help with android-x86 on Asus T100 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm posting this here because i'm a complete noob on this forum and apparently can't post it to the actual thread without 10 points.
This is the thread i'm talking about http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2500078
Anyway, after reading the whole thing i got my T100 to boot android-x86... YAY!
But i'm having problems with the graphics. The only difference i see between what i'm doing and the thread is that i have loaded the newer BIOS rev 220. I have two modes. If i boot into the bios by holding F2 on boot, this seems to lower the display resolution to 800x600. If i then boot to android i get something that looks like this.

}
On another note, if anyone from that thread finds this, i figured out how to boot to android with just one drive instead of two.
Short version is, make a second partition on your thumb drive about 300mb ext4. i used a gparted live image to shrink the existing partition and add this new ext4 partition. For me it was /dev/sde2
Next do the step you used to do on the second drive
dd if=android-x86.iso of=/dev/sde2 (be sure to use the correct partition in your case. parted -l should get you a list to guess from)
Thats it.
Thanks,
Eric

How are you going with this, any progress? I'm working on getting an all-working Ubuntu up and running.
Is the display being duplicated horizontally, but only if you boot via the BIOS boot menu?

[Q] Webtop is frustrating me soooo bad!!!

ok, so webtop is a great concept I think it will be quite useful if.. I can run other apps.. I've done the webtop2sd and it seems I cant get the webtop configurator to work. from my understanding thats how we get the ubuntu repos added. My ultimate goal is to have my guilty pleasure (minecraft running on it) I hope its possible but it needs java. can someone please clarify the issue? I'm by no means dumb when it comes to this stuff. but android and linux and scripts are so-so in my knowledge. thanks!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239265
For me its been a great feature. Im using the Debian image not the webtop2sd and.I can install many of the applications that I need, like OpenOffice, GIMP, and many others.

Dear God I am going to scream.
I am having this exact problem, yet no solution was listed. I have rooted the phone, I have loaded webtop2sd. Yet when I click on the configurator icon it glows for a second then nothing happens. I have gone over where busybox is installed. The diagnostics screen say I have both mmcblk0p13 and mmcblk1p2 mounted with the webtop configurator version 33.
I am not a linux noob but I can't seem to figure out what I am doing wrong on the install. All the icons are there, and all the files were copied, I have rebooted a million times, yet the icons just glow and then do nothing. Please help?
Using Atrix4G with real lapdock. AT&T US version with valid SIM and a 8GB Microsd card partitioned to the default 1gb/7gb split. I have the stock AT&T gingerbread rom and the original webtop was stock.

[Q] Partition layout and contents

Is there a definitive partition layout for the I777?
Here is what I have found/guessed based on the threads I've found in the forum:

Close, somewhere off in the weeds? Anyone have anything better?
There's a PIT dump somewhere in Development - or you can use Heimdall's dump-pit. You're pretty close, and you're correct about p5 and p6 - p5 is kernel, p6 is recovery (which doesn't actually do anything on nearly all Samsungs, including ours - recovery is in the kernel initramfs.)
p2 and p3 are bootloader stuff - touch them and your phone dies.
Thanks, I'll look at the PIT file, maybe I should look at the Heimdall source to see what it does with the PIT.
Not messing with the boot loaders is why I'm interested, I'm not a One-Click'er because I want to know what is going on when I change my phone.
I believe everything else you have is correct, other than that unidentified 512M partition is listed as "hidden" - I think it somehow allows the uninstallable AT&T bloatware to be reinstalled after a wipe, as it contains the uninstallable AT&T bloat apps.
Yep, kind of had to be by default. I was thinking that it probably contained the stock /data partition contents and possibly /sdcard as well but hadn't looked onto it yet.
on the ATT bloatware, I still have a gray icon for that POS featured apps
Thanks for taking the time to help!
Edit: mounted p12 on the phone, it's a ext4 fs with a single directory (app) that contains the AT&T bloatware. Guessing the e3 recovery copies from here after a format.

[BOOTANIMATION][APK] Nexus BIOS Boot - Updated for 4.4.4 (June 23rd)

Hey, guys! I've got something for you that I think you'll love: a BIOS Boot animation! Check my original thread on the Nexus 5 forum for more details.
Unfortunately, I had some trouble finding tear down information for the Nexus 10, so some of the technical information may be inaccurate. However, it's my goal to make it as accurate as possible, so please comment with updated information if you have any.
The app will work fine, however, the animation itself may have issues. It worked fine on my N5, but the N10 display is much bigger and better! Please report any issues you discover.
Download:
Here!
Or in the Play Store as "[Root] BIOS Boot for Nexus"!
Please, let me know if it works and if not, what broke. I would sincerely appreciate it!

I thought about that. My concern with landscape would be redesign (I'm not a graphic artist, plus I've been short on time lately) or readability, if I just left it as is and rotated it. When I get more time (hopefully this July when I have a break from class), I'd like to test out landscape and see if I can make it work.
Updated OP for 4.4.4.

First of all sorry for my english.
I have installed Remix Os on my usb stick and it works perfectly.
Now I need to root the system, so I am trying to access to remixos files on Windows 8, but I see only one of the partitions.

Windows won't see the Linux partitions. Best thing to do is either install Linux on a separate parition, install Linux in a virtual machine, or use a bootable partition manager like GParted to work with your Android partitions.
well reformat ur usb b and re burn remix os .iso with unetbootin ( http://unetbootin.github.io ) and ur drive should be visible
I wonder if ReactOS supports MTP.
And if it's possible to use ADB and Fastboot from there.
If I'll have time, I'll test it out at home.
All this is because ReactOS supports ext4 partitions.

Question Back up with Macrium Reflect free on Win11

Hello, I bought a new laptop, installed windows 11 and all the programs I need, the computer doesn't need anything else and from now on I would like to save the system and all the programs installed in case of unexpected events.
I downloaded Macrium Reflect free (it's in Italian but I couldn't choose at the time of installation).
Now I'll explain my doubts; I have a 1tb external hard drive, with Mini Partition Tools I created two partitions, one of 100 gb in which I thought of saving the data and the other of about 800 gb that I would like to use to keep the games and programs that I rarely use, in your opinion is it ok to create a backup in a partition of an external hdd? Can it work? Can I format a pc by making it choose the iso from a hdd partition?
I created a backup and had Macrium verify the iso, it says everything is fine.
Another question, in the Macrium screenshot you can see the ssd on which the operating system is installed, the first one in the list (the one with the ticks), when you do a backup, you have to include all those partitions or you only need the one where the operating system is installed?
Third and last question, I'm doing all this in case I have problems with the PC and I want to format and re-install everything, to do this, what should I do? A backup? Create a system image ? Or other options?
Thanks to anyone willing to read and help me out.
