Extended battery cases - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

Heyo peeps
So here's the deal.
Battery life is pretty good, no question. But I finally got the itch to start hammering this phone for mega hours.
So first I got the Zero Lemon of course.
Battery is crazy awesome. No question. The case is... Almost acceptable. I love the overall design and protection. I hate the feel of the rubber outside, the screen protector (which I keep on for added Peace of mind and water resistance), and OMG the port covers.... So awful. The buttons are pretty terrible too.
And of course, the phone is insanely bulky and unmanageable now, but I knew that.
I LOVE my wife's otterbox defender on her stock note 3. The first thing I tried was to see if I could mod a defender to fit the zl battery. As I'm sure yall know, the answer is hell no.
So what I'm wondering is if there is some other REAL extended battery that might fit into some modded defender or similar case.
I've got one of those eBay "4500 mah" batteries that is the same size as stock. But since it weighs less than the stock battery, I'm certain the battery life is gonna suck. I'll be trying it this weekend for giggles. But Yea. When I sat REAL extended I mean one of those hyperion or anker 6400mah jobbies. Or the zl, natch.
So, any input? To recap, I'm looking for a battery that can fit a modded case that is good, preferably a otterbox defender, or similar. Or I'm looking for a GOOD case that is known to fit the zl, hyperion, anker, whatever.
Thanks!

I think there was a post by someone that modded their otterbox to fit an anker/hyperion battery.

Wait, really? I swear I searched this whole dang forum. I'll do it again when I get to a computer. If so, that'd be amazing!
Thanks regardless!

Wasn't an otter box. But here it is:

Yea, i did see that.
I've actually got the slim armor and rather like it. But unless I'm missing something, he's got the case in such a state that it could hardly be considered "protective" any longer...
Thanks for the heads up though

Lack of Accessories for At&t sgs2

I am pretty dissapointed with the lack of accessories for this phone. Extended battery made for this phone not the global is non existant. There is only a couple of cases. I can't seem to find a belt holster(no not a leather one, just a plastic clip and your phone locks in). Its just disappointed that our choices for accessories is crappy

SGP cases aren't made for our phones. They don't even poke that extra mic hole for us. Everyone on the forum had to do it themselves. Most of the cases you listed are for the international version. Only casemate and seidio have something appropriate. And as for the cheap generic cases, that's exactly just what they are; I prefer real accessories with my nice gadget.

Dont get me wrong, Seidio does make some of the most high quality cases out there. I have had one for almost every one of my phones. My issue with them with this phone is that this phone is very thin and it fits in my hand, pocket, whatever so nicely, and it so light, but seidio;s cases are always thicker than i would prefer for at least this phone.
I wish seidio would make a battery for this phone already, they are usual good about having an extended battery and also battery charger for any new phones on the market. Another thing they dont have yet is a spring holster for just the phone(wo case). They have one but it is made to go with the surface case.
Cases
You can try this one I love it! No bulk added to the phone. Some people have complained about GPS issues but I have had none whatsoever . . . If you do take it back!

Mugen Power 3200mah Extended Battery

Saw a thread about this battery in the normal Galaxy S2 section, but not here.
I purchased this battery on ebay for about 85 bucks shipped. I haven't run any tests or even cycled the battery yet, but the results are definitely worth the money I paid.
I popped the battery in on Saturday, it was at 60%. I use blue tooth streaming music about an hour throughout the day, data on, face book and email syncing, etc. I got 2 days 20 hours before the phone hit 18% battery. I just fully charged today to 100%, made 3 15 minute phone calls, and some browsing. It took an hour and a half before the battery went down to 99%.
The Mugen Power back plate is actually pretty good too. The grooves give a really good grip. The kick stand is awesome as well, even though it does feel like cheap plastic. The added width to the phone makes it better to hold as well.
Best part, it's an NFC battery so no boot looping.
Only down side so far is there's definitely no case for this thing.
If you don't mind shelling out a few bucks to have your phone last a few days, GET THIS BATTERY! The added weight and size is really not that serious.
Man 85 bucks is a lot of money lol. I dont know if you can fuse 2 batteries like you could with the captivate but i would rather go that route as im sure you could.
there's a couple 3500mah batteries as well, and they are phenomenal! I've gotten 2 days of heavy use and over 8.5 hours of screen time. I agree with OP, worth buying. And I these are cheaper.

Yes I would also like a link.
I don't think Mugen makes a 3500 battery or a cheap battery if that's what your asking for a link for. I believe Slatestud is referring to the cheap Hyperion, GTMax, and other cheap Chinese batteries which seem to be performing well for the money. What Slatestud doesn't realize is that the OP is more or less against buying those batteries.

Yea. Extended batteries work great. Especially for the money. I love mine. Im getting about 2 days medium-heavy use, and 8-9 hours screen time with the GTmax. What about the Hyperion?
I got the GTMax 3500mAh battery for Christmas and while the tabs on the back suck (some broke off, the back needs to be squeezed on to the phone to work) the battery is absolutely amazing. Almost 2 days constant use without charging.
I did send bluemall an email about this and they replied with some horribly broken english response basically telling me to screw off when I asked for a new plastic back because mine was messed up. Here's a link to it but for $12, you cannot go wrong with this.

