[Q] strange lockscreen widget behaviour android 4.3 - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
My first thread here. I have recently updated my s3 to Android 4.3 and everything is fine so far expect a strange lockscreen widget behaviour. I've set up dashclock widget as a default one and it stays that way until I enable data transfer. Whenever I turn on data transfer my default lockscreen widget becomes what you can see in the attachment. In order to see the dashclock widget I need to swype to the left. When I turn the data transfer off the dashclock widget becomes default again.
Is this a normal behaviour for you guys or is there something not right with my Galaxy?

[Q] Samsung Galaxy SII ICS minor problems

Hello. I've installed ICS 4.0.3 (I9100XXLPS), and then rooted it. Everything works fine except for two things: Chainfire3D and lock screen AccuWeather.
In Chainfire3D I can't use per-app settings, because, for some reason, they won't work. I've tried reinstalling it, still no luck.
As for AccuWeather lock screen display, it shows 0.0°C most of the time, unless I go to Dispay Settings, and disable, then re-enable Weather. This fixes it for some time, after which it goes back to 0.0°C. The problem is only with the lock screen one, desktop widget shows normal temperature all the time.
Are these known issues? Any help on how to fix this would be appreciated. Thanks!
I have this problem too. The only solution is to disable weather from lock screen. There is no fix for this issue at the moment.
I've managed to make it work on my Galaxy S II (don't know for now long it will work ):
- I had the accuweather widget and accuweather lock screen enabled.
- Go to Applications on Settings, All applications
- Clear data and Force stop the app called "Accuweather Weather Daemon"
- Clear data and Force stop the app called "Accuweather.com"
- Turn on locating services
- Remove and add again accuweather widget on the home screen. It will automatically use the location service and show the right information.
After that the accuweather widget on the lock screen shows the right temperature as well

[Q] Weather/clock widget will not update current location

Anyone having the home screen weather/clock widget not update your current location? and yes it is set to use current location in the settings. Is there anyway to clear the widget data?
I posted about the same issue some days ago.
Finally I got it fixed. I had noticed that each time I went to the clock app and open the desktop clock tab, it updated the current location. So I looked around and found that it was possible to have the weather on the lockscreen, what I did. I also went to settings>applications management>all and force weather main to stop.
I don't know which stage has been efficient but now my location is correctly updated each hour. I think it's worth a try.

I know it's an old thread, but I had the same problem and it got me on the right track. You need to have WiFi location enabled if you're connected to WiFi.

4.3 Lock Screen with Dashclock: can't tap?

I was excited to upgrade to 4.3 to get the lock screen widget capability, but when I installed Dashclock, it does not seem to work like it should. When I tap on items on the Dashclock widget nothing happens. For example, according to the Dashclock documentation, clicking on the Gmail widget should load up Gmail. It doesn't. Tapping on the settings icon does nothing. Pretty much nothing works.
I think this is most likely an HTC issue with their lock screen app. Does anyone know if there is some kind of HTC API I can use to fix this (Dashclock is open source and I can make changes to try it).
thanks!

Click to collapse
With 4.2.2+ (including 4.3) HTC removed the google lock screen which can be used with dash clock and added their own which you can only add 1 widget.
Yes and that widget does not work properly. Like I said, tapping on the Settings icon for example does nothing.
If you press on any dash clock widget shortcuts it will do nothing you have to press and then unlock and you will be on the shortcut that you tap on.
If you tapped on weather for example when you unlock you will not unlock to home instead you will unlock to the weather shortcut

Aha, that works. Seems kind of strange having to take the extra step but at least I know it works now. Thanks!

[Q] Disable Lockscreen Widget animation

Hi,
im on Cataclysm ROM 4.4, Nexus 5.
im using NiLS for Notifications on my (Standard) Lockscreen.
This works well but i have to enable that widgets are expanded to start the app instantly by clicking on the notification (whatsapp, facebook whatever), if the widget isnt expanded, i have to click on the notification and then unlock.
so with expanded widgets, everytime i turn on the screen this white widget area "animation" is popping up. this is very annoying and looks like the display is flackering.
is there any way to turn this animation off, make it transparent or a way to start the app directly while widget is not expanded.
I know there is locker pro etc which shows notifications also on lockscreen, but im not a fan of custom lockers due they all just dont work as stable or smooth as the stock-locker.

[LockScreen] CM 11 DashClock minimized issue

Hi.
Recently I started using DashClock which is an awesome extension and it shows Collapsed widgets (clickable) on minimized because of my low DPI setting (240?).
The problem is, when it's a minimized widget than clicking on gmail (or anything on DashClock) highlights the unlock slider on bottom.
Is there anyway to make it twerk on minimized or am I stuck with annoying and ugly maximized?
Thank you
