Delete/Remove/Uninstall/Disable Google Play Services - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello friends
I've been searching for 2 hours and found no solution! I need to delete Google Play Service completely from my phone or totally disable it! Even when I disable it, using phone "disable feature" Google play service and all it's apps are still eating my battery 45% (Running). The only way to kill it it's root my phone? I can't find way to contact Google or Android there is no email on the internet! Many people want to delete Google Play Services I've seen a lot of threads but found no solution! I don't need Google Play Services at all. Thx.

If you have the Play Store, you have Google Play Services.
And if you want to get completely get rid of both, you'll need root.

Yes you can

hy people,
I had the same problem with my note8. gt-n5110.. But, I did a workaround with the apk.
1- delete - wipe the user data after instal RR 7.1.2
2- using the website of apkpure I installed the firefox, this browse have no problem to install.
3- using firefox I used the site of APK DOWNLOADER.
4- APKDownloadr needs the app link from GooglePlayStore. Them, you go to the app in the googleplay and catch the link off this app.
5- insert the link in the apkdownloader prompt, Generate Download Link, then download apk.
That way, it´s not necessary the to use the Google Play Store.
But, I'm instead the GPS problem, this no works in my device. If somebody have a solution or workaround it´s so good for us. thanks

[Q] Using Play Store without installing Google services

Hi all
Before that, I was on CM 10.2 and GAPPS that comes with it, I was able to use the market even though I uninstalled the Google services apk, everything worked just fine.
Maps sometimes said somethin' like "best experience with google services", but it actually did work smoothy...
Now I installed CM11 with new GAPPS, and when I disable Google services, then Play store tells me that it can't run without it, and just closes without letting me download any app.
Is there any way do bypass this check ?
I fight any app running as a service when it's not needed (battery life, data consumsion, privacy), that's why I don't want to have the Google services on my phone.
Thanks for sharing your experience
Tried some search on the forum and on google but no chance, am I the only one to care about that !?
Just trying to get my message up again...
Hey, I think I've discovered a way to do this. it DOES require google play services to be installed, but you can freeze google play services completely once you install it.
Open terminal emulator and enter this command
Code:
pm disable com.google.android.gms/com.google.android.gms.recovery.RecoveryService
and then I think it should let you use the play store.
to undo this in case anything bad happens, just enter
Code:
pm enable com.google.android.gms/com.google.android.gms.recovery.RecoveryService
Edit: Never mind. This will let you open the Play Store, but you will not be able to download apps.

[solved] How to disable auto-updates of Google Play Store etc

i have a Galaxy Ace GT-S5839i on stock Gingerbread 2.3.6 with Google Play Store v4.0.27, which keeps auto-updating itself despite uninstalling the updates (to free up my internal memory) many times.
How can I stop/disable the update of Google Play Store?

thank you very much... ingenious solution :good: hopefully all my google bloatware updates can be blocked this way.
not only was play store update taking another 15m, but there was another garbageware silently installing called play services taking up over 50m and not just disk-space but cpu started to crawl too

i did try that, but eventually at sometime i'd need to enable background data for syncing my contacts & calendar, which are the only two things i use in google.
wonder why google can't create simple apps without trashing the entire android eco-system? hopefully amazon phones might give them some competition.

Hi Veloo,
yes, indeed the same trick can be used to prevent too the update of Google Play Service, as I posted here:
[TRICK] How to avoid Google Play Service update
Though some people say that Google Play Service isn't *really* a core service as stated by Google.
The fact is that Google Play Service provides a set of functionalities that any apps might want to use or even need to use in order to function properly.
But that's completely up to how the app is been written by the developer; so in case Google Play Service is uninstalled some apps can work properly without a issue, others might show some minor issues that still doesn't prevent the app to perform its main task, others might not work at all.
But, according to what I've read, mainly all system apps and even Google Play Store aren't badly affected by the absence of Google Play Service.
Anyway here is a good hint from xda-developers recognized contributor marcussmith2626

What I used to do was uninstall the Google play services
Then open YouTube
It will say you have to install Google play services
Click the link to install it & it will allow you to download it from the playstore
You can then move or link it to sd card with link2sd
I prefer always having the latest versions of apps as they tend to eliminate bugs - yes it might be a larger file size but you can move or link the apk to sd

thank you again! i've managed to survive without play services so far. I definitely do not update apps, unless they become smaller. I don't need bloatwares with more features. I also replace apps, soon as I find a smaller app! and so i find myself moving away from all the google apps.. far better, simpler, smaller & more efficient alternatives. and to think Iwas one of the early google adopters. those old google apps were so much smaller in size, in kb really
First thanks for the starting this thread to get complete solution on how to stop automatic apps updates on android smartphone. After reading all comment i have done this and get the full result on this..
sad google updates have become so big that my phone just doesn't have the space! #TBTF #Bloatware
thankfully i've survived so far without google play services..

