Hi all,
Have just started using a Lumia 920 and followed the App Studio method to update to GDR 3. Now I believe at present by warranty stands void! My question is, when the official release for GDR 3 does come out & after updating my phone with that, will it restore my warranty?
Is there a method to revert to Amber should I need to hand over my phone for warranty issues?
Please do shed some light on these queries.
Thanks,
Jude

Hi guys,
Firstly, I have to say the n00b video was hilarious.
I got my Samsung galaxy s2 today and it's locked to HG3 in the UK. I am running the 4th software update and HG3 haven't provided any more and have no ETA on when the next one is available.
Does anyone know how to debrand the phone so I can install/get the unlocked handset updates?
Thanks,
JJ

I'm on orange and followed these instructions. Read the whole thread! Important you do that! It's long but do it!
Hey there guys. I bought my girlfriend a galaxy s2 off the bay, and its locked to orange. She is on O2, the ebay advert didn't state the phone was locked. Anyway, i have tried everything i could to unlock the phone and had no luck. Even took it to a shop but they had no joy either.
My last chance now is to take it to orange personally and see what they can do but i want to restore it to its original condition first as I initially rooted the phone and installed litening rom on it. So, just wondering, how do i unroot the phone and then put all the original orange branding/rom back on?
Really need your help guys, and really appreciate it

Hey,yeah ive seen that thread and it makes no sense whatsoever!
The thing is, I have tried chainfires unlock app which didn't work, and isn't that app based on that unlock method in the thread you linked? So it prob won't work
So again guys, how do unroot and get all the original orange branding and firmware back on the phone. There must be a way surely?
Really desperate guys
Go and flash a stock rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928&highlight=orange
get one from ebay, only 10 quids lower than average price.
now the phone keeps stuck in demo mode .
basically i can not use facebook and i will see the demo flash again and again when charge the phone. also it may ask for resetting sometimes.
how to get rid of it ? the seller answer really slow and now it is chirstmas,
it is very hard to return for a quick refund now.
i was told some of HTC users met the same problem and solve it by renew the rom
anyone know where can i get one for nokia ?
any answer will help
thankyou and merry chirstmas
Try to flash an original rom into it
The Demo's are only put on there via Nokia themselves as there is no way to flash the software yourself, i know this because i deal with demo handsets, chances are you have a stolen handset my friend, as far as a i know there is no way to remove the demo content as it would be easily removed by customers in the shop, even if you do manage to find the demo content, you may even be prompted to enter an operator password, maybe not!?
See if theres an update for your phone, or try to find a task manager where you can switch off apps, but i'm guessing you won't be able to remove it and the update may even leave the demo content intact, i would personally speak with the seller if they're not co-operative then i would leave feedback reflecting that and maybe even speak with nokia themselves, being the good eggs that they are they may just give you a new one.
Alternatively you could brick the device and send it back to nokia claiming that it's a dead handset, you may / will need proof of purchase so again, speak with the seller and see what can be done, but if it's a hot handset then i'm afraid your **** out of luck on that one.
You may not need a receipt so maybe speak with an engineer first to see what can be done, it's a young phone so should theoretically be covered by some sort of warranty, worst case scenario is that it is stolen and nokia know about the phone, you send it off, they check on it and they retain it and your out of pocket.
Best case scenario, you speak with nokia, they exchange it for a new one, but i guess you'll have to take a risk to find that out.
Good luck m8.
Hi there , I've got the exact same problem since a few days. (new phone, bought on ebay , nothing but demo-mode even after the 3 button reset)
But I found this after several hours of searching...
It's all legal and all the programs are freeware.
Needed:
The flashprogram 90Mb : phoenixslayer.blogspot,com
The original OEM ROM Nokia Firmware Downloader : code.google,com/p/navifirmex/
in this Nokia Firmware Downloader: select option and choose server , then "Nokia Care Suit"
The Nokia Lumia 800 is found under the code name: RM-801 and there are 3 firmware releases.
'
The latest Nokia Lumia 800 version at this very moment is : 1600.2479.7740.11451
This also can be found in the list of Navifermex.
Select your country and download your OEM firmware automatically.
Note: it's large.. app. 435 Mb.
I haven't flashed my Lumia yet because , it's in the store for research. ( maybe it's a stolen phone or defective. this way I can nail the german seller , with help from ebay and paypal )
But hopefully I can help some people with their Demo Content Nokai Lumia 800 problem.
Good luck and hope to succeed.
Greeting from the Netherlands.

