I downloaded advanced task killer and select all the extra apps that I want to stop running however I can clearly see from the status bar that the app is still running. Things like brightness slider and stuff. Greenify seemed to actually really work but since I'm not rooted I cannot use that anymore. Any ideas or recommendations?
Sorry if I posted this in the wrong section.

never had 3rd party task kilelrs workin for me ...
Incase u dont know, status bar notification is used by apps so that they dnt get killed by task killers
Also , try greenify v2.0 beta 7 its made for non-rooted devices, but since its beta it may have some bugs, so use at ur risk (head to greenify thread to learn more about it ..)
Also, wrong forum Questions should always go to question section ...
Can u post a link? I only see the root required version.
Thanks for the fast reply

Dont use any as above said..
Goto settings>applications>development>check "stop via long-press"
now whenever u long press the back button the app running in foreground gets KILLED..This is wat i do..when need to close the used app..like opera mini..dont know this right or wrong to do..reply back
Actually... I'm using it only for kill google apps (maps, rss reader, ...) on Mik's Cyanagon and there is not problem at all.
Because I'm using google maps time to time and some time I forget to kill app and killer do it instead of me. When I not kill it, it kill my battery much quickly than killer itself....
I have a shortcut to "Manage Applications" that I created thanks to Launcher Pro. That way I can force close Apps with as few clicks a possible without using a task killer

Just wondering if the wicked rom can be changed to 4by4 icon grid rather than the 5by4 icon grid it came with.
Also it has barely any samsung apps/widgets wondering if particular apps such as readers hub and widgets such as the stock weatger widget can be reinstallled some how. These were things that i used before rooting and installing this rom.

yes, go to menu - launcher and set the desired grid size.
yes, samsung apps caan be downloaded and readded again, check the forum it usual has samsung apps on first vpage as a zip file.
You should have read the rom description before using as custom roms try to eliminate all samsung apps. you should then stay with a stock type rom which has your required apps.

Thats not completely true about no settings in TWLauchers. My ROM comes with TWLauncher which lets me put 5 icons on the bottom tray and TW4Launcher which lets you change the amount of rows in the app draw.
First and second screenshot TW4 app draw settings, third screenshot TWLauncher 5 icon bar.
Has Any1 done this i dowoaded and flashed the hubs now when i try to use readers hub i have to install the book reader. However it says server will be available soon i mean what gives before custom roming it it always updated and installed instantly is this an app error or a rom error.
Thanks

Not if the camera isnt modded or the ROM doesnt have a mod file you can flash via CWM to do so.
Could you elaborate cooza i just want to have the option to turn of shutter sound stock rom could. What do i need to flash.
Ps. Is the siyah kernel really good for battery life. If so what is the best way to go about flashing the kernel. Im a new user lol

yes, siyah is good for battery life.
If you are rooted use CWM to flash the zip file after copying it to your sd card. cwm- recovery-install zip- choose zip from sdcard-yes install, wit for it to finish, reboot phone.
other wise use ODIN, flash the tar file.

If you are on stock ROM you cant turn it off.If you are on a custon ROM the dev normally modifys various apps so that you have more options or you can download a file to flash and modify each app personally as you choose. If you are on stock then nothin,if your on a custon ROM ask the Dev or on the ROMs thread if there is a Zip file or CWM file that can mod the cam to turn off the sound.
Chetan can u release a mod or something to turn off camera sound

I just have one problem, when I turn my phone off then back on I get a little message on top saying "kernel is not seandroid enforcing", "set warranty bit: kernel". I just would like to know if that's normal? If not, what can I do to fix this? It's my first android phone so an explanation in depth would be preferred please. Thanks
I experience this as well. It is nothing to worry about. Getting rid of it would be nice though.

If you're not satisfied with the look and feel, want some more customization, then make sure to set up Xposed Installer and Wanam Xposed.
(From a post I made in the JellyBomb thread)
Learning how to use the Xposed Installer and Wanam Exposed is essential in customizing JellyBomb Domination, once set up all sorts of customization options become available.
For anyone who wants to change the look and feel of, for example; Notifications Panel "background" or add a "Call Recording button" to the Phone app...
1. Run your Xposed Installer, select Framework and Install/Update. Reboot.
2. Ensure that Wanam Xposed is checked in the Xposed Installer "Modules" tab.
3. Run Wanam Xposed and start customizing!
There are all sorts of Xposed modules available for download if you need something Wanam Xposed doesn't offer.
The Battery Icon can be customized several ways with these Mods, as well as through options available in Wanam Xposed.
Exposed is the shizz mos def
Also I have that same message on my phone and I don't believe it is a problem

I am not unfamiliar with the xda and searching for answers but I have yet to find anything on what I would like to do. I have tried an array of apps and tweaks from "softkey enabler" to "wanam settings". where as I have had success in customizing a great deal of this awesome Mega. yet everytime I enable the soft keys or set to a different UI I get the "unfortanately systemui has stopped working. I understand the not being able to have a custom rom or recovery at this time. all I am asking if any one has a clue to what can be done or attempted just so I can enable softkeys or get the tablet UI working. thanks

True DAT!!! I knew there was a way through Xposed and some system settings download. I remember there were 3 items to change the settings on that had to do with changing dpi to 220, but I am smart not too much sometimes and cant remember. Sorry, but maybe if you could come up with certain phrasing and run a search. There was a how to in the Note forums.

I have reworded as much as I can (or as far as my intelligence will allow me) and have yet to uncover which settings need to be configured. I do understand that it maybe as simple as a quick tweak but I am a bit discouraged when venturing to deep. I am in no way a dev and would like to consider myself very slightly above a noob. I will continue my search. thanks for the replies and if i do stumble upon my answer. could I post my success here or just post where I found it.

I have used "pie" before on my original note. and although i did like the concept "swiping" to bring it out is not particularly what I want on this Mega. I had used a custom rom that allowed me to switch my note from phone /tablet /phablet. and truely enjoyed the look of the "tablet" UI. so what i am looking for is to make my Mega look like my Note 10.1 as far as the softkeys and navigation bar are concerned. but until some brilliant dev figures out the work around for this "i527" and can allow us to flash such a rom. I must continue my search for what ever comes close.
I am wondering if a task killer is needed for my s4. Current try I only use greenify but u feel like with myself ope I got so many different apps it would be beneficial to.kill the ones I'm not currently try using to give more battery and speed. Does android do this by itself and therefore I do not need one or? I did try advanced task killer but when I kill the apps the come right back. Since then I have restored and did not install ATK.

That's up to you. Android is pretty good at dumping old apps to free up ram. What a lot of people over look is that the android system keeps apps in memory to make them load quicker when you open them again. The only thing I really do is just clear my apps from the recent screen every once in a while.

Let Android manage things, it's a lot smarter about it than we are.
The only caveat I have in this area is an app called Greenify. I'm using it to make it easier to stop a few apps from running in the background when I'm not using them - in particular an app called "Viki" (provides access to TV/movies from Asia) that is endlessly active in the background for no good reason and keeps my phone from getting into deep sleep. So I tell the Greenify app to hibernate it when I'm not using it, and deep sleep is back and battery life is good again.
But I agree strongly that using "active" task managers that try to manage your apps for you are not necessary, and can be detrimental on Android.
