[Q] Changing NAT Setting - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Hey, Android community. Like many of us, I use my S4 as a true mobile hotspot on my computer, but I also use it on my XBox 360. However, I don't really use it to play against others online, but more just so I can sign into my account and play the games. My question is, does anyone know if it's possible to change the NAT(Network Address Translation) setting? I ask because it appears the reason I can't download certain games, such as Tomb Raider or Batman Arkam City, is because of the NAT setting being set to moderate. I know it isn't a speed thing because I get an average of 30+ Mbps, and the game is only 6.47 gigs. I've been able to download a slightly bigger game through Steam on my computer in under 50 minutes. If anyone else has run into this problem and knows a workaround, any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The NAT setting is not your problem here.
The only time that matters is when finding opponents to play against on live, as anything but open NAT makes it difficult for them to connect directly to you without your console acting as the client (outbound).
I know this isn't an Xbox 360 support forum, but can you list any error messages you received?

I can't remember the exact wording, but it says something about my NAT being set to moderate when I test my wireless connection. I can't download the game(s) I mentioned in my previous post even though I have 30+ Mbps download speeds, where I can download a 7+ gig game through Steam on my computer. When I tried to download the Tomb Raider game at my sister's house, it worked fine albeit a lot slower than I thought it should.

[DISCUSSION] WebOS APPS
Amazon Cloud Player tip
Other than the music stopping when the screen turns off....amazons cloud player is perfectly compatible.
Load the web player website in landscape mode. After it loads...put it in portrait mode and you should be able to scroll through your lists.
this clearly has to do with the cloud player detecting the screen resolution...but without an app or SD card...I have to rely on the cloud player for music....would suck if it didnt work

wipe your tablet and tell it you live in USA during setup and the whole market will be available. Search the forum, this was already covered.
During that setup i did tell it English, USA but the it recognized I was from Puerto Rico and didn't give me much of an option.

Here's what I think might work,
Connect a laptop to ethernet on your home internet connection then use VPN to connect to a vpn server in the lower (upper?) 48. Then set up your laptop to share internet over wifi (hotspot). Connect your touchpad to it then start over with registration etc.
How does a cool, refreshing, and free 6-Pack sound?
If you have an HP TouchPad, get ready to spend some quality time in the HP App Catalog. We’ve selected six apps that normally sell for as much as $14.99 and we’re making them available at no cost to HP webOS customers for a limited time. (See free offer details below.)

I've tried to fix it by creating another account, but then when I tried to access the App Catalog an error message was displayed. It seems that it does some kind of validation with the IP address.
Try the VPN approach, it's gonna work. Or maybe you can try with Impostah, which you can download it from Preware.

I was just coming to post this. Thanks. I have tried glimpse and it's pretty useful. Just sucks that I paid for it two days ago. Should have been patient. On the bright side, maybe it'll motivate the developer to maintain support for the app.
Glimpse and Sparkle already "ran out" last night. Was able to get the camera though.

i think i may be a little dense... how do i go about getting these apps? for example, big boss isn't on the hp app store...
Any luck with the Apps? I'm from PR but I have yet to open my TouchPad since a friend bought it for me. Its weird because I had full access to the Apps when I had my Palm Pre. I wonder if the information sticks from my old Pre to the new TouchPad if not I'm planing on registering it using my Sprint phone as a hotspot to be on the safeside.

Static libraries could be imported without changes most likely, but Java is not officially supported in webos (it uses javascript based on nodejs I believe), so you would have to do a complete program/ui rewrite other than perhaps any c/c++ compiled libraries included (but the different libc version may require those to be recompiled).

Splashtop is out

YaY!. We now have a RDP program which is why I always wanted a tab. So far it works awesome
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
wow, I thought they were doing an RDP client, not their own that you have to install. Disappointed.
works great for me on my android tablet. Love it
Only $5 hell yeah!
Love the app, worth every penny. It's better than all remote desktop apps I've used on mobile platforms. Browsing and Netflix are smooth and stream all my content from two home servers is great.
just got the app not too long ago, the 1st HP/PALM related purchase i ever made and i have to say.....MY MIND IS BLOWN!!!! This touchpad is amazing, i'm glad i went out of my way to buy it!!!
works great. priced at $5 right now. very worth it.
The stream program on the PC wont sign into my gmail :/ maybe cos its on my work pc, I'll have to try at home
Unfortunately it doesn't support dual monitors, so definitely beware, as there isn't an easy answer to this seemingly obvious problem. I don't know a single person who doesn't run 2+ monitors at home.
its GREAT I'M BASICAlly RUNNING A I7 QUADCORE TOUCHPAD caps ftl. Everything is so faasssssttt!11 I WOULD PAY 500 FOR IT LOL ****n caps
This gives me access to everything I wanted from a touchpad. This is a market changer. I will still boot android because I have always been a tester and worked with mods but lets hope this does not have an impact on the CM or XDA projects, specifically donations and such. These DEVs do a fantastic job and need to be reimbursed for their time.
Can I access content with this on a different network? Would I be able to connect to my home pc from work?
From the description in the HP catalog, you should have no problem being on different networks as long as your computer is on. You can even use it over 3G/,4G networks.
either use the ip address when your on another network or, use your gmail account to connect very easily and quickly on any network, that's what i do
I need something that will let me log into my work's terminal server network (I use windows' built in remote desktop on my netbook). I gather that splashtop will not do this though?
splashtop problem
I bought splashtop today and it was great for the first few minutes, but then it locked my touchpad up. Thought it was just a fluke, rebooted, and it locked up again. Really doesn't make sense to me. Any ideas?
My video play's but it has a very slight lag which is super anoying kindof like its missing frames but the audio works perfectly...grrr
awsome app, but is it possible to make the mouse movement in windows better with some driver for windows. i mean something like a driver if i am not on my pc i start a multitouch driver in windows for tablet controlling? because the scrolling in the browser is not so funny if you use the small bars in the browser
Connected once upon initial install and now won't connect again.. Also videos very choppy. (AMD Phenom 2 3.2ghz, 2GB DDR3 RAM, Radeon HD Graphics) ???

