Hello there.
Instead of running the ARM version, I want to run the x86 version of Backtrack/Kali on my android phone.
So, i'm not gonna install kali using Linux Deploy, or mounting the .img file for Backtrack.
Is it possible?
Thanks.

I have an MK808 and want to install more of linux environment. At the moment I have optware installed and running transmission successfully, but I don't know how to have it start transmission up on boot. Also wanting todo the same for openSSH and Samba.
So instead of using optware I was looking at a more full linux distro. I come across a thread on this forum where it was modifying so Linux ran at the top level with android chrooted under it, but I can not find the kernel image and my init is a binary file not a shell script as per the instructions. Any ideas?
The other option is Linux on Android, but will this let me access my android files when using SSH from it (ie. I can have a mount to access the android file system)? Can I have it start on boot and run the services I wanting (transmission, openSSH and Samba).
I've a doubt. Why is it not possible to install any version of Android on Any Phone like computer installing windows, linux & mac?
Hi guys. I was trying to install kali linux through linux deploy, however, when i install it it fails on mounting and tells me to start again. Any idea why. Or is it not compatible yet?
Thanks
So i really am looking for a way to get linux possibly debian or ubuntu to get working on my android. tried linux deploy , complete linux installer, gnuroot...no luck. Please helo if you can
Device: xaomi mi4, android 6.0.1 cyanogenmod
Sorry for the necro, but gnuroot debian on the playstore should work! Remember it only installs the backbone of linux via a P-root (like chroot). You would need to install and set-up all dependencies you need to run applications by yourself though! I had no issues running octave (even in gui) and blender. I still have more to learn about bash. Anything that can run on arm64 (if your soc has an instruction set of armv7+). Also since you are rooted, you should be able to get even kernal installed easily, but it will take some time, patience and work!!

Kali net hunter isn't officially supported for honor 9. So you have to wait that someone modify it for the honor 9.
Is your device rooted? If so install Linux deploy off Google play, and install the Kali Linux distro, you will have to install the software you need on it afterwards, but, you will get a full ARM64 Kali build running. You can ssh into it, or use an x11 or vnc viewer for the desktop.
It has full network access etc.. since it's running from the systems kernel and boot stuff, it's just a container for the Linux distro, so it runs as you would expect Linux to run an an ARM CPU, it's NOT a VM.
