Hello friends.
I've just bought an HDC Note 3 SM-N900 chinese phone, with Android 4.3, MTK6589 processor, 720p screen, 1GB ram, etc. (from dhgate)
I'm very happy with the phone except for that it doesn't have Google Play Services installed on it, so i can't use Google Apps correctly, or i can't even install some of them.
I've red that this problem is common in custom roms, and it can be fixed easily through flashing the gapps of your android version to the phone with cwm recovery, but this doesn't work at all with mine, because system becomes unstable after installing them, and google apps (even google play) don't work after flashing, and also, when i have them installed and i try to open google+, for example, a notification pops up telling me this "Google Play Services isn't compatible with your device. Contact with the manufacturer for more details"
Can anybody please help me? Thank you in advance. Regards.

It seems that I've bought the same phone and I have the same problem. Google Play app works but Hangouts, YouTube, Google Keep don't work on the device. Could you please give link to your phone with it description? It we have absolutely the same phones we can combine our efforts.

I can't post outside links because i'm new here...but my phone is the HDC Note 3 N900. I bought it from a seller called "Skinnygirl" on DHgate.
Anyway, the chinese seller says that he will provide me a new software version for this phone soon, with google apps and some other bugs fixed. When i have it, i will tell you.

By the way, what version of GApps have you flashed on your phone? Android 4.2 or Android 4.3?
It seems that our phone really has Android 4.2. Maybe flashing GApps for Android 4.2 could fix the problem?
P.S. Pepe, how did you install modified recovery? I've just get root.

I found the solution!
You must have root-access and ClorkWorkMod (CWM) recovery.
1. Download GApps "gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip" from wiki.rootzwiki.com/Google_Apps and put it into your SD-card.
2. Enter CWM recovery and make Wipe data/factory reset, Wipe cache and Wipe dalvik cache
3. Don't exit recovery and enter "install zip from sdcard" and install GApps from SD-card
After that reboot your phone.
If any questions please don't hesistate to contact me.

and in case your bootlogo and animation turns to android instead of samsung .....
key in this code in dialer
*#0077# then a pop up message appear.....then manually restart phone......if u do it for the 2nd time....it will boot up android logo again.....as default....so just do it again ....if you do mistake......
all the best....so far this SM N900 the best clone of note 3 so far.....but there is a new model call note 4 v11 where s pen have laser ....and can push like ori s pen.....

These GApps don't work for me. Have tried 20121212 (4.2.2) and 20130812 (4.3)
Both flash OK in CWM Recovery, but at the Welcome screen, it hangs at "Connecting to Wifi". Then I get "Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped." I'm stuck in a loop here. I'm a bit stumped.

Brom ....did you backup your original ROM using MTK droid tools ? u need to do that first .....and flash using flash tools the rom ...
get it root then CWM using MTK droid tools .....
then do the 3 wipes .....flash gapps 4.2.2 12122012 .......it should run ok .....if its smooth....you will get the enter GMAIL screen and the first time your play store will be on version 3.3.10 .....it should be okay then .....

i have the same phone like you guys, Note 3 SM-900 Clone... i manage to install the SM900 ROM from needrom and i must said that it perform flawless, much more smother than the original chinesee ROM that come with... still, i loose my Samsung logo after flashing this ROM and i am not able to install CWM in order for me to flash the zip with the Samsung logo...

Frezerovschik, that doesn't work for me, i've already tried that. I'm sick of this phone, maybe i will sell it, because now i have installed a new version (V02) from needrom webpage and it doesn't fix the problem neither...:crying:

Dap, am gasit. Pentru root folosesc framaroot 1.8.1 si intru in recovery cu mobile uncle tools. Pana la urma tot nu m dau seama daca are 2,5 gb ram sau 1gbram. Am o problema la gps, adica nu merge deloc, nu prinde niciun satelit si wireless ul este praf, are sensibilitatea foarte proasta. Am bagat pana acum firmware ul V1 , V2 , V5 dar degeaba.

nu mai vb in romana, i dont think it´s allowed...
yeah, your phone and mine are identical, i have the same weak Wifi signal, if i´m in the same room it works good, if i move to another room i only got 1 or 2 lines...
GPS dont work, even if i tried the Engineer Mode with Uncle Tools
the phone has 1GB RAM, but it display 2.4GB...

