Damn app crashed before I could write anything ! Anyway I've had this phone for three years now and the devs went silent for awhile and now there's tons of interest back in it , the Note OG still rocks , I had a note 2 but got a divorce and lost it only had my note and it stil rocks , might get a s3 .
What phone (not new ) would be a worthy replacement for my Note? I haven't had anything but Samsung (in android and windows phones ) just curious ?

Just need some advice from the Family.

So after spending MONTHS trying to train my wife to be an android lover. One of her clients GAVE her an iPhone and now she's sold out. Fine. Not a big deal ...because I HATE the iPhone...I am a firm believer that over all the android is a better phone . But its hard to make that point..when she's holding the iPhone 4 and I'm holding my LG p509. Now of course ivlove my Opt BUT...I'm gonna need an upgrade ..now I'm pretty broke but IV got a few bucks (USD) ...but what I DO have are two ..perfect condition LG p509 s. HERES MY QUESTION TO YOU WISE MEN (and ladies) is there any site I could trade my two phones in for a better One? Which android should I think about moving too?? And what would be the best way to go about it. Please? A little advice?
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
Okay, I do have to disagree with you just a bit. You see, even as a true Android lover, you can't say things like "Android is superior in all ways." Honestly, iPhone sales are not decreasing. Many people I know still enjoy using their iPhone because they find it simple. These people can't be bothered about what overclocking is and they already feel a great sense of accomplishment with Cydia installed on their iPhones
Here's just my 2ยข on what you should be looking out for your new phone. Firstly, you should get a phone with at least a dual core processor (powerful huh? Wait till you see phones running quad core ). Secondly, you would want a phone with a larger screen display. Let's be honest here. O1 is a very good phone (my first android phone) and I love it. However, I am unable to enjoy fully games such as GTA3. Lastly, since you're such an Android lover, do checkout the xda development page for your future phone. Surely you'd want a phone that is constantly being developed by a pro active community?
Have a nice day!

@Jgreenmusic You can use your very own XDA Market, start now, because it is my belief that when you have something to sell...don't delay! Happy selling!
First, try to look on xda which phone has the largest developer (i don't how you will find it) and when you know it already see the specs at gsmarena.com

It's mobile world Congress if I'm not wrong. You should be waiting a while more, since Samsung promised to release phones with better battery life this year. Seems promising and I would wait and see if I were you and if I wasn't in a hurry to get a new phone

Get a phone that is exactly what you want.forget the specs.forget the media propaganda.find a phone that is the right size.is fast enough and dose what you want it to. The reason I phone users are so happy with their phone is that they are all the same.there is nothing that is different or even slightly special from any other iPhone.everything works the same and there is no chance of some individuality might cause a problem.
Get the phone that fits your individuality.be it Android or apple.
hi there mate, thank you for posting this as i have been in the same connundrum over the past few months.the things that concerns me when choosing a new phone are:1. unlocked bootloader as some phones shipped with locked bootloaders. this cannot be a good indication for future developments on the platform. 2. wheter or not the phone has a strong developer community support. i see this as an important feature to ensure that my mew phone would be able to stay fresh for at least the next 18 months.to be honest, i was so close to ditching my optimus one last month, having had the phone as my trusty companion for over a year. but the recent development in cm9 port for our phone (time and time again, the optimus one dev community has never failed to surprise me) had allowed me to stick with the phone for atleast another couple of months, enough time to see whats in store for us after wmc.
Btw , have u tried selling your two o1s on eBay?
The iPhone sucks at price, the only nice thing about it are the animations, you can take a phone with 2x the specs of iPhone woth half price

Got mine sometime ago........actually two months now
... still "undecided" if I want to let go of my INFUSE (unlocked + rooted) ,,,,
>>few noteworthy things come to mind..
CONS:
1) Kernal LOCJED DOWN
Note= seems semi-locked ...seemed complicated to root >>like in Moto phones , where as Infuse = was easy peeze to do
2) Email on Note = shows "inbox" only on the main " EMAIL VIEW" screen
(if you have mutiple folders - you have to go around a complex way to see the other folders - Infuse shows them as like u see in NORMAL GMAIL page...
3) After installing SKYPE
(it adds a link in "DIALER" section - so you this weird choice to use SKYPE or NORMAL DIALER to make calls - sucks as MS now owns SKYPE - so guess they plan to make things in Driod world just as messy and windows...)
4) HD videos are MV (as in MS phone version) not Mp4 for real 1080P movies and videos....
Pro:
1) my 32GB card is fully supported - infuse is limited to 16GB (tried to swap over Sd cards infuse only sees 16gb from note so CON for Infuse )
2) NICE BIG SCREEN .. luv it for movies !
3)...
still playing around
Cheers
Wow I found rooting very easy and Odin cwm simple also
Kernel flashing just well a flash. But each to his own I love this phone. I had the capitivate, thena streak then infuse then a xoom then a skyrocket and now the note all were easy to root and cwm. I always say read and Google and YouTube it may save u a brick.

