I'm currently running a custom 4.1.2 ROM, testing a few of the 4.4 ROMS. I play around a lot with CPU control, and curious as to know what your settings are on, and what works best for you? Mine is set at standard Hotplug and sio scheduler, and it works fine, but I feel like it can be smoother, without running the performance Governor.

Right now I'm using Mokee 4.4.2 version with PegasusQ governor and CQF I/O scheduler.

I am using SmartAssv2 and CFQ right now on Mooke 30 jan and still observing the battery usage. to be compared when using interactive and cfq, i found it save battery more (thanks to the latest mokee version perhaps?).

Hi all, now i'm using vr- lulzactive with 100-1200 and stock voltages can somowone teach me what is the best governor and i/o for this rom?
cfq/ondemand are usually paired with siyah kernel

This is difficult to say, as it depends on your hardware, apps, settings, region, carrier and usage ... and what is "best" for you (best performance or best battery life).
So, you may have to check out the available governors and schedulers yourself.
Here is a very good thread about io schedulers and governors => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1369817
If you don't read it already and want to know more.
Every ROM I've tried on T959 (Vibrant) seems to lag or lock up.
What are the best ROM's that won't lag or lock up my phone?

O-o that's very odd...which roms have you used exactly? Have you stayed mostly with froyo roms? GB roms or ICS?
Also- what kind of settings do you use? Governors and schedulers? frequencies? Do you OC or UV? Etc. Etc.

I've stayed mostly with the ICS roms.
No governors/schedulers whatever...nothing else on top of the ROM.
ICZen with sub-Zero's kernel was always my favorite ICS build, but you're going to have to accept some kinks when you're running ROM that's been ported over for a device that had official support stop at 2.2. Just be sure to pick a ROM that has some active development. And despite how good a lot of the ICS ROMs are for the Vibrant I don't know if the hardware is going to give you a completely lag-free experience 100% of the time; especially with multitasking (at least from my experience).
You can try to address the lag by changing your CPU Governor to something like ondemand or scary since those will ramp up the CPU clocks to your max frequency the fastest. Smartass and smartass v2 try to balance performance vs battery and were the usual defaults from when I was testing ICZen, but I always found it better to just go for broke since I'm just looking for a full 18 hours off a charge.
Another thing to try is tinkering with the number of apps the system will keep in memory. Try setting it low (3 or 4) if you're experiencing unusual lag.

Well, no matter what...your rom is going to have a certain scheduler and governor set...same with cpu frequencies.
If you haven't changed them at all, then you are running on the default that the rom creator set it to...or if you flashed another kernel on top of the rom, then you are running the kernel creator's default. I'd suggest, the person above me suggested...going with ICzen with subzero or devil...then I would suggest downloading NStools free from the market place and experimenting a little with the governors and schedulers....
some good schedulars are: sio, vr, deadline, or noop
and some good governors are: smartassv2, lulzactive, lagfree (if that's what you're going for)
...personally...to avoid lag and get good battery, I go with a modified conservative governor with a slightly higher max frequency of 1200 normally and 1300 if i'm playing a very taxing game like idk,...dungeon defenders or something.
Now, you'll definitely experience better performance by chancing the governor and max frequency.
For reference go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420742
and to see what I meant when I said that I "modified" the conservative governor to fit my needs...

If you have any question, just ask! But I really think that your lag will go away once you become more familiar with tweaking the settings to run smooth.
If you are really interested in tweaking your phone a bit more than this however...
you can also try running this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276/
with the free app "script manager" from the market. It's definitely worth it in my opinion.
Good luck!

i'm running FE's CM10 jb preview. disclaimer: it's still in alpha. everything works for me; gps is so-so.
the kernal i have is devil3 1.0.4test3 found here. the governor is set to smartassv2 with min of 200 and max of 1000.
also, animations in developer options settings are set to 0.
The default scheduler for the VZW LG G2 is "cfq". After rooting and loading up SetCPU, I notice that the "row" scheduler is included in the factory kernel. Might be old news to some, but I had switched to row on my GNex and had good results. The default governor is ondemand as well, and interactive is an option is battery life isn't a big deal for you.
Row = Read Over Write and is optimized for flash-based devices.
Not sure yet on how battery life will be affected, but I know that the row scheduler is win.
Just FYI.

Haha and i wondered if the scheduler has changed
Good to know
If anyone is wondering (as I was) cfq means "completely fair queuing" and there is a thread with more info here

Here.
Smartmax when coupled with CPUQuiet and Pegasusq with mpdecision. Zzmoove is probably my favorite overall though.

But I use zzmoove

It's a battery saving profile. For gaming, you can set the CPU governor profile to "optimal", set the GPU governor to msm-adreno-tz and if needed increase the CPU Max frequency

Best governor to me is actually conservative. I can maintain performance and get a fluid experience (i dont game) on the UI. Every other governor i tried has micro stutters when scrolling. This one works very well, proably because it does not scale down too fast (which i assume its the cause for scrolling micro stutters). Tried lots of configs and settings on interctive and other governors, but conservative always gives me a more fluid UI
Currently using blu_active from @eng.stk without any lags or stutters.
There's so many to go thru be along time before find a best.
using inyeractive based govs for a while now. have to be tweaked properly though

Zzmove is the real deal on the OPX, incredibly smooth and battery friendly.
Currently i am still on testing roms and kernel for my perfect daily usage (RN4SD)..when it comes to kernel, it made an ocean of choice in term of choosing governor..so far whats your input on blu_active and impulse? I am using impulse and i notice a greater battery life..i never tested blu active so many years even i have many phones and kernel that offers blu_active governor, i always end up choosing either smartass, impulse or interactive(default option if i had no choice) Impulse and interactive are my number one choice..so i need to hear from you how blu_active reacts on each of your phones..actually im not trying to find the "best" since not every one taste were the same..but i am just trying to fine tune with my daily usage as i dont want to keep on changing kernels and roms every day..it might hurt the battery as well..
Are you using Nougat or Oreo ?
Use interactive governor and change the cpu governor tunables using this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-4/how-to/tweak-interactive-governor-tunables-t3608118
