Apolo works on stock 4.1.2. You need apolo v4.15b
Even if everything goes ok, the OP might still end up with a boot loop......In which case he's still gonna need all the buttons to boot into recovery to wipe data........
I've lost count of the number of times I've advised getting hardware repaired BEFORE flashing stuff......I owned the S2 and flashed it to within an inch of it's life, but I wouldn't have even considered flashing with broken buttons........
Get it repaired, it really will stop you facing problems.......
