[Q] Is this model an X10 mini? - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Detail of the phone:
Modelnummer: ST15i
Android: 2.3.4
Basband: 8x55A-AAABQOAZM-203028D-56
Kernel-ver: 2.6.32.9-perf [email protected] #1
Version: 4.0.2.A.0.42
The picture shown at the top here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-x10-mini
is not how my wife's phone looks like, it looks like this: http://api.sonymobile.com/files/xperia-mini-black-620x440.png
Need to be sure that her phone is Xperia X10 mini so I use the correct rom and won't brick it
It's memory is so low now it can't update any of the apps and I want to reload it with a smaller non bloated ROM like miniCM10
and then add a few apps that she uses and hopefully that will fix the problem.

Your wife's phone is the 2011 Experia Mini (without the x10 in front of it), with an ArmV7 soc, where the 2010 x10 Mini has an ArmV6 soc. There is a separate forum for the 2011 model.

I'll check that out.
First time I got the "REAL" type for this phone too and lucky that I didn't reload the rom someone told me lol

Flash won't work the processor will not support it, the processor on the mini is a Armv6 - Flash requires Armv7.

U gotta be joking me !!!!!!!! Wtf
well I guess x10 is pure crap
so sad I wanted grooveshark free so bad
Soz mate but its fact - a dev got it flash 10.1 working in a round about way on the hero - but it never worked properly. HTC phones with sense have flash lite (this is only really any good for displaying flash ads etc). You require Android 2.2 and a phone with a capable processor (currently only Snapdragons) to be able to run it. Flash would need to be completely rewritten to work on Armv6 devices, which is possible if adobe release the source code - but that aint gonna happen as flash aint open source.
X( stupid flash
is there any way to get grooveshark.com working?
There's an android app for grooveshark.
Sent from my E10i using XDA App
Do you guys make this crap up as you go or something??
Install 2.2 on an X10 mini and you'll have Flash working
1. Android 2.1 platform doesn't support Flash; It simply won't recognize the plugins
2. You need a capable browser using webkit 3, which again, won't install on a 2.1 platform. As before, the system files must be able to read all the features/instructions incorporated in it.
Installing the latest version of Flash 10.1 on the x10 mini is easy (after a few modifications of course) but getting the phone to recognize the plugins is the problem.
This is the fragmentation most android fanboys refuse to believe exists. Their answer - upgrade your phone: What, every time Google decide to add new features, which is 6 months.
here's the grooveshark app for android :

For X10: Yes. For X10 mini/mini pro: Not Yet, maybe not at all.
So I can use a custom OS but I must use an SE kernel
the basics are the same , its based on kexec ...so if it works for X10 it will work for mini / mini pro as well (but might needs some modifications). And with this you can have a CUSTOM kernel (this is what was lacking so far - you did have a custom OS but due to kernel limitations of SE - not all the features were available to us - like no native teethering or FPS cap ) with CUSTOM OS.
But on X10 it needs a crash without reboot in an specific basebandversion to work. So its more complex then just trying the same on X10 mini pro, but not impossible, because it is now know how to go on after the crash.
currently its alpha state , so crash is not something to be bothered with. The way is known , so it wont be specific to big X10
Good luck hope you guys do manage to pull it off
Why cant they just make it simple
Do they realize easy to hack products are a huge bonus?
Because they fear easy to hack = easy to bypass sim locks etc etc, they fear for their relationship with the carriers as they are their "Business Partners".
Sent from my X10minipro using XDA App
Easy similar unlock didn't hurt the sgs and Samsung too much either. The sgs is still selling well and it was unlocked few weeks after release...
Again, their have been numerous time myself and others have not bought a phone because of the sim lock feature.
Sadly SE does not see it that way. They said that on their blog release anyway. ( my last post, though not the same wording but similar meaning )

Because the android version is not the only criterium the play-store uses to determine the suitability of software... it also takes into account the other capabilities of your phone (screen-size for example), so even if your android version is right, your phone's hardware may still not be suitable for some apps and/or games.

[Q] [HELP] Xperia Sola c6603?

Hello! im brand new here, i have a serious problem with the xperia sola, recently my brother moved countries so he gave me his old phone because mine sucked, lol. Anyways the phone was running very slow so i googled around on how to fix it and blah blah and ran into a thread saying i shoud just restore it to factory settings. After i did that the phone was still running very slow, was getting tired of it and was about to just throw the goddam thing out of the window until i was browsing settings and went to "about phone" i noticed that under "Model number" It says C6603 and was confused and even asked my brother and he had no idea what i was talking about, i googled and found that "C6603" was another xperia phones series, "Z" which im sure you all know what phone that is, but i have no idea because i know basically nothing about android because i always used iphone2. So what im really asking is, could this be the reason why the phone is so slow? is it possible that my brother installed a different OS on it or maybe he bought it like that? and is there a way to change it back to the original model?
Here is more of the info of the cellphone (if needed)
model number c6603
android version 4.0.4
kernel version 3.0.8- vengeance [email protected]) #32 smp preempt thu feb 28 10:42:02 IST 2013
build number project gx 2.5.1 stbr
Thank you very much in advanced!
Also when i plug it in and pc companion recognizes my device, it says ¨xperia Z¨ haha so yea i guess that confirms my brother did some sketchy **** to my sola

HELP! SE Xperia Mini Pro u20i

I have just acquired SE Xperia Mini Pro u20i. It was sealed, new in it's box and so had never been turned on, never received any firmware updates, nothing.
It is running Android 1.6!! There is no support for the phone anymore and there is no support for this version of Android. Therefore nothing works on the phone - I can't install apps, I can't use anything other than the stock internet browser, nothing.
I had grand plans to root and update the OS but I cannot find a single sensible place to start.
Please can someone help me? I have minimal rooting experience so links with a couple of instructions would be much appreciated. Once I'm rooted I feel like I can manage on my own, it's just getting to that stage seems impossible, is it???

I would like to help you!
You can search for applications for android 1.6!
If you do not have a file manager or app installer then install the applications via flashtool!!!
The Xperia X10 Mini Pro U20i has a 600 MHz clocked single core ARMv6 CPU and 256 MB RAM. There is no way to make it work with versions of Android above ~4.4.4 Kit Kat as there is no enough RAM and CPU power.
Also the U20i is older than smartphones of this XDA forum category (Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro SK17i, Ray ST18i, etc.) so there is no way to make the U20i work with ROMs dedicated to any of these models. And as far as I know there is no forum category dedicated to U20i. There seems to be an Android 2.1 based custom ROM for this device (link) but flashing it would not help with browsing and lack of compatibility with most of the nowadays applications as it still is a very old version of Android.
Free Applications for Android 1.6 can be found at this site: http://www.mobyware.org
