Hello there,
I've looked all over from needrom, to android-XDA, to even some Indian bbs forums. I am currently unable to find a rom for the Indian version of the Gionee S5.5. Does anyone own the Indian variant of this phone? If so, would they be willing to create a Rom?
This could be for either the 4.2 version of the Rom or the 4.4 (KitKat) version.
I would really like to flash the Indian Rom to my Chinese s5.5 so I can have the KitKat update, as well as get rid of all the Chinese UI components. To my knowledge, based on CN amigo bbs posts there are currently no plans to bring this update to Chinese phones--which is unfortunate.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'd even be willing to compensate you if you could fulfill this request!

i can upload indian kitkat rom for u! But i dont knw how do i take a bakup! U have to assist me or giveme cwm recovery img file so that i can take a backup!

I have gionee s5.5 Indian version. Rooted it successfuly. But the problem is cwm recovery tool doesn't support it. So I tried the MTK tools but the problem is it doesn't identify the device I think this is because of driver problem. I am using the driver available on gionee Indian's site. So if some one having right driver or any alternate method than please tell me I will defiantly provide the ROM to you.

I recently bought a DOOGEE DG800 Valencia and I since then and i'm trying a lot of roms but non of them worked and some of them have bricked it and i had to re-install the stock rom .
Anyway now it's ruining android 4.4.2 stock rom !
And i'm looking for 4.4.4 rom or maybe 5 if possible (IMPOSSIBLE HAHA )
And also after searching on the net i'm sure that there's no CM version for it but maybe for mtk6582

You have to be on any previous version of Gionee S6 firmware for the update.. I have already Flashed Gionee S6 firmware on my Z12.. And I am now waiting for the update..

Can you post quick instructions on how you flashed the Gionee S6 firmware? Do you have a link to the .zip file that you used? Finally, did you lose root and have to complete that process again?

Cheers Guys !!! I got the marshmallow update today in gionee s6. There are many new feature which is aweosme. But one problem is bootloader is locked and I am getting difficulties in unlocking the bootloader as well as to root. Any suggestion guys ???

Did you flash the stock rom of Gionee s6 ? you can find it in firmwarefile website.

Probably not
I don't know how I would be able to tell if I was on
it or not. Could you explain what that is? I'm just used to going into settings and updating the software as the updates come.

I installed the update this morning and everything is running good. No glitches that I have experienced at the moment.
