Samsung IME Keyboard bigger keys mod for 4.3 Updated 1-10-2014
I made this mod to try and accommodate those of us with bigger hands and those of us that like the Swype keyboard but want the numbers up top.
Just drop this in SYSTEM/APP and reboot.

Make sure you put the original keyboard as Samsung IME.bak and copy the new one over and reboot. Exactly what I did with no problems

I downloaded the 4.3 big keys and work fine the only thing is not blue.
4.2.2 works and feels nice. Great job.
Only comment is bottom 2 rows are aligned left with gap on the right similar to screenshot 2nd row from the bottom.

Here ya go. Just highlighted the areas that don't go all the way to the right

The .Zip works great on 4.3 MKF int. build, just flash wipe and there it is.
There is a slight "off center" to the keyboard as stated the right side gap is slightly larger. I have messed around with my LCD density, I reset it to 480 and I still have a gap but I have heard rumor that once you change the setting, it will never be perfect again.
No biggie as I am more than willing to ignore that because the keyboard actually fits my fingers now.
A darker version would be awesome, not black, but really dark grey.:good:

I am not picky, and I dont expect you to make me a custom keyboard. I just like the darker side of things on my phone, your keyboard is awesome and works for me the way it is. I was just saying that if you were working on another version like the blue or red a darker gray would be sweet.

[Theme/Mod] Black Status Bar/Quick Setting & Lock Icon Removal [SnowJB!] [3/08/2013]
Hey again, I have redone this with the SystemUI for the SnowJB Rom. I didn't even want to install JB until I had the time to do this.
Do a backup first. I make no promises and take no responsibility for your OG's spontaneous combustion resulting from flashing this.
I would suggest wiping cache and maybe even dalvik after flashing.
Reported working on stock AT&T Roms. I can't vouch for this because I have not tried it. Backup if you wish to attempt it.
I also modified the QSlide add on to black it out for those who would want it.

Hey guys, I have been playing around in some of the system .apks and making some small edits to them and wanted to share.
I am running The Base Rom and therefor (for now) all of these use Base (7.3) .apks.
I would not install these on any other Rom without a backup and the understanding that I have not tried them myself.
I adapted The Base Rom v.0.7.3 update.zip script (because I have never made an update.zip before), so I would like to thank Nottach for the original script.
If Nottach has a problem with this, please let me know, I will remove it.
I have absolutely NO affiliation with Nottach or The Base development, if you run into any problems Nottach is NOT responsible.
I have heard it works on stock if you delete (or rename) /system/app/SystemUI.odex after you install it (and then reboot again), I can't guarantee it will work correctly, but it is reported to work. As always, backup first.
Also posted working on Nocturnal, again, backup first.
Base 7.3 black status bar mod.zip (V1-3)
I have made the status bar for The Base v.0.7.3 black (and the Quick Settings background in V3).
V1: This is a darker (very dark gray) status bar, but not completely black. (screenshot 1)
V2: V2 is a pure black status bar.
V3: V3 has a pure black status bar and also themes the background for the Quick Settings (screenshot 2).
V4: V4 is V3 with the gray dividers removed from the Quick Settings (screenshot 3).
Base 7.3 lockscreen no icon.zip
I noticed when using the first lockscreen clock (the minimal one) that it added a lock icon in the middle of the lockscreen.
I have removed it and the small animation that goes with it (I have only made the .pngs transparent, they are still technically there).

This comes with the normal disclaimer, I have installed these successfully on my phone with no issues, but can not promise a similar result for you.
This replaces system apps from /system/app/, so I strongly recommend either a system backup in recovery or at least making a copy of your version of the edited apps before installation.
Install via recovery.

I believe that they are using the tsf shell home screen replacement and that button is apart or the app that brings up an overview of the diffrent screens

That is true, it is TSF shell, Apex was laggy for me. I am also using THIS clock and THIS app launcher.
TSF Shell is HERE. It takes some getting used to.

Thanx. Installed with Twrp recovery and then on root explorer went to system/app and renamed sustemui.odex to systemui.odex.bak rebooted and and have a black status bar and settings.

I have to say thank u for all the hard work and the themeing looks great. But I dont know if its me or not but the battery level is not the same within the device its off by like 20%..I took a screen shot.

