Check if the device status is modified, if so then it probably will be somekind of LTE variant with an edited build.prop or modification of that kind.

IT IS A FAKE// or please read the specifications as it could be one of those odd china or something models as EP21 posted .
Google CPU and GPU .

It's not I9300. Either your build.prop is modified, or AnTuTu is nuts, the first being more likely.
The description fits SGH-I747 or SGH-T999, including their starting OS variant (4.1.1).
They're US version of Galaxy S3, dual-core Snapdragon S4 with 2GB RAM and LTE. The graphics (Adreno 225) confirm it. A good phone, and it has its own forum on XDA.

Do not reply without knowledge. There are over 10 models of Galaxy S3. Wikipedia lists 13. And this happens to be one of the major models.

Don't apply any updates or flash files meant for the i9300, they will hard brick your phone.

Go into download mode and see the product code then you'll know what model of the S3 you really have.

haha..be very weary of these chinese models.. a friend of mine purchased one of these so called galaxy s4's and when it was brought into my shop i couldnt help but have a good chuckle.. ofcourse it was not funny to him....

Definitely seems to be a USA or some other country variant if the reported specs by Antutu are true, otherwise its a fake.
But normally US variants like AT&T and T-Mobile have carrier logos on front or the back, did you notice any ?
Another thing, which you can do is remove the battery, there will a sticker with Model and FCC ID. You can google the FCC ID to conclude on model. Also try downloading CPU-Z for Android and see what it reports. Carefully note down the senors which your phone has. Normally you can map the sensor names to the chipset your phone has.
In any case, do not flash any software till you are sure of the model.

Another site:
http://www.imei.info/?imei=353022053919608
I found one I747 IMEI on the internet and checked it with this tool and it was recognized correctly as I747, so I assume that your model was also recognized correctly as T999, because IMEI contains part of serial number also.
T999 - standard HSDPA
T999L - LTE
As far as I know the firmware is the same except for different modems.

[Q] Confused! Which Galaxy s2 module to buy?

Hi all,
I am from India and I am planning to buy a Samsung galaxy s2 model from Pune, India.
I have recently read on internet that in India, the Samsung galaxy s2 model available is the i9100G instead of i9100 [ which is the original and better one]. So I am confused, what to do? Should I go with the G variant or not?
What I have heard is that the G variant is not much supported and comparatively less in performance than the i9100 model. I may be wrong and that's why I am here asking for your help.
Please let me know what to do? Plus, if anyone on this forum is from Pune and knows where I can get the SGS2 i9100 model, please let me know.
Thanks in advance for your answers...
Well I think the i9100G comes with NFC unlike the i9100.
But if you're more interested in software flashing or development you're better with i9100 since it has more support.

Where the heck do you get your info?
In another thread, you said LPQ was a later build than LP7. (which is not right)
As far as I know, I9100G does NOT have NFC out of the box. I9100G is similar to the I9100, but has different SoC/chipset. (I9100G has OMAP4430 CPU, and PowerVR SGX 540 GPU.... whereas I9100 has Exynos CPU, with Mali GPU. This is why firmwares are not compatible between the two)
I9100P has NFC added out of the box, but is otherwise the same as the I9100 in terms of CPU/GPU.

No its the P that has NFC. The G has a different GPU and chipset to the regular 9100, making all the standard i9100 roms incompatible.
Buy the IG9100... Will have better support and you can find more help here for any issues encountered..
Thanks a lot guys for your replies. Even I want to buy the i9100 model, but seems that in India that model is not available. And the pathetic things is that Samsung is selling i9100G models in the i9100 box. This case has happened with 2 of my friends and even there is no replacement guarantee at the moment for them.
Here is a website for that reference which shows the i9100 box and i9100G model inside: knowmydroid.com/blog/samsung-galaxy-s2-i9100-vs-i9100g-difference
I really need to check the piece thoroughly before buying it. Anyone know any store or place in Pune where I can buy the original version i9100 ?
Thanks in advance
Mate i m from india too
Don't listen to the fools who say i9100G is better
its total money waste(some games not working, camera problems,no ice cream sandwich,no development, not sgs2 really just a phone looking like sgs2 and i9100G is weaker)
Buy a second hand i9100 or new Galaxy Note(only 1k difference on ebay.in)
Thanks for the reply man. So is it like a brand new model of Samsung galaxy s2 i9100 is NOT AVAILABLE in India at the moment? Even in official Samsung stores?
That would be really bad if that's the case...

Big problem with G is very little development for it compared to i9100 .