Note
Im in love with mine. Traded my sensation and ipod touch 4g for it. Best trade i have ever done through craigslist. Root and custom Rom was easy to do. Running seraphim Rom love this phone. I've had alot of phones. This one hands down the best one.

Miss my HTC One.

Hi, I bough the HTC one when it came one on T-Mobile, then after 4-5 days of use I decided to return. The reason was I had the Galaxy s3 before and thinking that the Galaxy s4 is much better watching online reviews. And I went and bought the international version of Galaxy s4 i9500 for $775 cash. Thinking its octocore and it has to be unbelievably fast. Now after using the GS4 I realized that HTC one is a much better and faster phone. Everything on the one is PREMIUM.
Now Im trying to get rid of the i9500 and get the HTC one back.
Just sayin dont trust any reviews on the youtube they are all bull****

I also have both phones. If I had to choose I would pick the HTC one. The s4 is a nice phone but the ui isn't as smooth from my experience.
If the ui on the s4 was just as smooth as the HTC one it would be hard to choose. The s4 has a lot of customization.

I will never buy a phone with non removal battery. Its stupidity. Here in europe you get 2 years for warranty and 6 months for battery. If you are unlucky after one year and battery is gone you have to pay to much for a replace battery or if you try to change it by yourself you loose warranty. Thats stupid in a phone of 700 or more euros. And so far i saw from comparison s4 is slightly better. Thats all because I say. Lol

Why be so childish over a phone? If you don't like the HTC one then why are you on this forum? No need to bash other phones just because you "think" yours is better. I have the HTC one and I love it because it's for me, my girlfriend has the gs4 because she's used to touchwiz and I've played with it and it's also a great phone. Stop all the bashing and just enjoy your phone. It's all about personal preference.

Because Android and iOS have polar opposite philosophies. Android offers users choice; and choice leads to freedom, ultimately entitlement. iOS says my way or highway. Capitalism vs. Communism.

The price is a lot more incredible too. Problem with both is, the bootloader issue. They are working on a safety strap to work with or as a recovery. I think N3 is closer to that then the Mega. But he Mega is made to be more affordable. It has already been approved for 4.3 upgrade, 4.4 ?????? We'll have to see. Just 2 weeks ago att had it for $49 online.

buying the note 3 is like going out and buying an ip5s, your stuck with what the manufacture wants you to have
Samsung can suck a hole in a wall and leave android for all i care now days, they peaked with the note 2 and now are on the hill downwards with apple
with that said, 4.1.2 is the last stop for the i717, we are way over the 18 month period and were lucky to even get 4.1.2
the Knox security is a hell of a mess from Samsung for sure , but I still got hope that will not affect the development for this device. Maybe more time but not the end . all this mess for more money in theirs pockets ..

Go to your carrier of choice and play with one before picking something you are unsure of. l rooted mine no problem (Im not a big fan of Roms because they always caused problems after 4.2.2 For me anyways ... something always broke.) My mission now is to find the best functioning kitkat rom as it was meant to be buiIt for aging phones that dont have the impressive specs of a newly released flagship device. l almost got a Xperia Z1 because of my tablet Z but didnt like the bezels top and bottom, (AND NO PEN). I have an S4...but I want a note 1 as a back up. I had the Note 2 but I sold it for lots of loot. The S4 is brilliant but the locked bootloader has cramped the phone to the point of constipation as if you got a S4 on MF 4.2.2 firmware or MK 4.3 firmware the boot loader is super locked. They even killed the service menu. So Im selling my S4 for cash + the note 1 for temp use until I see what I want next. Samsung is the only phone company left with dual storage. LG has the Optimus G pro with 32GB and an SD card slot, but with the specs on that phone they will never see 4.2.2 on it.. And it's a beast of a phone...so I will take this Note 1 + $250 and call it a day until February

Do it. There is nothing better than getting a Nexus. I jumped to Nexus 4 from the Note about 10 months ago, and just upgraded to a Nexus 5. The developer support on a Nexus is amazing. I could have easily stuck with the Nexus 4 for another year, but the lack of LTE was bothering me a bit. A Nexus phone is pure gold. By the time the Note got to be the age that my Nexus 4 was at, I was tired of it. Don't give another dime to Samsung, who will spend it on rewriting perfectly good android code into buggy bloatware. Don't let the lack of sd card bother you. I have lived with 16 GB storage without any issue, and Nexus 5 comes in 32 GB too, for just $50 more.
