Samsung just released Galaxy S Duos 2 this month and this phone has android 4.2.2 , 768 MB of Ram , Dual 1,2 Ghz CPU ,233 ppi ,480x800 resolution... my question... Is there any chance to port 4.2.2 from there?

Yes, I believe a portion is dedicated to the system, similar to a 16GB storage only has ~13GB. Just speculating though but it is common. My SGS3 US variant states 2GB of RAM but my About screen says ~1.58 available.

1)Nova Thor sources are available right? The thing I can't understand is why can't jb work smoothly on our device? I also have a galaxy ace running smoothly on jb. However Xperia u has much better specs right? I actually wanted to try porting one of the galaxy ace roms.
2) how to change android version number in settings? I saw that being done in one of the galaxy ace roms..

1) developer are trying to port which is near stable but RAM issues causing our device. But JB is smooth now. Check FXP CM10.
2) if you want to change, follow this instructions.
go to "/system" with root explorer
mount r/w
long click to build.prop
open with text editor
check this line
ro.build.version.release =
or similar to that line, search for it.
then change the value to anything. then save and reboot.

Regarding the first point however galaxy ace has only 279 mb ram while Xperia u has 378 mb wouldn't porting such a room mean that much more ram would be available.
Anyway I think that Samsung devices use lesser ram. Maybe that's due to touchwiz or due to lack of features like front camera, led bar and usb otg

You can't compare to Novathor devices which has low ram even 378 mb. Developments and devices cannot be the same even they have the same specs or higher specs. It depends on the sources also.

Yeah I guess 210 mb free on ics it's quite fine. I am able to play galaxy on fire 2 hd without any lags thanks to Mali 400

Sell it. I bought mine after month sold it for a loss and bought myself a ascend y300. It doesnt have dual sim but star was just a pain and was slow. I installed myself cm10.2 on the ascend y300 and it is just great. If you can fork out a bit more for the y300 and still want a dual sim phone check out lg l2 e435 it has dual sim costs same as y300 smaller screen then y300 and single core cpu but has lower resolution will last you 3 days on stock battery easy with fair amount of usage.... but if you dual sim is not a must go with y300 lesser on the battery lasts you a day but great phone working like a charm on cm...

You are talking y300 or lg? Actually both are about $130 and when I bought the star duos it was around 96 dollars us that is. So about $34 difference I sold my duos for about $70

BTW haven't used ROMs on lg so be sure to check it out .... As for y300 there are quite a few ROMs on modaco.. From cm10 all the way up to an experimental cm11 build plus asop and pacman ROMs are also available. I personally am using cm10.2 as 11 is still buggy and not as smooth as 10.2 haven't really tried others cause I just love it....

Guys, i bought a SIII, and in two weeks i noticed that the 4.3 jelly bean version it's a quite slow and the battery life can be better in my opinion... C'mon i bought a phone with a quad-core 1,4 ghz CPU cortex A9, i think that this cpu can be faster. And i think that the kitkat update will be faster for this phone so when the update arrives?

In the game play video of htc one m8 with cpu monitor it showed that the game used only 2 cores when 4 was available. And the game play sucked. WHAT DO U GUYS THINK. WHY CAN'T IT GET OPTIMISED TO USE ALL 4 CORE AT SAME TIME???
