[Q] htc dev unlock flash custom rom

Hello experts
I recently updated my unbranded evo 3D to official ICS , it has a lebanese sim card so im guessing its gsm not CDMA ?
I managed to unlock the bootloader thanks to htcdev(dot)com now its unlocked
My hboot version is 1.53.007 and i dont know how to root and i dont want to try the wire trick cz its so hard and i dont want to ruin my lovely EVO 3D htcdev said that i can install custom rom after unlocking the bootloader by installing the boot.img and installing the rom i dont know :/ can someone plz explain me how step by step
how to flash a rom to an unlocked with s on ics hboot 1.53.007 evo 3d ?
thanks in advance
You need to flash a custom recovery such as 4-ext (find it in EVO3d GSM dev section).
Once you have that, download any ICS-based ROM to your SD card and flash it via recovery menu. Then you will have root.
I m not sure if you can achieve root on the stock phone, using the superuser zip,but i hope i helped
Hi,
I'm intrested in too, but are you sure, that this is everything what he have to do, when he want to flashed new rom? Because I am in this situation too. I have unlocked my EVO via htcdev, S-ON and HBOOT 1.53.0007.
It would be great if someone has a more detailed tutorial how to do that.
Thanx and sorry for my bad english
plz we need an expert
i have managed to flash CWM using fastboot commands (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img) but everytime i flash a custom i get stuck on the custom rom animation and when i flash the custom rom boot.img in fastboot the keeps restarting plzzz help mee:crying:
I have a CDMA HTC Unlock Guide in my signature that will explain the step by step. Keep in mind that you would need to use the correct GSM versions (shooterU) of the files, but the process is exactly the same.
- HTC unlock
- install custom "gsm" recovery via fastboot commands.
(fastboot flash recovery yourRecoveryFilename.img)
- boot/enter recovery via fastboot commands.
(fastboot boot yourRecoveryfilename.img)
- install current superuser & binaries zip(3.0.7) from recovery.
- reboot & you are rooted on stock Rom.
Note: you must enter recovery via the fastboot command prompt to avoid bootloop Issues with kernel (you can install 4ext Recovery as a workaround to this later). See the stickies in the gsm section for links or start with this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24054039

Have a look here for another rooting method => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28178105.
Method 1 only need stock recovery to flash a temporarily CWM recovery.
And in CWM recovery you can flash the CM10 zip file.
No need for an extra PC application (for linux it would be Heimdall and not Odin) ... with this method you can flash everything on the phone itself.
Good luck !

HTC one! Well... I bricked it. (noob)

So first off let me say that clearly i'm not any sort of expert. I was fooling around with different roms for my htc one and read somewhere that a OTA to 4.4 was available for the stock rom. After reverting to the stock rom (official release) I found that I could not install the update because of the version of TWRP I had installed. Apparently it was not current enough. Anyway I installed clockwork mod only to find out that (again) i installed an older version. Sooooo I installed the newest version or TWRP I could find aaaaannnndddd..... Bootloop. When I try to enter recovery it shows the clockworkmod Icon then reboots and stays that way until the battery dies (which is built in of course and not removable). Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Search for your device first before making a thread

Just call it a brick and buy a new phone.
Can you install twrp through fastboot on HTC devices?
If so, reinstall it.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda premium
setup ADB and FASTBOOT first

Well okay...
First of all head to this link and download the desired recovery image from the list (with or without TOUCH- both are equally functional) :
http: // www clockworkmod com/ rommanager
( REMOVE SPACES IN BETWEEN THE LINK TEXT)
Go to fastboot mode (from ur device):
Switch off the device, press & hold Volume down + power key simultaneously till you get a special mode.
This special mode is nothing but a Bootloader. In bootloader, select fastboot mode option (using Volume keys & power button)
Now put the recovery image which u have downloaded into the working folder of ADB.
Now Check u are in fastboot mode or not:
Code:
fastboot devices
If your device is listed with above code then enter this code in terminal:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery ----------.img
replace the ------ with your recently downloaded CWM recovery image filename i.e.recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.6-m7.img
All done...
Now Boot into recovery and Do whatever you want..!!

[Q] HOX+ problems after root/flash...

Hello everyone,
first of all im a total beginner on this field and it's the first time doing this stuff.
since there are no updates further than 4.2 for the beautiful HOX+ i tried to flash the cyanogenmod11 rom on my device. i used hasoons all-in-one toolkit. i followed the guide step by step and got stuck now in a hopefully not that serious problem.
i unlocked bootloader and flashed the cwm international recovery. the recovery was working fine and i did a backup. then i flashed the kernel with the boot.img from the cyanogenmod11.zip and the problems started. when normally booted the phone lights up with the white htc screen and then turns off again after about 3 seconds. i haven't flashed the CM11.zip yet and i guess that was the mistake? i still can acces the recover as well as the bootloader but like already said the phone doesn't start. another problem is that adb doesn't find the device enymore and only prints an empty line when using "adb devices" howevery using "fastboot devices" still gives me the proper result. hasoons toolkit also doesn't recognice the phone anymore.
if anyone could help either getting back to a custom rom or preferably setting up cyanogenmod properly would make me really happy =).
i hope this is the right place for this. i also searched around for hours and hours but can't find anything that helps me.

you normally flash the zip via recovery, do you already have the zip on your phone?
if so, go into recovery and install, find the zip file and install it
if you don't have the zip on your phone then you will need to sideload the zip to your phone, (fancy way of copying the file to your phone) then post 4 tells you how to sideload the rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2066390
thanks

the problem with this is that i first don't have the zip on my phone so cant install from the recovery and second that adb doesnt recognize my phone for whatever reasone so i can't sideload the rom. if anyone experienced similar problems (fastboot working, adb not) please let me know how to fix it
Lukas
another thing i just read about is the possibility if one already has installed a running cyanogenmod rom on his device he can extract that as an system.img if i remember right and i could use it on my hox+. just in case anyone knows how to pull that off let me know =)
otherwise still looking for hints how to install rom via fastboot or how to make adb working again

Try flashing the ROM onto the phones storage. Then you can install the ROM. If you cant even charge your phone then you have bigger problems than not having an OS installed.

[Q] Cant get out of bootloader loop Desire 601 Zara_UL

Hi all, and thanks for taking time to read this.
I have come here because I have had varying answer to my question none of which seem to work.
Here goes: (thanks in advance)
- I have a Zara_UL HTC Desire 601.
- Root was unsuccessful, wanted to flash to factory.
- Tried TWRP and Philz, cant seem to get out of loop.
- Tried SU files, boot img files, nothing seems to work.
- I am kind of new to this, so I need some help - hope the phone isn't beyond repair.
- Used to have 4.4.2 on it
- No OS on system according to twrp.
Thanks again all!

Philz/cwm won't work on 4.4.2 and to use twrp you need this version.

Thanks - installing - which ROM should I use? To install the OS? I have seen many many install methods and am a bit confused. Is there a definitive guide you would recommend with files?
Thanks!
InsertCoins ROM for HTC Desire 601
USE InsertCoins ROM for HTC Desire 601
1: Download InsertCoins ROM on their official website (Appox 1.2 GB)
2: Get TWRP custom recovery
3: Go to recovery mode
4: Wipe all cavik cache
5: Install>Download>InsertCoins
6: wait
7: There you have it!
Worked for you? Consider clicking the Thanks button!!
It is the one that I used to get out of the boot loop, works 100%. Just wipe your cavik cache before you flash it using twrp:good::good:
