suunto t4c (ANT) - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

Trying to connect my Suunto t4c puls belt via ANT but have no luck at all. Has anyone succeded with this?
The belt has the same ANT logo imprinted. Maybe it isnt possible due to ANT vs ANT+ ?

I read somewhere that Suunto belts don't work with Samsung phones, and yes it's because they are ANT and not ANT+. I think I saw it in the Note 3 General forum - you could try doing a search on Suunto there.

NEW Seidio Blue Angel mount with MP3 playback

Seidio is listing on their site a carkit for the Blue Angel :
This kit will serve as a hands-free speakerphone and doubles as a MP3/GPS playback through your car stereo speakers.
Click to collapse
Built-in audio jack in the holder means no additional audio cables needed

http://www.seidioonline.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=CK8AG21MXDA3
There is also a model with integrated speaker, but I prefer hearing my mp3s through the car audio system using an fm transmitter.
Is this the holy grail some people have been looking for ???
There is one BUT :
Switch available on the cradle to allow you to easily select either "hands free" mode or "MP3/GPS" mode
Click to collapse
Does this mean you have to choose ? I thought that the home-brew circuits that some people build here supported both ?
They also have a ground loop isolator : http://www.seidioonline.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=GLI-25M35M
I suppose this can come in handy when the fm transmitter is powered from a cigarette lighter adapter.
When I'm looking at all of this, I get the impression that there is finally a manufacturer who understands what a _real_ carkit for the Blue Angel is supposed to look like. Does anyone share this thrill ?
I'm mailing seidio about the function of that handsfree/mp3 switch. If I get a satisfactory answer, I might want to rethink the Parrot bluetooth solution.
Cheers,
Kristof
I got the answer from Seidio:
No, it is a misprint, It does not need the switch. We will correct the web site on Monday.

So... this should WORK !!!!
Hmmm, with this solution, you can't have an incoming call that interrupts your regular car cd player. For this you would need an fm-transmitter with RDS TP support...
Does anyone knows such a product ?
This device features an auto-mute upon incoming audio signal and connects the pda mount directly to the car audio instead of fm, maybe an even 'cleaner' solution :
http://www.qubit.dk/products.html
Look for pda sound system.
Has anyone received one of these car kits? Are they as great as the sound? Seidio says they are on Backorder. "Due to high demand" Figured that some out there should have one then.

[Q] Car Mode Accessories

Does anybody happen to have a list of whether various car chargers and/or kits switch the Titan into Car Mode or not.
Also, is there any way to see or preview Car Mode manually as there is with Dock Mode
Many thanks
Andy
I think the car mode is an Android function, not Windows Phone.
Looking at HTC's website it looks like it's only avaiable under Sense 4.0 which I think is Android only HOWEVER, this link suggests the Titan has it built in.
(Sorry had to seperate as I'm new user)

The car panel works in the new Locations version 2.1 (build2213.18230) phone can not be dormant or in lock screen to use.

Thanks, well like some of the other guys on that thread I have a fix car bracket so don't really want the HTC car kit (it's expensive too) but somehow need to find out whether holders from Brodit, ProClip etc will activate the Car Panel

I have the ProClip mount without the built-in power. I love their products and it is a great mount.
I see no need for the Car Panel as I have everything at my fingertips.
HTC are currently saying it is only enabled with the right car kit plugged in AND a car which has the Bluetooth Phonebook Profile capability ???
HTC Titan CU S600 switch the Titan into Car Mode.
For a dock to trigger phone into dock mode, it needs specially made microUSB plug. For example, for Samsung Android phones, the microUSB plug needs to have PIN5 connected to a 600k resistor to the ground. Ppl on Samsung board has been documenting the various resistor values for triggering different functions for Samsung phones for almost two years now. Not sure if there is similar efforts on HTC phones.
But, to answer OP's question, no, generic docks won't trigger such docking mode. Only OEM docks can.
Thanks, I understand that the Dock Mode is enabled using resistance across pins of the USB cables however I am trying to find out whether the Car Panel mode is activated in the same way and/or whether it uses the Bluetooth connection to the car as well.
In case your still wondering I have just got this kit (£20 from the forest) and it opens locations when I plug it in , I have no Bluetooth in my car so cant vouch for anything else working.. Just gotta see if I can find away to open Navigon instead.

Cool, thats the HTC kit and it's come down in price a lot. I wanted a fixed one rather than a sucker one but thanks for the info. Also, as an aside what ROM are you using and are you pleased with it ?