Hmm, have you done all wipes before and after booting GApps? I dont know, earlier I tried to flash GApps without all listed wipes and whis lead to errors. But when I did all wipes as it described above, then everything turned out!
Who knows, maybe if you will try to flash you phone again and again then eventually it will works. But I agree, thit phone is not good at all.

i already respond you and send you a private message on needrom, but i dont know if you dont want to process the information that i told you or you are NOT able to process...
there is no CWM application to be installed, forget about this stupid question that you ask everywhere... of course you will not find anything BECAUSE there is not...
you have to create your own CWM for your device, you can do this with MTKDroid Tools...

This is my 1st post here ever.
The only time I fiddled around with rooting an android phone was more than a year ago when I had an AT&T Samsung infuse. I followed very detailed instructions on how to root it and upgrade it. It worked like a charm and I'm so grateful to all of you experts trying to help newbies.
A friend of mine went to China last month and brought me a Samsung s3 clone.
The phone is factory unlocked BUT
1. It doesn't have the original google play application. It has a similar logo which leads to a Chinese app store.
2. Google mail account application is missing
3. The phone supports only Chinese, Korean and English languages. (I'd like to use it in different ones)
So I need to re-install a good Android version that has all the Android features that I'm missing
I thought it would be easy to find instructions on how to do it it here, but unfortunately I wasn't lucky to find a direct and clear step -by step instructions for my phone model

unfortunately I don't think anyone can help you rooting/changing roms as it's a replica and there isn't a real development for it.
BUT as for the play store you can DL the apk directly from here:

As for the phone language, after installing the google play store look for:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.c_lis.ccl.morelocale&hl=en
and choose the language of your wishing. That is in case that your phone supports it.
If you mean by google mail account the gmail app then in that case:

I downloaded the latest google play apk, I installed it, but it wasn't working apparently because "google login service" and "google services framework" were missing too!
So I downloaded them, but they needed to be installed in system/apps.
I downloaded "root explorer" which should help me accessing the system folder.
I copied&pasted the apps in system/apps but a message says "your phone should be rooted first in order to paste" came out.
So back to square1
On the other hand, I tried to disactivate some of the annoying Chinese applications that came with the system using "root app delete", and guess what?
I get the same message that I should root this phone first.
So how can I root this bloody thing???
Yeah that is sounds pretty frustraing..Well I guess you won't find here a "how to root s3 replica" guide and personally I wouldn't try and rooting the device as it could easily brick it.
I suggest you go to the store and tell them that you've got a phone with no option to download apps, or connect to your Google account...

I wish I could follow your advise. The shop is 4000 miles away in China.
There is a google store app installed, but it's fake. It has a similar icon but with different proportions. The problem is that it's in Chinese and it deals with chinese applications.
Oh that is unreachable, but maybe can you contact them via Email etc..?

If you flash recovery from different device, there's a big chance you brick it
Try to use MTKDroidTools to root it, its pretty safe.
As @lolet said correct, you can possibly brick your phone...
That's why I advise you to ask in the thread I've linked onto, there are fellows there with much more experience than myself with rooting your device.
I guess in the last couple of years I've flashed hundreds of times but only on samsung, htc and motorolas.

But this buyer is a cheater, because i ordered a 1280*720 , 1GB ram, 4GB ROM , but my phone comes with 540*960, 512MB and 1GB ROM and GPS not work , it's unbelievable (camera is fake to, is not 13MB).
Antutu that comes with phone was fake, and show fake information (1280*720 , 1GB ram, 4GB ROM) , and android system info show incorrect information, for example i have only 1GB rom and android show 8GB (same thing for ram, show 1GB but i only have 512mb).
Only CPU Z show correct information.
Now my solution is found another rom compactible with this phone, to try fix GPS and some bad information that android shows.
I leave some files for someone that can help me to find a rom for this phone.

Meso have 1GB ram and my clone have 512mb, i dont think that are meso or spark.