Exactly! And that's the reason why the people in India are finding it much more difficult to buy the original version of S2 which is i9100.
The shop/mall owners in India are saying that the Samsung has stopped the production of i9100 piece and that's the reason why we are selling i9100G nowadays.
Is it the truth that Samsung has stopped production of i9100 model? Or is it only for Indian market and in the rest of the places there are still new i9100 models available?
dude buy a i9100 model, you can find more support and devs here on xda.

no samsung didnt stoped production, its just that samsung india is allowed or whatever reason is selling 9100G officially.
you have to buy used or one that is imported. im sure one of the stores must have newimported international i9100. you might not get the warrenty though.
Yeah, I am planning for that only. One more thing is that I visited a local mobile store yesterday. And amazingly, they have the i9100 model available, at least the box says so and I have seen the product code as well and it ends with AINU instead of GINU [for i9100G model].
But the thing I found a bit weird is that the manufacturer was said to be from China? That's new for me. I have heard that SGS2 has been manufactured majorly in Korea or Vietnam, but not sure about china? Is is fine to buy the Galaxy S2 manufactured in china?
Please advice...!!!

Yeah buddy. At least the box says that it's i9100 manufactured and imported by China. The manufactured date is also of August 2011. So may be there is a possibility that this one is from the old stock and not the new production. But that shouldn't be any problem, Isn't it?
Any idea, which Android version I will be getting if its manufactured and imported in August 2011? Just curios...

NewBie, how to verify Samsung Galaxy S3 system detail

Due to a bad experience with a Amazon Seller, Who sold me a UK carrier (Deutche Telekom) Phone as a brand new Factory unlocked international verison, I wanted to verify if there is any way to see, if phone is indeed Quad Core as mentioned...
1) All Specification, such as RAM... etc.. What is the country of origion and if it is indeed factory unlocked or not...
Is there any way to verify all this?
2) Do you have any suggestion of a reputed seller in US, who can provide a factory unlocked phone?
hey man. If its the int. version, it has to have the quad-core, cause only asian and american version of galaxy s3 has a dual-core crait with 2gb ram.
Only in south korea there is a quad-core 2gb edition of the galaxy s3, with LTE.
and deutsche telekom is for sure not a UK branded phone.
This has to be a german branding, cause only in germany its called deutsche telecom, deutsch=german
I hope I could help ya
Otherwise, look trough code entry: *#1234# or something like that That gives you out your version.
But I'M 100% sure that you have the int. version with quad-core and 1gb ram.
Install system tuner pro. See how many core u have in spu setting.

UK got the international i9300, so that is right
Brand new... well nothing contradicts that in your statement
Carrier-Version... nothing to do with network locking unless it actually was carrier-locked which you didn't say. Carrier-branded (carrier-related stuff installed) does not equal carrier-locked.

Even if it's destined for China, Autralia,... as long as the model number reads i9300 it's the same phone.

bell canada's version of the s3, not actual s3?

hi guys, so im trying to figure this out, i've purchased a phone from bell before, which tursn out it wasnt that, and infact was a whole different model which is lesser than i thought i was buying...
so, im thinking of looking at that GALAXY S3 but i see theres a few models of it, or revisions, theres the i9300 which it might or might not be... or theres the newly released i9305 which it seems like LATELY they've been trying to advertise this phone so i almost thought it was the i9305... but its not
i called bell and asked them for what the "model number is" but she said, im not sure i think its " LT7416" which i find nothing on, go figure...
heres a link to it on their site, if it asks to select province then select bc i guess http://www.bell.ca/Mobility/Products/Samsung-Galaxy-S3
now i know that the i9300 has a quad core cpu and 1gb of ram the 9305 has 2gb of ram with same quad core.... , which is what i'd like, yet somehow on bells site its advertising it to have 2 GB OF RAM with a 1.5ghz DUAL CORE what the heck?
now im thinking WTF how can bell falsely advertise a phone name when it is actually a total different model, my phone from them i thought was a galaxy W when its actually, guess what, a exhibit II
but yeah i want to get to the bottom of this, i want a quad core phone from bell, the S3 looks dreamy but only if its that i9300 model or a 9305 with a quad core atleast....
i have found this... http://www.phonearena.com/phones/Sam...-Sprint_id7099
now searching more i believe the common cheap model of the actual S3 here in canada is the " I747m" which is the 2 gb 1.5 ghz dual core , anybody know where i could find a real 1 on contract? thanks!

Buy just the phone directly & then choose the carrier whose network, service & most importantly the plans you like.

According to the Bell Mobility S III User Guide, the S III is SGH-I747M. I presume the M stands for N.America. You can always go into a real store to see actual model numbers.
Buy the phone you want outright then negotiate your terms with your carrier of choice without getting locked in. In the long term you will save money.
It's not the cheaper version. It's the American version which comes with lte. It's dual core because the lte radio was not compatible with the exynos quad core processor. If you want an international version you should find one easily online.

[Q] Anyway to check version?

Hi,
I was wondering if there are different versions of S3's like for S2's (ie, Singapore differ from US etc), because i want to buy an S3 online from a reseller in which the title goes by Samsung Galaxy S3 Unlocked WHITE/BLUE. Is there anyway to tell or how to check which version the seller is selling?
Thanks!
Was there a model model number?

If its being sold online it is most likely to be the GT-I9300 international version. However be sure of the credibility of the online re seller. There have been cases where people reported to have received fake S3's..
Yes, there is:
this app:

it will not only tell if it is a genuine S III, but it will also tell what specific model it is.

