Thanks. I hope samsung will add this feature on next update so I won't need root.

Happy to report this works quite well! I used Wanam to add a bunch of apps to the Multiwindow bar and all of them seem to work just fine in windowed or 4-way mode!
Thank you!!

You have to hit the 'save' icon on the top right corner prior to reboot...it looks like a floppy disk. Did you do that first? Then after reboot, you still have to add them to the side bar by scrolling to the bottom of the side bar, touching the pixelated triangle & choosing edit to add the apps to the sidebar. The previous steps only make the 'available', the last step actually adds them to multiwindow. I hope that helps!
I haven't tested the app much but I ran into a problem... The blue dot pops up whenever I resize the windows by moving it, and it will not go away no matter how many times I click on it again. It takes around 5th seconds for it to disappear on its own after I stop touching it, but the menu pops up again every time I move a window

Duuuuuhhhh, I didn't edit the multi-window dock to add the apps after the reboot, I thought that was done as part of the procedure. Thanks BigBroham!!!! :good:
This is a great feature and maybe I am missing something but I wanted to ask my fellow 10.1 2014 owners a question....with the previous Note 10.1 you could split the windows and the functionality was a ton better. For instance, I could make the top half Kindle (with a textbook loaded on it) and the bottom half S-Note. When reading my text, if I found a passage to notate, I would circle it with my S-Pen and drag it down to S-Note where I could furhter notate the "quoted' text.
If I try this with a 10.1 2014, it no longer works - at least not that I can figure out. When you circle text it pops up but you can't do much with it. The only thing a 2014 seems to allow is dragging it onto a select set of apps that open up from the bottom tray. With the 2014, I can circle a passage, drag it to one of those apps (which then open with the selection showing) BUT if I try to do that a second time with the app that just opened, it won't work.
Has anyone else been frustrated by this 'removal' of functionality? Is there a fix?
How does this work. After I install the app and reboot. What do I do afterwards

You were right it is cooked into the rom, but what about the swipe feature?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
The swipe feature only works from the navigation bar on phones that have on screen buttons, such as the galaxy nexus, and its actually swiping up from the on screen home button. I haven't tried it, but with aokp I know you have the option to have the navigation bar, so you could be able to use the swipe up gesture on an aokp Rom
That being said, once you have Google now installed, it replaces the main search function anyways, so just pressing your search button launches it.

Also with either apex or nova you can create a swipe up gesture on the home screen and assign it to launch google.

Hey guys. Just thought I'd see what everyone uses their multi app Windows for. I think it's a great idea but I can never think of 2 apps I'd use at the same time.
I turned mine off because i dont like the tab thats on the side of the phone. Texting and browsing is one good use for it. Easy to copy and paste links between the two. Although its pretty easy to swap between the two using the home key too.

YouTube and a browser bc YT stops when its in the background and with a mod'd YouTube apk, I can listen with the screen turned off

Student GMail -> calendar. I get notified of school meetings and stuff all the time. Multiwindow makes it very easy to copy over the information into my Google calendar.
But that's really my only use for it. It is nice for this purpose, but I could live without.
Copying links/addresses or other information to a text is a good use, as is from any app to a note taking app.

I have to agree, aside from the cool factor of actually being able to do it, I have not found a practical use for it.
I use it when copy/pasting login credentials from LastPass.

Cool thanks guys
I have used it a couple of times to text while I watch a movie or video.
Before I had the phone, I thought I would use the multi-window a lot and was excited about it.
Tried using it a few times and it just wasn't clicking for me.
I think if I could incorporate my apps with it or if it were more intuitive, maybe I would use it. I don't know.
As of now I have it disabled.
I would like a better app switcher, though. Something like Zephyr for the jailbroken iphone.

Hey everyone. I'm still pretty new to Tasker. I've only been actively using it for about 2-3 weeks. I think I've got a pretty good handle on it, but there's something I can't seem to figure out how to do. I know that by default, Android doesn't allow any app to modify another's notification in the pull-down menu but if I could get take to simulate a tap in the upper right corner where that button is to clear all notifications, wouldn't that do the trick? How so do you get take to do that? I read the was a shell command that you could run that was basically "input tap x-coords y-coords". Tried that but it didn't work. Any ideas?

Hello, all! I have searched tasker guides, and looked everywhere I can think of and can't figure it out. Looking to start Daydream when screen state is off but not docked or charging. Doesn't work for me no matter what I try. "Daydream Launcher" app can not be used as it does not work on it's own to start Daydream much less with tasker profile - appears 4.3 isn't being supported at this time from comments. I am trying with profile:State>Display>Display state>Off to trigger task: Plugin>Secure Settings>Configuration>Helper Action>Day Dream State>On OR task: Plugin>Secure Settings>Configuration>Helper Action>Day Dream>Clock plus (or whatever else) I get nothing either way. Daydream works fine on dock or charge. Anyone have any advice? Thank you in advance for any help you can give!
I'm sure one of our dev's will tackle that eventually..def would be a sweet little tweek.

Just found this thread because I wanted to do the same
Found a solution:
Tasker + Secure Settings (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.intangibleobject.securesettings.plugin&hl=de)
--> Install Secure Settings, Enbale System+, Set DayDream to "always", Set a Task in Tasker if Power + Wireless + AC --> SecureSettings Toggle DayDream
So it will be off if you charge and if you don't charge the DayDream gets activated.

Hi there,
I am a great fan of Sicksky Launcher. Unfortunately has Mr. Michael Benz stopped working on this project.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sicksky&hl=de
My problem is, that I don't get any weather informations, this is for months now. Even older version of the app are not working. I guess that something has changed in the weather API.
I am not a developer, but maybe I find here somone that can bring the launcher back to business [emoji106]

Hi.
1) Decompile app
2) Navigate to app folder/smali/com/sicksky/b/f/a/d.smali and open d.smali file in text editor (notepad++)
3) Scroll down to line 29. There is Michael's api-key. This key must be added to link for working api call in this format:
APPID=XXX where XXX is Michael's api key.
4) First one is call for current weather (line 50):
const-string v2, "http://api.openweathermap.org/data/2.5/weather?APPID=XXX&lat="
5) Second one is for forecast (line 590):
const-string v2, "http://api.openweathermap.org/data/2.5/forecast?APPID=XXX&lat="
6) Third one is for daily forecast (line 1225):

7) Save your changes, recompile and sign the app.

Hi krija,
thank you for your fast answer. I am not a coder or developer. Could you do this modification and share with us? Why is Michael Benz API key not longer working? Are these API keys free, or has a developer to pay for a working key? How about potato API? Would this take effect to the size of the app? Would be great if you could do this. I am very happy that SickSky is back working again. Do you think you could make a patched version without potato weather? Potato seems to drain my battery faster. I would prefer longer battery life before current weather. Time intervall for updates is to short.
If I only remove potato weather, your Sicksky version will keep the last temperature in database and shows it all the time. Would be great if you could do that
Kind regards
Joern

Wondering if it is possible to change the code to make it work as I described.

Hi Joern, if you uninstall Potato weather Sicksky weather will work except current temperature value. No need for any action from my side
Edit: Which time intervall do you prefere? I can change it.
Other posibilities are that i can add to topbar current time or battery status.

This is weired, when I uninstall Potato Weather, SickSky will keep and show the last temperature value from Potato. Even when I clear SickSky cache and data, it will show the last Potato temperature stored after restart [emoji15]