They all look enormous, the Mugen looks the least obtrusive but still I'm afraid I will hate turning my sleek GS2 into a humpback whale.. I wish I could see these 3200-3500mah batteries w/cases in person, I'd love to double my battery life but the photos of these extended batteries really turn me off
Here's a informative review of the Mugen on YouTube..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLLNFWehfl8&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Ive bought cheap batteries and ive bought the mugen. I wont buy cheap batteries again. You can easily get 4-5 days standby with minimal use, by the time you realise its been a few days since you charged your phone you still have 25% left, and it takes ages for this to go down, so I've never been stuck with a dead phone.
The added weight and bulk to phone is a bonus to me, in standard form the phone is too light and flimsy feeling, to me the extra weight feels better in the hand. Im actually selling my mugen (upgraded to S3), only 6 months of minimal use, still in great condition if anyone is interested.

Seido 3200mAh Extended Life Battery

During my search for an extended battery this came up on amazon. http://amazon.com/gp/product/B0069RT8HO/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details From the reviews I've read it appears to have a slower discharge rate compared to cheaper batteries. The specs for the back door are not listed but it appears to have a nice finish. Since I went with the amazon option I may have to wait a couple weeks to receive it, I'll post details when I do.
Edit: Says it adds 1.13cm to the phone size so I'm guessing similar to the GTMax cover size but with a better fit and finish.
Hard to tell from the picture, but it seems to me that it looks better than some of the others I have seen.
Post some pics when you get it, I am seriously interested.
Nice find!

What I have found with covers like this is to put the top edges in first and hold tension on them while you snap the bottom in.

Nice Battery
I have had this battery since my wife got it for me on Christmas. She also got me the Taurus Bumper and I do not have any issues with it fitting properly. I can even take the battery out with the bumper on it.
Battery is well worth the money, you get what you pay for.
I finally tried to install the battery but the back cover fits poorly on the one I received. I've already sent a return request to the seller. Dust and dirt could definitely get into the phone with the gaps it leaves. It's sad because I love the soft touch cover on the back cover, and the Neo Hybrid Ex does fit with the battery.

Recommendation for battery cover that is not too "smooth"

The original Galaxy Note battery cover is too "smooth" and I am afraid that one day it will SLIP out of my hand and break the phone. Does anyone have any recommendation for a replacement battery cover?
I searched eBay, Amazon, etc. but haven't seen anything. I see a LOT for Galaxy Note 2, though.
Let a little kid play with it for a little bit. I promise it will have a nice tacky feel afterwards. lol. And it costs you nothing and the kids gets entertained. It's a win/win.

How comfortable is it to carry the Note with an extended battery?

I have read several reviews of extended batteries for the Note. So putting the tech specs aside, how comfortable is it to carry around the already big Note with an extended battery case? Are there any brands that are better than others in this regard?
I currently carry around an extra battery, but I always forget to charge the extra battery on days when I end up swapping them out. I was thinking about purchasing an extended battery/case, but I don't want to be carrying around a brick either. I spend a lot of time traveling where Iike to have my phone easily accesible in my front pants pocket.

I find pros and cons. The extended battery does make it easier to grip. But of course its harder to put in a pocket.

I carry my phone in my front pants pocket without issue. It's s little tight in some jeans with smaller pockets, but overall it works just fine with extended battery. Biggest issue I've had is lack of a case so while I drop it rarely, when I do it comes apart into three pieces(phone, battery, back case)

I think it's fine. Because the phone is already big, the extra "hump" is not too hard to get used to.
I got a metal bumper case to work with the extended battery. I posted a picture in the other thread for 5200mah battery. If you drop it, it will still come apart most of the time.
I did use a cheap TPU case and cut out a hole for the hump and that works out fine as well. This will keep the phone together better if you drop it, but it was a really cheap TPU case, so I ditched it eventually for the bumper, which looked alot slicker.

I just took a look at that thread. I think I might get one to have on extended travel days. It does look kind of goofy IMO, but it will serve a purpose. Thanks for the response.

Yes... I have grown used to the look, but when I take out my phone in public, people do ask "what the heck is that?"
I don't think it is as ridiculous, but people do. But, it is nice when you are on the road. I lasted almost 3 full days in the mountains with the extended and stock batteries.
I love mine and I also have the case for the Hyperion extended battery for the international note and it fits fine.

Can you link me to this case? Also, did you have to do any modifications to make it fit?

I'm just carrying 2 batteries... It's pretty fricken great
One in my phone charges like usual and I got a wall charger for the second
Picked the official Samsung battery from at&t for $30 and got the wall charge free from a friend

yes, no problems with the case for everyday use, however you might find using the phone with one hand isn't as easy anymore.
I consider myself pretty good with one hand on the Note, but the extended battery makes that a real challenge.

I find it much easier to put in my pocket than the with the normal battery and attached to the charger.

I bought the extended battery with hump initially and only used it when I knew I wouldnt be able to have power for awhile. It became more of bulk issue, i ended up just ordering an extra battery and just swap out.

I have one in 24/7. I keep it in my shirt pocket, run a ranch, no extra case/cover. I'm on 4g only, no real internet out here where the bear does his business.
Doesn't fall out, get too wet from sweat, or broken... I'm due an upgrade but waiting on note 3 or price drop on note 2 and an extended battery for it.
if I just used the OEM battery it'd be dead in 3 hours or less since my data is on all the time...

The tmart <$10 one for i717... I had two because going to 4g only ate my battery and I thought it was just wearing out.
I found it was easier to hold...fit ok in my shirt pocket.
When I syill had satellite internet it lasted all day usually. But I think I'm getting almost the same performance out of the i317 oem battery.
