I've got a hd ready tv, it's got a usb port at the back, but thats for services only, it's not a smart tv and I havent got DNLA....
Either buy a smart Blu-ray player or wait a few weeks for the Allshare cast dongle.
i posted in another thread, but I use the allshare cast on my tv/phone, or at least try to. The app on my tv freezes when trying to enter music or video folder. what gives?
Works perfectly for me, wireless to the tv and wireless to the SGS3.
Even use the SGS3 instead of my remote too.

Nexus Q is probably the best new option even if it is over priced.

Sort of. AllShare is built into Samsung Stock firmwares, and can connect to any DLNA enabled devices like TV over WLAN.
It doesn't work exactly like MHL though. MHL can mirror exactly what is on the screen, like your homescreen. DLNA will only stream music, videos and photos. Using AllShare, you won't, for example, be able to browse the internet on your TV via your phone.
Thank you for answer and help.:good:
As TEGRA 3 supports Miracast I was wondering how to use it with the prime. Any ideas?
And also, is there any other good way to stream the prime's display directly to a TV, wireless.

This forum is getting dead. good questions going on unanswered..
the prime comes with anynet by asus that does exactly this.
Sv: Miracast or wireless display.
Well, how to you play to something then? Because I can only seem to play to my Prime. There is a play to button, but the only alternative is the tf201. And also that wouldn't share the screen to a tv, or would it?

both devices need to be on the same network for starters. My samsung plasma needed to agree to the connection first and that was somewhere in the tv settings then it showed up as an option in the play to menu. My new Vizio does not come with that functionality though. I does however still play the files from my prime using its own menu as I have enabled the sharing of media files wehn the mynet software came up asking for permission. So there are a couple of ways the connection can be made to play your media on your tv from your prime.

If the device is DLNA compatible then use Skifta. I find it far easier.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skifta.android.app&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5za2lmdGEuYW5kcm9pZC5hcHAiXQ..
There is a lot of difference between dlna and miracast.
Dlna = Prime can share files that other devices can see and play...
Miracast = mirroring what u see on prime to any tv.
With miracast, u can Play games like temple run by watching your tv, but still swiping on ur tablet.
To op's qn...Miracst will be supported with 4.2 android version.. i think statement has been made by nvidia as well confirming this for tegra 3. Google.
All u need is a netgear ptv3000 device hooked onto yout tv that will wirelessly connect with your tablet.

Ah, ok that's a bit sad then.
About the dongle. if I have one, my tv doesn't need dlna. Right? Also do you know if the prime/tablet will send data to the dongle constantly or are you able to decide when to do that?

Prime does not support miracast yet , so dont know.
Samsungs allshare cast works damn nice for screen mirroring. You can pair the dongle with the tablet and start stop mirroring anytime you like. I have a note 10.1 tablet and galaxy s3, and I mirror them both on tv to play games watch movies.
Dlna is different than miracast... once I can mirror, I dont think u will need dlna that much.
I am banking that samsung allshare cast, miracast and intel widi will all merge into one protocol, and it would be lovely then.

Yeah, mirroring will eliminate my need of dlna. The Samsung all share is a Great solution though it only works with samsung products as you need the all share framework. And I dont think you can get around that.

My friend just discovered this feature. He was able to push photos he was viewing on his s3 phone to his Panasonic plasma TV wirelessly. So the underlying protocol that Samsung uses must work with other manufactures.

Yes sir.
This feature is called dlna. S3 has allshare play that is dlna.
Can your friend play a game on s3 and u watch his screen play on tv? That is screen mirroring.

Yes it does work with other manufacturers but right now you'll need a samsung device which is running a Sammy rom to use the allshare app. Though dlna is a really nice feature

Hey guys was wondering if you could help me.
I have energy sistem android TV box and when I use it to watch Netflix it keeps buffering.
I have rooted the device and was wondering if there's anything out there that will help with the buffering issues?
Netflix works fine on my smart TV and Xbox.

Hello all.
Today I installed this game and it ran gorgeously with stuning graphics on the shield.
I was glad to see they implemented Split-screen multiplayer and gave it a try with my Xbox Wireless Controller receiver and one extra controller.
As I result the game detected 4 players/controllers instead of 2 (nvidia controller + 1 Xbox) and the screen divided into 4. The 2 controllers worked just fine, but the other 2 players got stuck.
Did anyone have his issue with the wireless controller?
Could you please try it and post the result?
Hope we can find a way or an update fixes that. It would be awesome.
Cheers.
Split Screen??? That game support that?
I have the same issue, and I think Firemonkey have to update RR3 to select Number of players/select input device

I think so too and I've sent an email suggesting it and never got the answer back. That would definitely be the simplest solution.
I've found out where the problem is exactly. The Xbox Wireless Receiver has support for 4 controlled and will always send this information to Android regardless of the number of controls attached. Found this on a SNes emulator showing them on the config list. :highfive:
Anyhow, even if you only the shield controller connected, RR will detect more than 1 player connect and that'sa clearly a bug.
issue still remains
Hi guys
I just installed the game on my Shield TV and saw this issue.
It's 2018 and it's still not fixed????
This game used to get A LOT of updates on the phone. why didn't they fix issue??
I just opened multiplayer option out of curiosity (only have one controller) and it automatically split screen into 4.
Also, gamepad keeps connecting and disconnecting every 5 seconds.