That's what the plug is for. To give devices IR-capabilities
But those plugs only works with apps that supports them. Which isn't many.
i install this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tiqiaa.remote
I understand, I need drivers ... the kernel does not have the drivers for this ...
otherwise work with some models Samsung, hts, LG, Lenovo ... but not sony ;(
maybe I need someone customize kernel ?
sorry for my "perfect" english

These don't work very well in a lot of devices, I have built several myself to control a camera using the instructions here: http://www.wegroo.com/photoirmote/diyirmitter/compact-irmitter/
The problem is the headphone jack doesn't put out enough voltage to run the IR LEDs properly. If it works at all the range may only be 30cm or so and the volume on the phone will have to be at max.
Try turning the volume all the way up and testing at close range, it should work but is pretty much useless.
You can also try plugging in a headphone amp (something like: http://www.headphone.com/collections/vendors?q=fiio). This should give decent range but is really inconvenient.
If you don't want to have an amp hanging off the phone and you need longer than a meter range then you are probably going to have to find a phone with a built in IR transmitter.
Hope that helps.
Edit: also, as someone above pointed out, the software you are using might not support using the headphone jack for the remote. Try photoIRmote because that does work, you can point another smartphone camera at the transmitter and you should be able to see it light up through the camera if it is working, at least then you know if the transmitter is even going and might be able to find some other software that does work.

The software works(a lot better than anything else). The problem is that Sony uses some stupid way of detecting headphones on the whole Z line. If you just plug in a 3.5mm jack without any connections, it will not switch to headphones mode. Other phones (like my previous phone Xperia SP) deal with that just fine. It should work with an amp(it should put the necessary load on the phone). The solution is a small otg smd amp without BTL(so it doesn't shift phases). It will take some time but it should work. I may do it in the future if I need it for something.

Where's the NFC

I can't pair S7 and headset Jabra Stealth through NFC.
Where's exactly the NFC on my S7?
I suppose I have to near my NFC on phone with NFC on headset, right?
BTW is the NFC used only for the very first phone-headset pairing and then BT will be always used?
i took a look on this headset on website.. it says that it works BT too.. then do BT pairing way since this BT is better work than NFC.. NFC location is on back of phone but it may be not work if ya use super thick or fully metal case also NFC needed to enabled on via setting or swipe down from top.
My question was.. does the headset work with NFC only for the initial pairing or for the calling too?
I suppose only the first pairing, so Bluetooth should work for all the rest (as usual).
Anyway I can't perform the first pairing through NFC with my S7, even naked.. I don't know why
NFC is only used in the initial pairing initiation. It only has a transmission distance of less than 2 cm.
Here is a picture of the internals of the S7.
This picture is from the full tear down on iFixit.com
They have just removed the rear glass plate, the rear wireless charging coil is visible in the middle of the black cover.
Just above the power button level, in the middle under the camera, is the rectangular section of the NFC antenna.
Basically you can aim for a thumbprint area just below the camera on the back center and hit the NFC antenna.

Only the pairing can work with NFC. The rest is all over Bluetooth, so don't worry.
If you want to pair it this way, make sure NFC is on on the phone and you put the back of your phone against the device.
In the up screen seee has there?

IR Sensor

Purchased 2 versions of IR sensors from eBay, 1 that is supposed to be iPhone only that plugs into the headphone jack and one for android that plugs into type c jack.

Sure thing and why wouldn't it? IR is a pretty dumb sensor (At least I think so). Will post my experience
Update:
Just now received the sensor I'm the mail. Plugged it in, downloaded the app and voila it works!

Can you post some pictures of it working?
Pictures of both the product and the app?
It's plug and play in the sense that it works like headphones and microphone. There's no difference to the phone. The app handles the IR logic by "listening" and playing sound through headphone jack.

Don't see how a picture can capture that... More like a video. I'll see what I can do
Could you also post links to the ebay listings?

I own a Sony Android TV, a newer model, and it worked fine. I've tried on a older Sharp TV but it didn't work on that one.
Anyway, you must make sure you open ZaZa Remote app, insert the IR device in the 3,5 mm Jack port AND switch the IR device slowly until the phone detects it as if you inserted your headphones (there are instructions on the device's package). Somehow, switching the IR device in the 3,5 mm port acts as a on/off switch.
I have no special settings in the app but I remember I've played around with the IR driver settings. If you swipe from the left part of the app to the right, there is a bottom button about IR driver. Play with that one and try.
Now I don't have the device with me so I can't give you more specific details.
Kind of forgot to update this.
The second IR sensor that I ordered arrived and it's wayyy better (Connects via Type C and uses OTG)
I can use stuff at range unlike the AUX connector.
But it's also 8 times more expensive ($~11)
Could you post a link to the one you bought please?

IR device needed power supply for working, so make sure put volume to full so it can get power supply... But it's only work for small range, because OP5 dose not giving enough power supply to IR device for long range. Try it....
