[Q] Omega v18 TW VZW install problem - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

The op says that after downloading the file, unzip the file then put it in the TWRP/BACKUPS folder.
After booting the Safestrap recovery, use restore to install the rom.
Either I don't understand or there's some problem with the file I've downloaded.
When I unzipped the file I got VZW-S4-SS-TWRPBACKUP-I545XXUEMK8MK2OMEGA18 folder and inside there were another folder called
rom-slot2-I545XXUEMK8OMEGA18 and in that folder there are 5 files
(data.ext4.win, data.ext4.win.md5, recovery.log, system.ext4.win000, system.ext4.win000.md5).
After putting VZW-S4-SS-TWRPBACKUP-I545XXUEMK8MK2OMEGA18 folder into TWRP/BACKUPS folder,
I rebooted the phone into SS recovery and click restore button, but I don't see the VZW-S4-SS-TWRPBACKUP-I545XXUEMK8MK2OMEGA18 in restore. I have re-downloaded the zip file 3 times and got the same files. What am I doing wrong?

[Q] AHH!! failed

I got clockworkmod working fine, but I am unable to loan ROMs. Whenever I downloand a ROM it opens in muiltiple files and it also happens with TNT, Thi is where Im stuck
Step 3.
Copy whatever ROM you wish to install (it should be a .zip file) to the ROMs folder on your tablet. (Leave it zipped, Clockwork will install it from the .zip file as is). trying to get VEGan 5.1 final
Note: If the ROM you downloaded has multiple files, look for the one named “update.zip” and rename it to whatever you want (something to help you differentiate it from other ROMs), then copy that to the tablet. If an “update.zip” doesn’t exist, and you’re lost…read through that ROM’s thread and see if anybody else asked about it…if not then you probably should (on that ROM’s thread…each one is different).
I cant fiqure how to get the update.zip. When I do open the files i get 3 files
META_INF,boot, and system. I tried to copy and paste all three files in the ROMs, but it never show the update.zip
You don't need an update.zip with clockworkmod recovery... you just need the rom that is zipped and can be named anything.
Stop unzipping the rom you are downloading and just copy it to your device. Install that with clockworkmod recovery.

you've answered your own question, the rar or zip file you downloaded might be in diff names, but always leave it in zip format. if in rar, unrar and the zip file should be in it.
in clockwork recovery, you can update by update.zip or choose your own zip

That is my problem, if automaticly unzips when it downloads. I am not sure if its my windows setting becaue I am unable to download TNT lite because I keep getting " windows can no opem" message. Is there a way i can prevent it from unzipping? Thanks BTW
maybe use a diff browser to download or right click on link and "save as"
You might be hitting open instead of save ...
down load it direct to your Gtab
Download the file directly to your tab. Use ES file explorer to move it to your SD card if necessary. Reboot in to clock work - choose file from SD card-select it and install.

Corrupt nandroid backup - how do I delete a single file from the system.ext4.tar?

Today I wanted to see what the JellyBean for SGS III is like so I made a nandroid backup of my current setup. After playing with JB for a while, I wanted to restore the backup, but I was greeted with an error message.
I've been messing with this the entire F****** day and so far I've isolated the file that is corrupted (it's /system/app/Keystring_factory.apk).
So I need to delete that file from within the archive. The problem is how do I do that? When I try to copy the file to my computer, it hangs on it and says "corrupted file" (tried windows explorer but also total commander). I am able to open the archive on my SGS III using something like ZArchiver, but it doesn't have the option to delete the file from within the archive.
Help?

U can extract cwm with titanium backup or use a file explorer to extract the backup and delete the file then zip it.
But I would flash a new Rom and extract cwm with TB and restore the parts u need with TB.then when all is good make a new backup.
I don't think it's a good idea to restore a corrupted file even if u find the errors
Btw. Fayaab has tweeted that he is going to release a JB for gs3 tomorrow and this should be working
Tried that too, Titanium got stuck at the file. 7-Zip got stuck even when "Testing Archive". I'll write the file off as corrupt. Interestingly enough, the data.ext4.tar is also corrupt. Does this mean it's a time for a new microSD card? Or is it CWM that's writing corrupt files somehow?
Access system files from recovery any use .

Works on SGS3

TWRP not showing zip files (FIX)

If you have TWRP installed, you may not be able to see your zip folder. Such as a ROM or Gapps. Well I was recently having the same issue. There really isn't a "fix" to it. Its more like solving a puzzle. What happens is there is a duplicate folder somewhere. So to locate a zip file in TWRP simply download your ROM or whatever it is you want. And while you're waiting download a file explorer. The file explorer doesn't matter as long as you can copy and paste/ move files. So after everything is download open up your desired file explorer. And navigate to your download. Copy and go back to the root of your SD. And open up the folder titled "0" and paste your zip files in there. Either the root of the "0" folder or into the download. And now your zip file will show up in TWRP.

why i cant copy apk file from system folder in a rom to another rom?

I'm using V7 MIUI rom, I downloaded V8 rom from miui.com (both of them are Chinese's rom). I find that I can copy apk files in "Data" folder and install it normally. But apk files in "System"--->"Data" and "Priv-Data" cant do like that. I cant install them like files in "Data" folder does, and I notice that those file have a folder in same directory, inside that folder have a ".odex" file.
So, i wonder that those file must be install in special ways? And How can I install them?
Thank you for my poor english.:good:
Those system apk files usualy need to be flashed. You could copy and paste them in in a ROM.ZIP you are currently using and install them via a recovery (TWRP or CWM).
How it is actually done I am not realy sure (no experience) but in theory it should work this way.

Question What if I directly flash the zip file "DN2101_A15"?

So, I tried flashing it through Partition backer but it always should some error, I also placed it in the same folder as the platform-tools and extract zip of file but it does not work. I was thinking what would if I flashed it directly using ADB Sideload? What could go wrong?
