[Q] Whatsapp voice message problem - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hello guys, not sure if this is happening to everyone, on my SK17i, with stock GB .62 rom Whatsapp seems to record audio TOO DISTORTED, my voice gets recorded to badly that people doesn't even hear what i'm speaking about... (Comes out VERY loud)
Sometimes i have to put my phone very far away from me, and not having ANY type or environment sound or gets distorted right away.
I don't believe it's a Hardware problem since Facebook audio works good, calls also works good, and in .587 ICS WA recorded on good quality...
If someone has this bug or knows how to fix it would be awesome...

Nope, sent a ticket to WA Support, the only thing i've found is that on ICS the audio got recorded on .AAC, MONO, 22.05KHZ, while on GB rom the audio's are on .AMR, MONO, 16KHZ/14BITS, some friends cellphones record the audio on .M4A (AAC Codec), Stereo, 22.05KHZ, so basicly they did something that changed the AAC codec intro AMR records...

Skype in Ray without headset

Has anyone managed to make a video call over Skype from Ray without using headphones? I've been facing this problem ever since I got my Ray (4 months already) - looks like the speaker is too close to the mic, and that causes some strong feedback which in turn creates unbearable noise in the mic. Is there any solution to this? And has anyone experienced it at all?
I must note that when I use any headset (apart from original SE Bluetooth set, which is a different problem), the problem is of course gone, because there's no feedback in that case. Also, this problem only occurs on video calls, i.e. only when Loudspeaker is on. If I'm making audio-only call (that is, when sound comes from the earpiece on the phone and is silent enough not to reach the microphone), there is also no problem.
yea, have same thing on my ray. Its all about filters, we have it at our pc's for mic's, u know this noise options ... but i think its to hard for a phones ))
Короче не пруха )
I made several Skype calls using the cam or speakerphone, no problems here.
Sent from my ST18i using XDA
azz: this is actually trivial and modern phones do it every day. The Ray even has 2 mics on different places which are used to filter out noise from speech. I'm not sure why it doesn't work well on your Ray, though.

You have to turn the nose filtering on yourself though ... or at least it's not on by default in the ICS beta ... been a while since GB for me.
I think I have fixed this, thanks to replies of all of you guys. Try going to:
Code:
Settings > Sound
and turn off the xLOUD setting. I've tried it on three conversations this morning and it seems to be okay, but I'd like to know if you can improve your results too.
Ok lemme see. Iam still trying different rom's on my ray, since ibeats in miui not so perfect, iam taked repack from 4pda to check it and now can test with xloud too, coz in Miui u havent those options

Audio quality problem

Im on the latest coolexe ROM, this problem occurs when im listening to music (using poweramp) and i noticed that the audio quality changes after receiving a call, the only way to solve this change in quality is doing a reboot. Anyone else did notice this? Any solution? I think it has to do with the codec used to record a call, maybe its not releasing something after the call... i cant post in the coolexe thread because i dont have enough posts.

[Q] No audio when recording video and sound

Hello,
Recently got my hands on a secondhand SGS2 and it seemed to work perfectly, except for the following;
There is no audio when recording a video or using the memorecorder! The mic seems to work fine since I have no problems with calling people, they can hear me just fine.
This was all with the stock ROM (4.1.2), so I thought it might be a software problem, rooted the phone and installed CM10.1. Still the same problem! So I went back to the stock ROM and while playing with the FM radio I noticed that when I press the record button in the FM radio there is no audio in the recorded file either!? I also tried playing the files back on my PC.
So to me, it seems like it's an encoder problem (is that even possible?).
I've also installed an app called igCamera to tried and change the mic options / encoding but that didn't make a difference either.
Any ideas on where to go from here? Anything else I can test?
Thanks!

I bought it from my sister-in-law for an extremely low price, so returning it is no option Besides, since I can make calls the hardware seems to be ok. Or is there another mic used when recording video?
Anyone? I've tried various testprogram's to test the microphone but they none of them can detect any sound! From what I understand the SGS2 has 2 microphones, can someone tell me if the second mic is only used for noisecancellation, or is it also used to record audio? If the same mic is used to make calls as for recording video then it must be a software problem I guess, but I have no clue how to solve this.. :silly:

Callers can't hear me, or hear me very poorly

Hello!
I have a serious problem with my Z5C.
As I stated in the title, callers can't hear me. It's probably software issue, because when I turn on loudspeaker mode everything seems to be ok. But I'm not so happy with everyone around me hearing my conversation.
I have tested microphone in service menu - everything OK. When recording video, sound being recorded properly also. I have tested an AOKP rom recently and this also helped with problem. Now I am back on modified Nougat stock and problem occurs again.
Any solution to this?