[Q] How would one make a 3ds companion?

I have a 3DS and I use Foxfi to have it connected all the time. After trying that out and using it for a while I think that if I could extract the network information from it I may be able to do some really cool things.
Example: If John is playing Mario Kart 7 online, friends will be able to see this without opening up his 3DS.
Example: If you got an update on Swapnote, a browser extension would alert John.
Example: Maybe use the phones GPS to find people to StreetPass with.
Could any of these be done without the use of rooting?

[Q] how to install big games?

i installed the 5mb real racing game from Samsung play store..now it asking to download 400mb update..my mobile net speed is not good...so how to install the 400mb game directly from PC to mobile?
Is there any site where i will get direct links of all the games

Use wifi my friend
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Just go sit outside some place with free wifi and download to your hearts content.
there is no wifi in my place..you guys are lucky ..!!!
If your computer has a Wifi card, just use the Windows application Connectify to create a Wifi network which your phone can use.
You can also pick up a cheap (usually ~15-20$) USB Wifi stick, most do work.
However you should Google first if the stick you've found -respectively it's Wifi chipset- is capable of Hostmode or check with the seller to see if you can return it if it does not work.
Alternatively you can try: (requires root on the phone)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1371345
I'd strongly suggest getting a cheap Wifi router (e.g. the cheap and excellt D-Link Dir300 Revision B, you'll want to install dd-wrt.com on it) since it's the best and most reliable method for file transfers to and from your phone when at home.
Are you sure that no bar (or other similar location) around you offers free Wifi with orders? Most around here do since it attracts the smartphone owning customers which usually are the ones with money) Just get a beer or other beverage and drain their Wifi empty. (These places usually have no clue how to trafficshape so you'll be able to use their whole bandwith up)

Movies, Live TV and Shows on your Nexus Player

Hello guys its been only a week i've had the nexus player and im really enjoying it, i currently have the stock rom and my device is unlocked and rooted.
I have live TV 100+ channels via the app Mobdro http://www.mobdro.com/ which has to be side loaded.
For Movies and live TV i use Kodi and Popcorn time http://popcorn-time.se/popcorntime.apk both which have to me sideloaded.
This is not a complete guide but The Steps i followed to set up my Device.
First i bought this otg hub which has 2 usb and ethernet http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J2N0GB4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

How does the TV app deliver shows? I heard that popcorntime works via torrent which can get some into trouble with comcast. Curious if mob works differently.

I have comcast and i have been streaming from popcorn time and xbmc for a while with no problems. With mobdro you should have no problem it is not torrent based it is a "mirror" more than anything, it takes the live streams from different pages arpund the web and redirects it to a single simple to use app... They have many channels, discovery, science channel , history, espn, nba, fox, abc, cbs, thecw, and many more

Is there an easy way to find the US based channels/streams and is there a favorites list or anything to keep it easy? I'll probably just install it and find out, but others may be interested too.
yes most of the channels are from U.S and can be separated by preset categories like news, sports, shows. and yes you can have all your favorites saved and they come up as soon as you open the app
Just installed it and fiddled with it for a bit and it seems to be amazing... I tried to go Premium but it said "Coming Soon"...
I have no issues paying to remove ads.

I was having problems running showbox on my nPlayer. It would load everything but wouldn't play anything. Even with native player unchecked.
Maybe a future update will fix it.
I mostly use PlexBMC lately anyway as the plex Pass app for nPlayer is giving everyone, myself included, problems playing 1080 files.

hey i also had problems with showbox the first time i installed it. if you start fresh on your NP and try a couple different apks and in versions you might get it to work, i have not found the latest update online but the app updates by itself. and also it does have it hiccups from time to time so maybe you tried it when it was down? just keep trying, i do know that it took me like 4 different apks to get it working
I'm using showbox and it works fine.
I downloaded it from here:
http://www.coolvideoapp.com/
I'm running v. 3.84
I'm also using the 2 version of popcorn time
http://popcorn-time.se/
https://popcorntime.io
All these apps need a mouse control to move into the menu/movie list.
I hope that in the future the developers will upgrade the apps to work just with the Nexus Player remote..

What's the legality of showbox for a US user? Is it storing and seeding a torrent from my IP address or am I accessing a stream?
I've never been personally dinged by comcast, but I have a friend that was recently and it isn't fun (probably going to have to settle for $3k after lots of precourt crap).
Thanks for any info provided!

I dont really know but i think legally it is the same as any other app/website or program to watch free pirated movies... and im not sure about showbox but i beleive it is acessing a stream if not then it is a torrent but it is treaming the torrent storing it in ram and then deleting it, you dont keep it, you dont seed it same goes for popcorntime.
the solution is to buy this

Showbox is streaming, no seeding at all as it isn't a torrent. It is illegal, however but Comcast won't be sending you any threatening letters for it.

I've got everything working perfectly on my nplayer including all the apps I could ever need but only use kodi with plexbmc and either ororo.TV or genesis or sportsdevil. Also the Showbox add-on for kodi works better for me than the android apk.
No! Not at all, the otg and the keyboard are plug and play
Does
Does the device needs to be rooted for popcorn and the rest?
Can't you just sideload it as in any Android Device?
Thanks!
