Hi,
I hope you all can help me. We bought our daughter her first tablet this Christmas, but right away found issues with Adware. At first I thought it was something she installed, but after some investigating with Eset virus checker, we found that a preinstalled program has been hijacking the browser.
I have done a factory reset and the program resets with the tablet so I assume it's included in the ROM. I am able to uninstall the program from the tablet, but the damage is already done right after the reset. Eset no longer finds any threats, but when I load the browser for the first time it goes to Baidu.com as it's default homepage. When I change this to google and clear data etc.. I reload the browser to find the homepage changes every time to something new. ftzh.com, llr.com, etc..
Does anyone know a good fix for this that doesn't resort to resetting the tablet again? failing that are there any good generic ROM's that will work with this tablet.

Hello all,
I've searched the web and have only found solutions involving rooting and something called Cyanogenmod. Looks tricky. I'm fairly tech savvy and not totally opposed to doing this stuff, but I'd really really REALLY rather do this only as a final final last desperate resort. My only goal is simply to have Google Play up and running on my Android without rooting and putting on all sorts of fancy mods. Besides, I'm not even sure if there's a Cyanogenmod for my device. I looked and it's not in the list.
I recently got a Coby Kyros MID1042, Android 4.0 tablet. It doesn't come with Google Apps. I want to install Google Apps. I have tried doing this by using the APKs and installing manually. I found instructions on Youtube and downloaded some signed apks with Vending 3.3.12.
Things seemed to be fine until I clicked on Google Play in my apps tab, I was prompted to enter my Gmail account info, so I did. I got the message "Your phone needs to communicate with Google Servers to set up your account...", but after a few minutes, I got a message that says, "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server", followed by "Unforunately, Google ServicesFramework has stopped."
I have searched this and other forums and have come up with solutions that seem to involve something called "rooting", resetting and installing some MODs... I'd rather use rooting or modding as an absolute last resort. I'm wondering if there's any insight as to why I'm getting these messages, or if someone may be able to point me to a better .apk package. Thanks in advance!
search in the internet for a pakage called "gapps" (be sure u chose the right one cus theyre depending on the android version u use)
head to the recovery mode and flash them afterwards it should work
you dont need any root acces for this cus every phone got a recovery by stock rom
Hi everyone,
First I am no expert, but I've been going through all possible forums for a solution to my problem with no easy solution. I've cracked my screen on my Samsung SII i9100 (current firmware version: I9100JPKG2/I9100OJPKG1/I9100XXKF1/I9100JPKG2 DBT). I have replaced the Firmware once a year ago through Odin as I needed to access different languages no available on the original firmware. I think it is not rooted! If it is then it wasn't intentional . Now I am trying to send it for repair. The phone still connects to USB and Kies and through it I managed to delete all contacts, pictures and media. I accessed the internal memory and cleaned up all folders I previously placed on it, but didn't have the guts to go further through what looked like system or application folders.
Now I need to wipe all the account data, memos, and applications. Since I have no visibility, I tried a hardware factory reset like 5 times but it never worked, I've confirmed that. Read a couple of times about something called "adb" and how I maybe can wipe such data through it, or maybe use my computer monitor as a screen! Despite a whole day of reading and downloading and trying stuff, didn't manage to get it right.
If anybody has a solution for this problem, please don't spare on details, flying blind is difficult
Thanks in advance
Hi All,
I have a Chinese tablet. Sometimes it is marketed as XVision and sometimes as a KTC. Who knows, maybe something else as well. It is running JellyBean 4.2.2
Here are the specs:
Model 800P31C
Rockchip 3188
Kernel 3.0.56+
Build RK31SDK-eng 4.2.2 JDQ39lipf.20140307test-keys SDA14030399
Tablet was rooted with Vroot. After awhile it started to slow down, etc. I decided to do a reset. Well, what happened is that stock apps like camera are not installed and nowhere to be found. Only calendar, calculator, gmail, maps explorer, apkinstaller, music, rkmultiplayer, are installed. Google Play Store is listed in apps but is not the lock screen or the app screen. I have forced stopped it, cleared the data, cleared the cache, and done the same with Google Framework Services. I have tried resetting twice.
Can someone point me in a direction? Would it better to flash a new rom and update to Kit Kat?
Thanks for any help.
Debo
when u can and its possible i think its the best to flash new or upgrade to kk,its the best option i think.
Hello all! I registered real quick in hopes this community could help me out with something.
So quite a while ago I rooted my Lenovo Tab 2A 10-70 tablet with KingoRoot in order to generate a logcat file. That went fine and dandy, and then I disabled some misc. apps (like Kindle for Android). I can't remember exactly what I messed with, so please bear with me.
The issue is that a couple of days ago I tried taking an image with my tablet with the default Camera app, when suddenly it started giving me some errors with generating thumbnails. Worse yet, my computer could not open these and they were seemingly corrupted. The camera started acting up as well, and claimed that "Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped working." whenever I attemted to record. I tried clearing the cache based on some recommendations through others and force stopping the app, and this seemingly worked for one recording/picture, but then would stop again. I found deleting the DCIM folder entirely from my Android's Internal Storage helped, but it'd quickly corrupt again.
Frustrated, I asked a friend for help on what to do figuring he had more knowledge in Android devices then me. He suggested I tried another camera app, but I couldn't get Google Play to download anything to the internal storage or my SD card, despite clearly having enough space.
As a last resort, I tried updating through the official "Updates" app to see if that would help me, and it claimed there was a new ROM available. I tried that, but then suddenly it failed and now my tablet seems to bricked? I can now only get the "No command." screen to show up.
I've tried using the following options while on this screen:
- reboot system now - this takes me back to this menu after it shows a Lenovo screen twice, which makes me think it's having trouble booting into Android itself.
- Apply update from ADB/sdcard - Both did nothing for fairly good reason, but I checked these options out of curiosity.
- wipe data/factory reset - Tried these the very first time I got to this screen after a failed installation. It seemingly hasn't worked for me.
- wipe cache partition - Tried this a bit later, but got similar results.
- root integrity check - Scanned a bunch of .apk files, but then later threw up some errors after that was done and said the check failed.
So, in short, I'm stuck in this menu and I'm getting kind of frustrated/scared. Is there anything that I can do to save the tablet at this point? Is there something I did wrong that might have bricked it? I'm not terribly experienced with Android, so I'd love to hear some thoughts from others! I'll gladly take anyway to restore the tablet back to a point where it can actually boot into the OS, and I understand I'd lose some data doing any sort of clean install.
Thank you!

Quite a late reply, but thank you! That ended up working quite nicely! I upgraded my tablet from Lollipop to Kitkat too, which seems to be working a bit better app performance wise for me.
I have no idea how a virus found its way inside of my Archos 55 platinum phone, i searched online and saw that many people had the same virus as me on the same phone model and now i want to install a costum Rom on my phone and make it clean and i cannot find it as the archos guys wont release one
about the virus:
*It automatically installs google play apps on my phone and launches them.
*it has been appended to the android settings app so i could not delete it with malwarebytes
*I have tried factory reset but it wont be removed
*I have already rooted the phone in the hopes of removing it with root access but apparently nothing can remove the settings file
so i have turned up to you guys for advice on how to remove it (FYI: everything is on the table guys)
Sorry if i posted on the wrong forum or anything, i made an account solemnly for posting about this particular problem
If no one can help me removing it can someone please tell me what rom usually works with almost all android phones as i already said there is no rom available for my phone model