I noticed that earlier today I did not catch it yesterday because I had the battery icon turned off within the mod and I was only displaying the battery percentage from: display settings I will see what I can do when I get off work today

thats kinda hard to say, it depends what a person has going on wit the mod as far as a color scheme.. would it be hard to make a few differant colors in time? and if not then a multi color that changes when the power decreases..

and i could try , im working on bringing a "on the fly" battery mod that way we can have multiple battery icons and each user can choose their own from over 10 different ones within display settings!

Is there any disclaimer to doing this, like if I am running Nottach-Xposed or needing odex or de-oxed systems. Sorry, I don't fully understand all this but I don't want to have to go back to stock because I didn't ask. I love those icons though and would love to get this done.

You can run it with his mod and you should be deodexed if you're not just rename the systemui.odex Files to systemUi.odex.bak and push one of mine that you like
Oh ya you might want to back up your systemUI.apk "just in case" but you shouldn't have any problems bc they are the same besides mine is themed.

Nice screenshot, especially like the red circle on what looks like Sasuke in the background, I may have to use the blue flames vs circles one with a little Naruto backdrop!

Would I be able to just extract the framework-res.apk in root explorer, replace the files with the ones in the update zip, then somehow re-zip/apk compress the file and replace the original? I have a sneeking suspicion that I'm missing something.

Confirmed working with Eclipse 2.0 mdk tw rom.
Blue circles goes perfect with aosp ice cream blue themed rom!
Here is the S5 launcher, working on n7100 4.3.
But it is not perfect as you can see on the pictures. I cant do any more to make it fit better, so if any one fell like modd it please do so and please upload it if you succes.
(The biggest problem is that the "statusbar" is not transparent)

Im not trying to make transparent status bar..I just want to fix the size of the thing in the screen. Can you make the same screen shots than the op? So I see if I fix something?

I already installed it and it works but I pretty much installed bkuz I wanted the weather widget but it doesnt appear on the widgets. Anybody know where I can find it?

Dis you read the thread? did you install my "fixed" version? if you did...please tell me and show me wich part its not in place....I need screenshots...I cant test this...im on 4.4.2 rom...I will fix it if you give me that info....

There is still an empty area for status bar. It's really ugly.
So here are 4 keyboards that you can download.First make a backup of your original one just in case something goes wrong.Its in system/app.Download the one you want and go into root explorer and change name to SamsungIME.apk and put into system/app.It will overwrite the original and change permissions to rw,r,r and reboot.You might have to go into settings and make samsung the default keyboard..When you look in download folder just match it up with screenshot.I did number 1 and 2 and sequence2469 did the blue and pink one.The one with 1 and 2 have all the keyboards themed.Example-Regular,floating and split.The blue and pink that sequence2469 did only have the regular keyboard themed.Dont forget to make backup of original apk.This is the samsung pro keyboard not the regular one.Im not sure if it will work unless you have the note pro installed.If anything i will just force close and you can just put your backed up one back.If there are any questions feel free to ask.There will be some more options soon of other colors.

Sorry if this isn't what you are talking about but... woul be possible to put the spacebar up in the handwritting mode? I say becouse sometimes i press on it when i'm writying with the spen.

So heres another one I did, you lose the 3d effect of keys cause I made them black.If anyone wants a color just let me know and ill make it for you.I just learned how to theme and im addicted already.See attached screenshot for new one.
So im assuming no ones wants a themed keyboard cause no one gave me any suggestions. I just learned how to do and I figured alot of people would want something different but I guess not.Im not gonna bother posting any cause I feel like im just wasting my time.Its not easy to do and I dont wanna take the time to do any if nobody wants one.Im into themeing whatever I can.If anyone does want a custom color feel free to pm me and if not,hey I tried.

If your really into theming, i would love to see if something like the new swiftkey themes would be possible. I like using the Samsung keyboard, but swiftkey looks great and functions well too.

So you would want one to look like the colors that you posted?I cant change anything around but can make the color just about any color you want.

Im about to go away till monday, I have mine like that now but the keys are kinda dark and it takes away the 3 d effect. When I get back I'll see if I can do a little lighter to keep effect. See attached screenshot.