Permanently disable/remove Google play services?

I'm getting so frustrated with this app, *constantly* reinstalling itself for no good reason. It hogs internal memory and ram for things I don't use.
I don't bother with android siri, Google music, books, photos, tts... I literally use *none* of the things it powers. I use the store to download and update apps.... And that's it. Even within the apps, I don't feel the need to talk to it or find out what song a game uses or any other nonsense.
I don't even need notifications for crying out loud as I keep any possible app hibernated with greenify (which play services will *not*stay hibernated)
I'm using a 3rd party keyboard, and camera app
How can I remove this overall hog once and for all, or at *least*truly disable and be able to delete the large amounts of data for the damn thing and leave it sitting idle, unused and inactive, if Google insists it be on my device, technically....
I'm even rooted and removed all of the apps I mentioned (Google books, music, photos, etc), but yet this bugger insists. It's almost like spyware in the sense that I'm not using it at all and yet it remains on my phone taking up valuable space and resources.....
Sent from my SGH-I927 using XDA-Developers mobile app
not recommended to remove google play
it is very possible to remove google play, google services framework and gapps, however, they are still many apps and services that depend on it, for example, i couldnt use youtube anymore when i removed anything to do with the playstore.
im afraid you will just have to keep the setup you have as google play is an important part of the android operating system
You can disable system administration of google play services and then use and try with greenify...
run this script and disable at leat about 90 uneeded services .. if you use the extended script. if it helped. just thank the guy who made this..

To see what would happen, i froze the play store (well technically removed it with app master but kept it in my recycle bin), and then deleted the play services.... nothing has stopped working on my end. but the play store is probably all i honestly use. for youtube i ditched the app and just made a browser shortcut to the site on my home page. i dont have data so have never used maps or anything like that. i use gmail but didnt keep the app lol (dont use it enough to bother as its not my main account). its a bit of a pain having to restore it to download updates, but ive noticed even a difference in battery life since i started doing that about a week ago now.
the only gapp i use is the app to download other apps, lol.
You can use Servicely to disable all Google services. Alternatively, You can remove all Google services and try to replace them with this

I can't disable Google Play Services

Hi,
a few weeks ago I could disable Google Play Services, but for a few days I can't longer disable Google Play Services, I don't know Why? I don't use "google gmail android" account for use this phone, and I don't need that because I use APKPURE for download my APK, but when I'm connecting to the internet, the Google Play Services is restarting automaticaly on my device, without my agreement. :cyclops:
I Add a screenshot for this post, because this is unsolvable problem at this time. Thank you for Helping !:good:
https://ibb.co/6w554s2
Because it's an android one device and its apps are hugely dependant on play services.
You can force stop play service but opening any app that uses it will cause play services to run in the background.
Your using the stock launcher ya? That's pixel launcher which needs play services or it will crash.
Nearly every stock app on the phone is a Google product (messages, phone app, chrome etc)
If you don't want Google play then flash a custom ROM and use microg instead of gapps

And same here
Forget all the Tutorials (They don't work)
The Solution is pretty easy, did this on my Huawei Y5P (bought it 4 days ago)
Instructions:
Download the following .apk files
Google Play service framework
Google Play services
Google Playstore
Now install it in the same order starting with the framework
IF everything is installed you sadly have to set all the Apps permissions (Memory, Phone etc.) manually by going to Settings/Apps/Your desired App/Permissions
If you have set all Permissions to "allow"
GO back to the Homescreen and Doubleclick the Service Framework & Google play service(To start them) then Restart your Device.
Congratulations you can now use all App & Games (yes even Youtube app)
However this has a downside, you will not be able to login to the Youtube app & the Playstore will never work (but you need to keep it in order to make the "bypass") Google Drive & Google Maps will crash other then this every App/Game wich requires Play Servives will run perfectly fine.
Hope this helps you Guys for me it was i can watch Youtube and use my Banking App.
Edit: Here is a Backup of the Versions i used to bypass the Google Playservice problems
https://www.sendspace.com/file/vsjtmd
Thanks for the tip. As of today, 21 May 2021, this is not working anymore.
