so i just got a i717 didint like ics on andriod 4.0.4 upgraded to andraded 4.1.2 jb perfectly fine. from there i flashed cyanogen mod with twrp. it was cyanogen mod 10.1,whick upgraded me to gb 4.2.2 at this point i got extremly spotty service. so i did a factory reset wiped cached and reflashed the rom now i am getting a no sim card error. like the sim card is not showing up anymore. i went back to jb 4.1.2 and same thing no sim. i did an advanced factory reset then reflashed twrp then flashed jb 4.1.2 STILL no sim card. i installed the newest version of cyanogen mod 10.1.3 and still no service. its unlocked to t mobile.i dont know what to do to get this sim to work. i have also tryed using a friends tmobile sim and didint read it and i have also tryed to use another friends att sim card and still no luck. Im going to order a new sim tray tomorrow untill then does anybody know whars going on or any fixes?????

Installed the latest version succesfuly and it says "no service" I got my sim card in, took it out and placed it again in... still no service... i got Vodafone RO

If your previous ROM was official gingerbread, you'll need to flash the old baseband in order to have a working network.
I had stock Froyo. first updated to new baseband for openoptimus. worked fine. installed old baseband. open optimus still worked fine. CM7 wont work on any.
Hello, i have a problem, i did unlock my sim locked phone with voodoo, and it worked great.
Today I've tried cm10 and when it booted it said that my sim is locked ?
Then I've tried unlock it again with voodoo but it say's SIM lock-reader error
What to do??
Have you tried another sim after you ran voodoo? I got the same error on cm10 but the phone was unlocked
I don't have another sim, but when I've first got the phone, I've installed cm10 on it and unlock it on cm10 with the voodoo.
And now after about the week with the (unlocked) phone I wanted to get some vanila feeling and installed it again, before every rom i flashed there was no problem, so i doubt it's sim card problem.

I have the same issue.
I have 2 sims.
The first given with the phone when not sim unlocked is still working but not the new one.
After restoring CM9 both SIM works fine.
Hey guys! My phone was working fine until yesterday. I wanted to try out some new ROMs so I rooted my phone.
Since I have rooted it, no ROM has been able to detect my SIM. I first thought it was a SIM problem - but its working fine on my HTC Desire and old Nokia phone. I even reverted back to the backed up stock ROM, unrooted it and did a factory reset. Still nothing.
(So far I have tried the super nexus rom, slim JB, LiquidSmooth JB and the stock samsung JB)
Any suggestions? Or will I have to replace the piece?

SOLVED: Using http://db.tt/PDH8Bc64 by a fellow poster from the subcontinent. Just flash this radio and you'll be in good shape.
So I was trying some new roms (CM11, temasek, etc) today and I got an error when flashing an old 4.1 samsung rom (I was on 4.3 official yesterday).
Now my SIM card is not recognized. It says "only emergency calls" and nothing else. I don't have cell signal at all.
I tried taking out the SIM and putting it inside again and factory reset in CM. I also tried flashing again the 4.3 samsung unlocked rom.
I'm downloading right now the 4.3 official rom from Vodafone (my carrier), in hopes that will fixed it with ODIN, but just to be sure I'll ask if anyone knows how to fix this issue.

Hundreds of identical posts, search and read before starting new threads.
If flashing the stock 4.3 rom with odin doesn't work then you'll need the backup you made of your efs folder.

2. Odined back to stock ICS an J B
3. Kies back to stock with JB GB was not available
4. Reverted back to official recovery
5. Tried Sims from att Verizon t mobile straight talk.
6. Took phone apart disconnected Sim ribbon cable an reconnected
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

HI. not that it may help but when Iczame upon this same problem for an s3, all Ihad to do was update my modem file. try that. look for the latests
