One major issue I found is that whenever I'm at school the phone connects to the WiFi, but the school wifi makes you log on in after you are connected so it opens up a link on the internet browser, well the issue is that this page doesn't open up! my friend has a gs4 with me7 and his wifi works just fine so its not the wifi , has anyone encountered this issue or found a fix or anything ? thanks in advance

Hello,
Not long ago i decided to wipe everything from my device and install new rom and kernel just to fresh it up a bit, i want to highlight this: Before i did it, everything was Alright, at least everything related to internet and WiFi.
Anyway, Since i did it I'm experiencing problems with my WiFi connection (at least when I'm connected to my home WiFi router)
Everything Seems to be OK, i have the WiFi icon on the status bar, with at least 1 or 2 lines of WiFi reception (Same like i had Before i changed ROM and everything was alright)
The problem is that some of the time the WiFi is alright, i Can surf the web and use internet apps like Facebook and YouTube, but Most of the time.... Well i just can't... I do have the WiFi icon but the internet doesn't respond...
Another thing, I'm using laptop and connected to the same WiFi network my phone is connected to and everything is just fine... so the problem is with my Galaxy S2 Device and not my WiFi network..
I found a way to solve it and about 60% of the times i disable and enable WiFi my internet works again for some minutes...
Does anyone got a clue what my problem could be?

Try a different rom .
Put your old rom back on .

About the ROM i really want to stick with my new ROM and i haven't heard of anyone using it experiencing same problems...
I recently bought a Galaxy 4.0 player and so far everything is spectacular.
The only problem is that I can't connect to the wifi network at my school. Everyone else can connect with their laptops and itouchs. I try to connect and it says "obaining ip adress" and then a few seconds later will say "disabled".
Every other wifi network I've tried to connect to has worked perfectly.
Hopefully I'm not missing something obvious.
Any help is appreciated.

I had the same issue. Go give IT a visit and see if there is a second network. My school has two of the same networks. One is password protecred. That is the only solution I have found so far. I hope all goes well.
it is an issue with the router ..
actually not the router either .. it may be using one of the newer encryption which is not supported

Im having an issue with Wifi Tethering.
Everything I use my Wi-Fi Tethering it connects then after a few mins it disconnects.. Its quite annoying...
Im using SGS3 Stock ROM (rooted) with Stay Awake
And im using MacBook Pro late 2011

Solution found: (maybe not applicable to all)
After installing this application Wifi Scanner (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.farproc.wifi.analyzer)
I saw that there are lots of AP in my location and found out i have conflicts with one of the AP.
I changed my channel on wireless and it works!
Now im able to use WIFI Tethering without disconnection.
I hope this one could help users out there!
(currently running wifi tethering for morethan 8 hours )

OK Ive got a strange problem with one of my Galaxy S3's!
It will not connect to some WIFI connections! It will say 'Obtaining IP address' then 'Failed to obtain IP address' and then loops itself doing the same thing over and over...?
I have two S3's and my other rooted device is fine. The one that has the problem is running a standard O2 4.3 rom (Un-rooted)
My rooted phone is also running 4.3.
Anyone experienced a similar problem? I have had this problem with 4 or 5 WIFI connections now, including my home one which is rather annoying! I have tried the obvious and rebooted my router, which hasn't helped!
Any advice welcomed!

I've had issues with the quality of my internet connection being checked, and then the connection being killed due to "slow internet connection", even on strong Wifi networks. Solution turned out to be to uncheck the automatic network switch in the advanced Wifi settings.

Thanks but that doesn't affect me. It just wont connect full stop

How so, when I have an identical phone sat right next to it with the same version of Android and that phone connects perfectly?
The only difference is one phone is rooted, the other is not (Both running 4.3, just different kernal number and build number)
Well wifi is a function of the kernel .

i have a problem, my wifi only allows for around 3mbit/s connection, mobile data works perfectly fine, but its slow on wifi? rom is the latest stock miui12
