Hi,
i have a HTC One with Android 4.4 with HTC Sense 5.5.
I have a little Problem with PlayStore! I dont get any Notifications about new Updates in the Taskbar.
Notification for Updates is activated, automatic Updates over WiFi is disabled. I reseted GooglePlayStore allready.
In PlayStore there are Updates but i get no Notification in the taskbar ...
PLS Help me
And sorry for my bad English
I have Android 4.2 stock so maybe it's different but try to go on: System Settings -> Apps -> in the list tap on "Google Play Store"
Verify that "Show Notifications" is checked, maybe it was disabled for some reason.
If that's not the reason I have no idea

Hello,
My SGS3 always check for updates, no matter in 3g or in wifi, it checks each 10/20 minutes which consume data and battery for nothing... and appear in the notification bar.
I can't find the way to make it stop checking update automatically ...
Can you help me please ?
Thank.
I'm on stock LEF rom, no rooted.
How can you see it checks that often?
Try:
Settings/About device/Software update/
Atleast you can set it to wifi only.
I haven't this option : that is the problem ...
I see it because it shows in the notification bar ( 2 grey arrows in the opposite direction ) and when i scroll, it's said checking for update.
How about in Settings/Application manager/All
There is a program called Software update. Close and disable.
I can close and disable it but it still show me that...
When getting one of my apps after rooting, pebble time, it said it required notification access. When trying to enable this it took me to the sound & notification settings; after looking around I couldn't find any way to allow it to read my notifications (not accessibility settings). Is there any way around this?
Thanks in advance - mymindstorm
(I tried to put in screenshots, but my ranking is too low, sry)
Did you go to the app In Settings>manage all apps? There's a box under Force Stop to "Show Notifications." If you did that and it didn't have the notifications option, there's an Xposed module called AppOpsXposed that should let you turn on notifications.

I probably didn't word that right, I need the app to read the notifications. Normally there would be a section in settings for this, but it is removed.
I have update my Z2 on the latest 23.5.A.1.291.
I want to disable auto update in Google Play but the "Auto-updates app" option under the Google Play setting menu shows only two possibility "Auto-update apps over Wi-Fi only" or "Auto-update apps at any time. Data charges my apply" and the option "Do not auto-update apps" is not present (was present in all the previous versions of Android).
The only way i have found, is to go to every single app, select the top right menu and un-select "Auto-update" option.
Is there a way to do it in a shorter way ?
That's weird. I have all three options available.
Here it is.
Badge app icons are not working on my phone for Facebook and Messenger app, for Gmail (probably some more apps but i can't think of them right now) and I don't have them in setting to enable this notification.
It is brand new phone, 10 days old. I have updated it right away on EMUI 5.1 / Android 7.0 / Build STF-L09C432B183 as the phone said it was the latest.
I have uninstalled apps, restarted phone and then installed them again, restarted again. Nothing
Factory reset. Nothing
Enabled everything i could find on notification settings, battery optimization, etc... Notning
I still don't have them in settings so i can enable them.
I get push notifications about mails, about messages, about likes on fb etc... but no badge notification.
I have attached screenshot.
Any help, ideas?
I have exactly the same problem. But ...
There are settings to turn this on. Hold the finger on the empty space of home screen then tap Settings in the lower right and then Badge app icons and then turn them on. However, these settings didn't fix my issue, I hope they solve yours. I have the exact same phone and firmware/software, does anybody know the solution?
Thanks!
I have the same problem. The apps that don't show an icon aren't on the list you mentioned and I've looked through all other settings in the settings app and in the apps themselves. But yesterday I got a notification that there was a new system update. And after I downloaded it I have had icon badges on Facebook Messenger. But still nothing on Snapchat or Gmail.
Working perfectly here. I'm on oreo.

Dear Community,
I have an issue with my Redmi Note 9 Pro Global Joyeuse with FW QJZMIXM 12.0.1 stable: I use an App named "Orientation Control" which overlays apps to force the screen orientation per my needs ( landscape or portraint or whatever ). Overlay is the method to do so, so its the app's scope to do exactly this. The Android System now generates a permanent Message / Notification saying: "App Orientation Control is overlaying other apps. " Unfortunately there is currently no way to disable this message in the Android System settings, the option is unavailable respectively not clickable.
Does anybody know another method / way to disable this message? Maybe ADB / modification of a file or anything else?
Device: Unrooted, Stock FW
Thx fir any feedback
You may be able to disable the notification from system settings.
Should be able to find, and disable, the notification from Settings->apps->manage apps
Look for "Android System" in the app list and check the notification settings for the one you want to disable.
If you don't see "Android System" in the app list then you need to enable the show all apps option from the 3dot menu in the top right hand corner of the screen.

Hi sir_bazz, thx for your reply, but as already said, this is not possible to deactivate the notification via the "Android System" app settings.

Do you see a list of all the different notification channels at the bottom of that page?
You should also see the active system notifications, like this one.
yes i do see this, and it is not possible to disable. Already tried all these settings. My screenshot is from the active notification of the app Orientation Control. And this butten cannot be deactivated. This is the reason why i asked for another option such as an ADB command which e.g. allows disabling the neotification or setting the timer to a greater value than only 2 hours.
