Yes it works for almost all L9 versions. You need to unlock your bootloader and install a custom recovery before installing jelly cream.

You can but not (correct me if I'm wrong) the official way, so to speak. Rolling back to older version of sola stock rom would require some basic skills in boot loader unlocking, flashing image etc.
Just search for "unlocking", "flashing" within the forum. HTH.
Please do not post Q&A in a development section.

You don't have to unlock your boot loader or anything.. Just use flashtools and flash a generic firmware... Thats it...by this way u can upgrade or downgrade...

Wrong forum, ask in general pls.
Btw yes, should work with ota, but before it run local-prop and after it push-root-files, that's it :good:
These two files can be found in general forum, the tutorial by DragonClawsAreSharp, you can find the link in the rooting guide in my signature, too

hi i just recently switched from an xperia x10 mini (mimi) to an XPERIA U ST25a
Android 2.3.7
firmware 6.0.B1.564
kernel 2.6.35.7+
I was palnning to update to android 4.0.4 but i was told not to since it get alot laggy.
can someone link me on how to root this device im not sure if its the same way i did
for my mimi.
and what do you suggest is the best kernel/rom for this device? (stable)
i honestly want to get the most of it. thanks for the help in advance.
I HAVE A PROBLEM WHEN TRYINT TO ROOT IT SAYS IM IN MTP MODE, and i dont know how to disable that seems like its by defautl
Just look in this section for an gbrocks and flash it it stock modified gb rom and work great and its also prerooted.
P.S. wrong section pal, it should be in Q/A section, and in future just use search button on this forum coz its been answerd a lot of times

First of all wrong section, you may put in the Q & A section,
Secondly there is no rating for custom kernels/ROMs, every development is best in its own unique way !
Use search for rooting methods

You may require unlocked boot loader for rooting GB

THANKS I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY ROOTED AND UNLOCKED MY PHONE
now im trying to install CWM but on that page it shows only CWM for ICS
im running ANDROIDN 2.3.7
i tried it and when i turn off phone i rapidly prass vol down and shows the blue green blue light but then it goes back to sony logo and starts normally
Now as you have unlocked your boot loader you can flash custom kernels, most of them have pre installed CWM.
Check for GB ROMs in the development forum.
Or CM9 ROMs are pretty smooth and simple, you may flash stock ICS (ftf file) and flash a CM9 ROM.

hi every body
i have an xperia u st25i android 2.3.7
when i decided to root it i was disappointed by knowing my "unlock bootloader allow : no"
plz help :crying: is there anyway to make it "yes" ?
please help me this is urgent
Nope, as of now, there is no way to unlock it.
But you could attain root if you upgrade to ICS, without unlocking your boot loader.

After experimenting around i wouldn't worry about it on the U. Just use gingerbread or update to ics, root, add cwm and flash gb rocks rom. It's the best to use