Free at last.
I debranded mine 4 days ago and I got rid of that demo content and all [email protected] stuff.
My phone is brand new. I've just followed the steps from another site. I'm new in this forum so, i'm not allowed to give external links.

My issue is when I attempt to plug my phone into NCS when starting the recovery process, all that happens is that my phone vibrates and my computer doesn't recognize the device

How to effectively debrand a Nokia Lumia
Hi everyone, I've just posted the solution to debrand (remove the "demo" content) a Lumia phone in the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23487766&postcount=37
It's extremely easy! I just got this phone and went to knowing ZERO about Windows Phone, to finding the right programs and doing it without bricking!
This forum saved my life! XD
I hope this helps more people!
Need your help

To remove the demo content you have to flash your device with a ROM from a device that has no demo content in it. You can use official Nokia ROMs (you get them with the NaviFirm program) or the unofficial ones that are posted around this forum (as I'm pretty noob on this, I went with the official ones)
Check my link above, where I describe the steps to do it, and provide an additional link to a step-by-step guide to download the ROMs with NaviFirm and flash with Nokia Care Suite.
Good luck!

i joined this forum by looking to this thread and tht some people have really fixed it
i am having the same issue so someone please tell me how to fix this problem ....
Maybe it is a stupid question and if so, I apologize for this.
I bought a Lumia 710 and I want to interop-unlock it. Just checked for every thread in the forum but I don't have found anything that fits to me.
If I follow one of the guide in the forum, I flash my phone and everything goes ok.
When I want to return to stock ROM (example for warranty), what are the steps to follow?
very thanks to everyone!
I would imagine you'd need to download the stock ROM from NaviFirm and flash it with either Nokia Care Suite for DLOAD bootloader or for QC bootloader there is another program you need to use, but I can't find the name of it.
All info is here, just read everything
And this is what I thinked about, but I want a confirm.
The version I have of NCS Product Support Tool is 2012.12.5.3 in normal mode found my phone, but in QC bootloader don't find it.
If i wish to restore original rom, there is a guide for it?
yes, you use NSS to restore your bootloader. check it out in development thread and say THANKS to the Developer because he has mede it easy to use.
Cheers
Use the NSS Suite to get back the Nokia DLOAD then just update normally to get back to the original state for your warranty claims
Sent from my Lumia 710 using Board Express
Ok, thanks to all, for now I don't have necessity to claim for warranty, but you know, Fortune is blind but bad luck sees us well!!!
installing rom on pre installed rom
can i install rainbow mod 2.1 on lumia 710...
i have rataplan v1.0 installed...
should i flash it or i have to do someting else..??
The phone runs Windows Phone 7.5(because in my country(Bulgaria) 7.8 is not yet availiable).
Is there a way to enable bluetooth file transfer? I read that the only way is to use an app that requiers a fully unlocked phone. If this is not true please say me how to enable Bluetooth file transfer. But if it is true please tell me how to full-unlock the phone. I don't have an unlocked boot loader, but if there isn't another way I will unlock it()if it is possible). Please tell me how to do it.
you should download the latest 7.8 Firmware with navifirm, and flash it to your phone.
you don't need an unlocked bootloader for that.

Does the 7.8 firmware support Bluetooth file transfer?
Will it ruin my guarantee if I flash it without zune?
How can I do it?
- i flashed the latest 7.8 release yesterday, and the stock rom has nokia bluetooth sharing application built in
- yes, it will void your warranty

If I return the firmware to the original one using navifirm again will they notice it?
And another question: I looked in Navifirm and noticed that there is no Bulgarian version for the phone there, but the phone didn't have Bulgarian language when I bought it so I am not sure that it runs Bulgarian version now. Will it be a problem if I install Russian version instead?
Of course it's your choice what you do, but in my opinion, you should be fine.
When i had a problem and needed the warranty, then nokia always repaired it, they seem to be very "fair" in handling these things.