Hi, the only thing that i can do it for now, is a ported rom (Lewa OS) from amoi n828, but AirGesture,SmartPause not works, frontal camera not works, back camera only 1Mpx, S-view not works, and GPS sucks (works very bad) .
This ported rom have fixed Memory Ram, WIFI litte better, GSM/3G network are better with patched modem.img .
PS: GTA 3 Runs fine .
This rom only have English and Chinise language. I can upload it for you.
My knowledge is bad , and i can't do anymore for fix all problems.

This ported rom have fixed Memory Ram, WIFI litte better, GSM/3G network are better with patched modem.img .
PS: GTA 3 Runs fine .
This rom only have English and Chinise language. I can upload it for you.
My knowledge is bad , and i can't do anymore for fix all problems.

The other ROM that you post from baidu on earlier post work good just no GPS , no compass and no air gestures .I've asked the sto k ROM from supplier but his not responding !!!!

not works so good, because have a little big problem, FAKE RAM, this fake ram causes crashes on applications and you cant play anygame or heavy application.

In my case i have 1GB fake but in real my phone only have 512Mb

I know mine is 512 as well but I rooted with framaroot apk it only take 10 sec to root it
And without pc straight from your phone and it works good! After root I take out the apps didn't want
And I have free 180 mb so phone works great only problem is gps dont work and compass the same! I thing in the rom some drivers
Missing cos i have the sensors!so if you have a rom that gps working i will try to fix it! What about the b9500 you try before? This was working ok? Only problem upside down?

GPS works but need very time to FIX signal, some times 1 hour .

sir can you help me on my problem. i'm also using this phone. and i tried to install chainfire 3d. and it bricked my phone. my phone is rooted. i dont know how to know the OEM. and i cant find boot.img. i backed up it using mtk tools but im not sure if i did it correctly because i click the back up button in the mtk tools and it back it up and turn it to a folder and a compressed file named backup_141107-210816.. please help me

After test, it's already rooted, i can access to Android Recovery.
The problem is that the installed rom is a Chinese Android version.
i want to install the factory Android Lollipop, but i cant find any version for my phone.
CyanogenMod installation via recovery have a OTA error..
So with my specs, is that possible to run another rom, like the Official Android (5.1?) and how to do it?

I understand that i have to install a custom recovery, but now i have a new problem..
MTK Droid Tools says the hardware is fake in Kernel or Firmware rolleyes not corresponding to the phone..
How to format all the phone, i want the Android Official Firmware on it, how to do that please ?..
OK MTK Droid Tools recognize my phone now. I do the backup for a custom TWRP recovery. if anyone know a link the original image of android .zip, thank you to tell me..

Hello, after two days working on the phone, i'm almost there.
First, this phone is faking his own components.
It's sold for a MTK6595, in fact it's a MTK6572. Same for Android, it's KitKat, not Lollipop. Not sure about the RAM (maybe 2Go). 1 virus app (AVG). Chinese stuff installed. I bought it 85$ from Ali (i understand now^^). The Camera is sh**, really! (but photo is not a prob for me).
Im not an experimented dev, the phone seems to be block somewhere, it's very hard to launch a custom recovery. I extracted the Stock ROM with MTK Droid Tools.
Finally, I install a custom recovery after a day of search, the Carvil Touchscreen and make it stable for the mPie. Now i want to install a Custom Rom on it, after replace the boot.img from Stock to Port, i have to modify the kernel, i will see..
If i managed a custom rom to get worked, i will post a tuto, if someones are interested

I found a original custom rom for this on needrom, but the phone still faking his hardware.. The kernel is fake and i don't know what to do now.
It's not a Mpie M15 (fake), it's a Mpie Mp S-168, on KK.

This issue seems quite unique on XDA for my phone and have kept me days (and nights). My question is simple:
Is there any solution or workaround for the folllowing problem:
All apps on my phone only with a Chinese version of Amigo UI. This cannot be changed into English. Google Services (Gapps, Play Store) is unable to run on the phone. Downloads and Updates are part of the Chinese Amigo UI.
What I already have done?
Framaroot;
Custom Root from needrom.com (not rooted) installed from SD Card;
Factory Reset.