[Q] Rooting an unlocked device.

I am planning on getting the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 soon but I am going to buy it unlocked. Is it possible to root an unlocked phone. I have not seen any guides on Youtube or online yet that show guides on rooting a certain unlocked phone. I want to root it as soon as it is possible to root it safely. I am going to buy it unlocked but I am not going to get a plan from T-Mobile from it until January. My main question is: Is it possible to root a smartphone that does not have a sim card in it and is bought unlocked and if there is what guide do I use(like do I use the guide for how to root the galaxy note 3 tmobile edition or att edition or verizon edition.) Can someone please answer by September 4th.

rooting has nothing to do on your Phone Network settings. it depends on your mobile model on how you root it and not by your network carrier.

If it is like that then why do they have a specific video for how to root a Verizon Galaxy S4 or a specific video on how to root the AT&T Galaxy S4. So let's say I get a Galaxy S4. I just have to look at a video that shows me how to root my specific model like the Galaxy S4 I9500?

The video you would follow is the one for the international unlocked version. For example to root the unlocked international Galaxy S4 I would go to the Galaxy S4 I9500 section on XDA and then look for a root guide or if your looking for a video guide on site such as YouTube I would search on YouTube "root Galaxy S4 I9500" and follow the root procedure for the Galaxy S4 I9500 device model. So when you get the unlocked international version of the Galaxy Note 3 you see what model number is has and would Google or search on YouTube something similar to "root Galaxy Note 3 international" or "root Galaxy S3 (insert international unlocked edition model number here. The international edition is the standard globally carrier unlocked edition that can be used with any carrier's SIM's that support the phones radio basebands. That is correct if you buy it straight form Samsung your buying an unlocked International version. As far as 4G LTE compatibility, Samsung is likely going to release an international unlocked model that is compatible with United Sates LTE bands on most carriers. The new trend for devices is to have global LTE capability that is compatible with LTE networks in both the U.S.A, Europe, and other places across the globe.

As far as 4G LTE compatibility, Samsung is likely going to release an international unlocked model that is compatible with United Sates LTE bands on most carriers. The new trend for devices is to have global LTE capability that is compatible with LTE networks in both the U.S.A, Europe, and other places across the globe.

oh ok thank you. Do you know how much the Galaxy Note 2 was unlocked when it was released last year. This would give me an estimate on how much the Galaxy Note 3 would be. I am either looking to buy the Galaxy Note 3, HTC One MAX, or the Oppo Find 7. If you do know can you please tell me the price of the Galaxy Note 2 when it was released last year unlocked.

The Galaxy Note 2 was approximately $750 when it was released last year for the unlocked international version. I would expect the Galaxy Note 3 to be about the same price when it's released.

In my own opinion the jury is out on the HTC One Max as it's HTC's first attempt at a phablet format device I would have read a bunch of reviews, get users opinions, and try it out for myself before I could render any real opinion on it. That being said it does look like a promising device, however I would give the edge to Samsung because they have a proven track record of success with the Galaxy Note series of devices. And don't worry your questions are perfectly acceptable and are as far from irrelevant as it gets so keep them coming I'll be happy to answer them!

For the HTC One Maxx I would predict it to be around $800-$850 in price. The main thing that could make it more expensive then the Galaxy Note 3 is HTC likes to use "premium materials" such as machined aircraft grade aluminium.

Yeah you are correct. Do you know if they are going to be launching a Galaxy S4 with a snapdragon 800. If they do then and if I get it and root it specifically by it's model number then will I be able to find ROMS for it. My exact question is: Will the same ROMS that work for the original Galaxy S4 work with the Galaxy S4 with the Snapdragon 800 processor? I wouldn't think there would be a difference because the processor has nothing to do with the ROM but I was just wondering just in case because the Galaxy S4 with Snapdragon 800 could be classified as a totally different phone and have separate roms for it or something.

The a updated international version of the Galaxy S4 with the model number GT-i9506 containing LTE-A (LTE Advanced) and a Snapdragon 800 recently was seen in a FCC filling leading to the belief that we may see that coming to the U.S.A soon. More info on the updates Galaxy S4 can be found here. As far as ROM's are concerned, ROM's that work on the original Galaxy S4 will very likely not work on the new updated Galaxy S4 if and when it is released because as you mentioned both devices will be classified as two completely different devices with different model numbers meaning different ROM's. Even though devices have similar hardware, ROM's that are designed for a particular device model are meant to work on that device model only. Any ROM's for the old Galaxy S4 would have to be ported to work on the new Galaxy S4 if and when it is released, due to them still being two different device models.

Glad I could help, currently I do not have the power to lock threads but what you could do is edit your thread title to something along the lines of this "[Q][SOLVED]Rooting an unlocked device", that way other users who have similar questions and who are looking for similar information in the future can know that there is information that may help answer the same question they were going to ask.
