[Q] Viper Fx sound issues with Rom - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been using Viper Fx sound for last 2 months with various Roms. In 4.1.2 ( s3 stock Rom ) sound was really awesome. Later I changed Rom to Cyanogenmod, paranoid and then to S4 revolution by RagzDog. S4 Revolution 10.2 sound was the best I ever heard with Viper Fx. He released another versions v11 and v12, but sound not better than 10.2. Now I'm using v12 and sound sometimes become mute when I use earphone. And also in all versions while I'm playing music sometimes sound change to default sound and then change to Viper Fx. This is happening at least 2 times in 15min. Does anybody have any why it's happening? How I can solve this issue. I haven't faced th this issue when used Viper Fx with stock Rom.

[Q] Lite'ning Rom 6.1 XXKH3 - Unable to use 5.1 Channel with headphone in Video

I just bought GS2 10 days ago. I installed Lite'ning rom 6.1. Now when I use earphone & watch any video in video player I am unable to use "5.1 Ch" option.
It says "5.1 channel sound effect only works in earphone mode only." But I have already plugged in earphones and I get good sound too. In original samsung rom I was albe to use 5.1 ch.
Another thing noticed was that I can use 5.1 ch when I play audio only.
Has anyone noticed that ???

I have noticed that too, but I don't have Litening on my phone anymore. I think that's bug in rom?
Is there any way to get it work or any patch available ?

[Q] Omega v5.1 sound problem (please help)

hi got a galaxy s3 and installed Omega v5.1 and the sound has gone lower. i connect my s3 to a stereo thro phone jack and its gone lower then it was on the stock rom. someone look at the problem please thank you i like the rom and i dont wanna change it thank oh and i reinstalled beats audio as well but no differents
I am running the same rom. I don't have the same problem. The sound is the same as it was on stock. Try removing the beats audio.
If you have installed Beats Audio from experience it drops your sound level by 30% .
However as i read the changelogs no Beats in Omega so it could be the added DSP Manager doing the same .
Tested that rom sound level is normal .

DSP manager / CM9

Hi there.
How to manage DSP on Cianogen 9 ROM?
I tried DSP manager and Awesome Beats but they don't work...
Tks!!
DSP Manager works fine for me as long as I'm running CM9 kernel. If you use another kernel chances are it won't work unless it's supported on the kernel side. If you're using Siyah, don't expect CM9 DSP Manager to work anytime soon; Gokhan is too busy to get it working.
Edit - If you're using a music app with it's own EQ/plugins, you probably won't notice DSP Manager unless you have EQ set to flat & any settings which 'colour' the music off.
Further edit - With Beats, I doubt you'll notice DSP Manager no matter what you do given how ridiculously bassy they are.
I'm using CM9 ROM and it doesn't work...

try clearing data/cache of that app and see if it wrk's
Already done, no luck for me...
Just use fe. PowerAMP for music and/or Equalizer for overall eq...
Got them, but i can say the result will never be like using the DSP, dynamics and frequency range are so much limited...
Rubbish. Clean your ears out.
Poweramp's EQ & other settings you can use to colour music are much better than DSP Manager. And get some decent headphones as well, that might help
Dear, I've been using Poweramp and Equalizer for years.
1st there's no compression, and compression is mandatory to get something good off the worst yamaha this mobile integrates.
Then, all effect are not so deep like with DSP, it seems that DSP uses some hardware aids.
I use Bose in-ear, except for low frequencies they're not so bad...
Common sense says if you have a problem with CM9, you ask in the CM9 discussion thread. But if you want to sit in this thread & hope someone comes along & helps you with a problem that seems to be only happening for you, be my guest.

Well, you're right.
I asked before directly on Cyanogen forum, but no solution at the moment...

can yu please explain what yu meant by ''dsp using hardware aids '' ??
I mean hardware DSP...
I've tried many different dspmanager apks and libs and never managed to get any working apart from DSP Manager V1 which if I remember correctly was included in the release candidates of CM9. That still works if you take the apk from one of the RC builds and overwrite the one in CM9.1 and possibly other CM9 related ROMs.
A better solution though was to flash this instead - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1709497
Even though this is for a different model of phone, it gives you the latest version of DSP Manager on CM9.1 on the SGSII and it works perfectly.
Give it a try but remember...do a backup first before flashing!

AOSP sound issues

Hello,
So it seems that when I install any of the AOSP roms "unofficial cm, infection, tron" the speaker audio does not work. For anything. Notifications, videos, speaker phone, anything. Obviously Im the only person who has this problem but does anybody have any idea how to fix this annoyance. Audio works fine on Sense based roms weirdly enough.
Thanks

You know, ive had this issue on one of my roms, its a bug that is bugging me lol. But my MIUI rom, it doesnt register until you bring the volume to max and then adjust it from there. You only need to do this the first time..if you go into the sound setting and max out all sound and then adjust them to where you want. Not sure if it will work for you, but thats the work around in my rom

Bump. Still no solution. Tried a bunch of different roms and even what was suggested. But nothing seems to get the sound to work on AOSP roms. I really hate sense and want to get rid of it. Im going to try and reinstall the ruu and start clean. Maybe that will fix something.
When you attempt to play something the speaker sounds like its trying to play. sometimes popping or even really soft static sound. Again this is only when on AOSP roms.
Weirdly enough. Rage 1.9.6 (4.0.4 cm based) works with sound but not the newer roms. Any Ideas?

[Q] speaker quality resurrection remix

Hi,
I just flashed Resurrection remix and i love it!! I just got one issue i can't find a solution for. The quality of the speaker isn't nearly as good as it was on the stock 4.3 tw rom (with voodoo sound mod). I've already tried the voodoo sound mod, boeffla sound engine, and viper4android (which is really impressive) but non come close to 4.3 stock.
Does anybody know how to solve it ? Or is this just 4.4 related ?
