I haved rooted stock rom. But i just unrooted and put same unrooted stock rom with mobile odin. Tried factory restart and cache clear.
Phone boots normaly and show network signal, but can't call or recive calls. Say "not registered". I tried to manualy choose operater but nothing.
My IMEI number is original but serial number is 000000.. When call myself from another phone it is not out service but S3 not show call.

What I can do? Update firmware?

First of all try unbackup EFS(in G-play there are some tools,i prefer K-Tool).If there is more issues try custom ROM with patched modem and patched kernel. If you prefer read this: post 1441 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48578725#post48578725

Thanks, but this patch I must use every time I update phone. I haved rooted phone, but I want normal, unrooted phone to use updates.
Does anybody alse now how to fix? Maybe modem or update?
Does flashing new version of stock rom will help? Is efs backup just for IMEI problems or can help with s/n 0000?

why don't you try to just update your firmware to 4.3 (choose 4.3 stock roms) to quickly fix those issues.

I dont have official 4.3 for my country. Maybe same MG4 firmware?
Just root your s3 and then dpwnload XXEMG4 modem for s3 and apply that modem from recovery mode..it will be fixed..

as you are running liquid smooth, you should probably have a kernel that supports triangle away. open the app and reset the flash counter to 0. then just flash a stock firmware of "your region."

latest firmware for UK is I9300XXEMG4. you can download it from many sites just google it
On samfirmware the uk unbranded firmware is listed as BTU.

no problem with MG4! it has good stable performance. you may flash MB5 though no problem that's your wish. but be sure you back up your efs before flashing any firmware released after MG4 including itself!

you may back it up using an app "HC kTool." you may also back it up from recovery mode(only philz recovery can do that).

But as we know the firmware is full of messy bugs I just installed the old 4.1.2 firmware from Samsmobile and kies too.. But the problem is that I can't access my network. There seems to be only emergency calls... Can you guys get me this problem fixed? Is there any way to downgrade my phone to old 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. I desperately require some help.

flash this modem xxemj4.....google it.....or u can try imperium 4.1.2 rom
try Gorgoid 2.7a. MJ2 firmware with MJ1 modem. i flashed over CM11 and all good.

Thanks dear, I have installed NeatRom Full.
The lag in the lockscreen has gone away so far... Though there the UI is still the same...
It feels as if no change has been made at all....

In fact I was looking for a solution to switch back to Custom 4.1.2 as it was the perfect ROM so far for me.
I have downloaded it from Sammobile but after Installing it via Odin I am unable to see any network and the Phone's IMIE is changed. I would greatly appreciate anyone to come up with solution for that....

I also tried to install the CM via its official Windows Application. When it completed there was no network again... Can you provide me the link of the ROM that you installed? Is it Zipaligned?

Correct me if i'm wrong but maybe u have a problem with efs partition from downgrading unto lower version of android..

All I had to do was just Install the Patched Modem MG4

Check your IMEI number, wheather it was changed to 0049XXXX - I have had the same problem. I downloaded from Sammobile firmware v4.3 and flash your phone with odin. My IMEI and network connection was restored. Looks like Samsung does not like us to downgrade the firmwares.

Hello guys....
I am very thankful to the xda forum and all the members who helped me to get through a serious problem..
Recently I installed 4.3 Leaked version on my GT-I9300 and the ROM proved to be worst ROM of life. So I decided to go back to 4.1.2.
I installed the custom ROM via Odin but I confronted a serious issue, when I was finished the installation I found that there was no network at all... Samsung's official told me that it is impossible to reverse the Android version...
I had no clue what to do. I flashed many ROMs but no solution at all. My IMIE was also kinda jumbled..
Many guys said it is EFS issue... But it is not EFS issue...
It is all because of different Modem issue.. all you need to do is just install a clean custom ROM from http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/2/ and Install the patched modem... you are done..
So here is the solution:
1. Download your desired CUSTOM ROM for your Country from Sammobile...
Link http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/2/
2. Install the ROM via Odin
3. Root it and Install your favorite recovery.
4. Install the Patched MG4 Modem Zip in Recovery Mode. Link https://www.dropbox.com/s/geispctijp...9300XXEMG4.zip
You are done....
This problem is all about MODEM version, so I don't think if EFS tricks are involved here.....
Finally credits go to all the XDA Members who put their heart and soul to present all the required guidance for me to be able to downgrade to lower Android Version.. I have only compiled the whole stuff into a single thread....

Actually the problem is not finding the solutions but finding the right solution.
Worth members of XDA Forum post a lot of solutions for a particular problem and thus newbies like me get even more confused... So it definitely takes some time for us to come to a point when we are able to get the desired results.
Sometimes, we are not able to clarify our queries.....
As in my problem only a Modem was required while I was looking for EFS solutions!
After Flashing the MG4 modem my battery life has become worst. I don't know if it is because of the Modem.. but whenever my phone is on airplane mode then the battery remains at the same percentage but while on network my battery keeps on draining without even texting or calling

I hope you have an efs backup. if not follow the steps in the linked thread.
btw which 4.1.2 did you flash. when you flash 4.3 rom efs will change to v2 so you need a rom with efs v2 baseband (everything newer than xeemg4)

yeah I know but which one (the build number) something like XXELLA or XXEMG4...? you can see it in settings menu
in fact if you have flashed a firmware older than XXEMG4 then also its baseband is flashed, and these old basebands are not compatible with efs v2 which has been flashed through your sammy 4.3 update.
This could PROBABLY have caused your imei problem and you would only have to flash a baseband newer than XXEMG4 to PROBABLY solve it. or your efs is corrupt than you should follow the steps in the stickies

U dun have to flash a modem NEWER than xxemg4. U nid to flash xxemg4 modem and its okay alr. Mg4 modem will work.

Kies shld have an emergency firmware feature. Try using it.
1. U will not. Just dun downgrade
2. If u aren't gg back to 4.1.2, dun bother. But recommended.
3. Yes.
4. Ur choice. If u wan bugless rom, go for stock rom. Many also say stock is one of the best.

Thanks for reply. I read that some people lost the IMEI when they flashed STOCK ROM 4.3? as I said the device came from Russian market and I want to flash Middle east ROM?

If u are rly just tat scared to lose ur imei. Go kies and do the firmware recovery. U will get stock rom automatically.

That's what I am worried about. To loose IMEI or get the region lock back. The phone model is GT-I9300RWDEUR. Can I find stock rom for it with no region lock?

The ICS 4.0.0 is causing to many problems and device hangs all the time
Actually it is from Greece. I was confused with the language (Ελβετία= Swiss)

So if I upgrade to 4.1.2 before EMG4 , I won't have EFS/IMEI problem?
All I have to do to flash midle east ROM and then to find the Modem driver and install it through odin?

What is the difference? Odin only flashes tar?
I need to find modem driver in tar format first?
Odin flashes tar
CWM and other custom recovery flashes zips .

When i flashed 4.0.4 version via Odin i dont have network or service, my IMEI was 0049********* type. Pls how can i fix that? I cant find solution, i just want latest version that not buggy on my S3. Thank you

You should've done some reading first:banghead:
I am afraid to ask if you have Efs backup?
Flash 4.3 again and pray . If it recovers(imei) then downgrade to 4.1.2 and when you choose firmware be sure that it's not below mg4 modem.
Backup Efs after flashing 4.3 if you get back your Imei.
